Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Stayed at the Pelican Bay Art Hotel in Platys Yialos Mykonos. Absolutely beautiful hotel. The rooms were clean and nice. The pool area is very nice, the bar/restaurant was clean, and staff was friendly. The breakfast had much variety to choose from and the coffee was outstanding! It was a located less than 5 minute walk to the beach and many restaurants/bars. The area is clean/safe. Will need a taxi/bus to get to Mykonos town.

Room was very clean, the breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly. Location was within walking distance to bus stop although the side street to get there after dark seemed a bit sketchy. We could walk to the beach - BUT DON'T get a sun lounge - RIP OFF! Met a gal at bus stop who paid 64 euros for a pina colado and she said 2 Americans had 2 wines and an appetizer and were billed over 300 euros - they yelled and refused to pay! MUCH less crowded than Hora.

We recommend this hotel because: 1. Although it is a 10 min ride by bus from Platis Gailos ( ‘PG’) ( bus stop is 4 min walk from hotel ) to Fabrika Sq ( Mykonos town ), the bus travels every half hour and is only 1.60 euros one way. A taxi costs 25 euros one way!! So access to the town is easy. 2. There are good beaches to swim at PG which is only a 5 min walk from the hotel. We Australians don’t like to pay for lounges, and there is a small sandy beach u can put your towel on. The water is lovely. 3. The buffet breakfasts are good with fresh fruit plus hot and cold items. 4. The pool area is lovely to have a swim and a lie or sit in the shade. 5. They do small dinners ( for example club sandwiches ) adjoining the pool area. They are good and reasonably priced. 6. The rooms are clean, a good size and we had a small balcony ( great for drying small items u wash ). The beds were very comfortable. 7. Staff were friendly and helpful. 8. We did 2 tours, a half day boat tour to Delos Island, and a half day walking/bus ‘city and island ‘ tour. Both were good. The one downside was THEY DO NOT TELL U THAT U MUST NOT DRINK THE TAP WATER and only give u 2 small complimentary bottles which last no time. So u end up having to buy water, which is a pain.

We arrived to Pelican Bay after a wonderful 5 night stay in Tourlos area of mykonos. We had reviewed many hotels near the beach area of Platis Gialos and decided on Pelican Bay due to the hotels booking.com images and Instagram images of their nice modern boutique style bathrooms and bed, furnishings etc. We had booked a superior room direct via email. When we arrived, we were told that we had a free upgrade to VIP room- the room was spacious with a nice balcony area, but the room decor and bathroom were very dated, in need of a major refurb. PLEASE CHECK what you are booking if you book this hotel. We were very disappointed it felt like false advertisement but the hotel manager did not care at all, I requested a refund and I would go away to another hotel but he declined stating it was too late to cancel, he offered an upgrade to the room we thought we had already booked for an additional €150 per night. I declined this out of principle, and tried our best to enjoy our time. This is in no way a 4-Star boutique hotel. Very dated furnishing in their standard and superior rooms, poor quality breakfast consisting of longlife bread products, batch cooked frozen hotdog sausage and potato wedges (yes for breakfast), UHT milk, concentrated carton juices and very disappointing instant coffee from a machine. All of which was free vend, nobody to greet you in the morning. How difficult is it in 2023 to provide fresh coffee and fresh juice? My wife did not eat breakfast at all during the stay. The hotel location is great and the reception staff were friendly as well as the cleaners (who were walking around with freshly made barista Fredo espresso every morning haha! ) With a small investment, this has potential to be a great hotel, worthy of 4 stars, but currently, I would rate this hotel 3 stars and would advise the hotel management to ensure they are very clear in their advertisements and communications.

We were pleasantly surprised and loved our stay. We were warmly welcomed and given lots of information about the island. The hotel is beautiful, clean, surrounded with flowers and lemon trees, rooms with a view, perfectly situated near restaurants, beach, car, ATV rentals and bus stop. Highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The staff are polite and friendly and go above and beyond to help you . Breakfast is delicious with so much choice .The pool and sunbeds are really comfortable And towels are provided I travelled alone as I was attending a wedding on the island. They helped with taxis to and from the airport and into town . There is also a bus stop a few minutes walk away that take you directly to town . I did this and it was very straight forward and €1.80 each way . The beach is a few minutes down the road . On arrival A lovely lad helped me with my bags and showed me to my room and all the facilities . What a credit to pelican bay he is . ( didn’t catch his name but he helps with guest arriving and leaving ) mykynos is a beautiful island and I will definitely be returning next year.

Oekican Bay is a Beautiful hotel, with spacious rooms and great service! Meal are superb! I especially have to thank one of the staff, Dimitri~ He did take it upon himself to act as a sort of liason for Mykonos and provided great suggestions on places to eat and things to do! Thanks so much! I will most certainly be visiting again!
