Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Excellent stay place is immaculately clean in rooms and all over area’s. Plenty of choice for Breakfast. Pool bar prices were very good compared to other places we’ve stayed in. One small improvement that would make things better would be a little more draw space for clothes ,this isn’t a criticism just an idea.

We have just stayed at St George for a weeks Pre-Christmas break, the complex is in a quiet area between Los Cristianos and Playa De Las Americas with plenty of amenities (supermarkets, restaurants, bars) a short walk, be aware that it is at the top of a hill but that wasn’t an issue for us. The Apartments themselves are clean, modern and well appointed, it’s 20 Euros for the Safe and a 10 Euro deposit for the TV remote, which is refunded on return. Only 2 minor negatives are, as previously mentioned the lack of air conditioning; which could be a problem in hotter months (this wasn’t an issue in December for us) and also we had limited hot water; neither of these really bothered us much. Breakfast was great in terms of service, selection available and quality of food. Pool was great and the reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Overall would stay again if we could rent aircon for the hotter weather.

This was the first time we had been to Tenerife and had booked relatively late as we had been to Majorca in August for what was supposed to be the main family holiday celebrating my wife and I silver wedding anniversary. As it was we managed to find another week on our actual anniversary to go away as a couple. When we booked the holiday we put down three special requests one of which was an anniversary gift. Unfortunately we didn’t get so much as a cheap bottle of wine in our apartment even though we were spending up the money in the pool bar The guy who was on evening reception duty said it wasn’t a big deal having a Silver wedding anniversary holiday and that the apartment complex didn’t need our money as there were plenty more people flying out to stay and he didn’t care. I got very angry at that comment as we work hard to save money for our holidays and we expect good service when we get there. Because of that comment we felt obliged to try several other bars and restaurants which I have reviewed on Tripadvisor and given them four stars minimum. Now, let’s not forget about the true stars of the apartment complex. Fran , Claudio and Lucia were all stars and deserve a big wage rise. As for whether we return then we’ll wait and see as there is so much choice of places to stay and we want appreciation for our cash .

Response from Saint George, Director General at Saint George
Responded 3 Nov 2023
First of all we would like to clarify that we don't do anything special due to anniversaries or anything of the like and mainly because there has been a lot of previous abuse and misuse from both travel agents and customers. Secondly there was no actual request for a gift (which we find rather brash, it is your anniversary and we have nothing to do with it), but just a mention that they were on their anniversary (and which we get hundreds of times as most people have some kind of anniversary each year and it is as simple as writing it when making the booking, whether true or not). On the other hand we did get a request for a doble bed as well as a pool view (which they could have secured booking the relevant room-type, but they chose not to), despite it not being within the features of the apartment booked they got both. We are still waiting for a simple and cheap (actually totally free) "thank you". Obviously it is not right if the reception said all that, but it would be important to know how he was treated and what he had to endure to end up reacting like that.

I’ll start with the the positives , rooms spacious and very clean , rooms cleaned daily fresh towels daily if you want them .. no kettle in room but if you ask for 1 at reception housekeeping staff will bring 1 , Breakfast is good plenty to pick from and staff very helpful . Now for negatives … you have to hire TV remote 😳 did get it back if you took remote back at end of stay , could only get sky news in English . Safe was €20 but you expect to pay that this was non refundable No air con or fans we had to hire air con in which was another €60 for the week would never have slept without it having said that the air con unit was noisy but did eventually sleep . Pool opened at 10 closed at 6 The only bar in hotel opened at 12 and closed at 6 . I’m sure the hotel would benefit from the bar being open longer into evening . Plenty of sun-beds to go round , not suppose to reserve but people did ignore this rule to get same beds daily. The hotel is on a steep hill which in the heat could be hard work .

We have just come back from our 10 days holiday from St Georges. We stayed in a double studio room. Room has everything you need with a balcony overlooking the pool side with table & chairs. Hairdryer in the good size shower room. Kitchen has a coffee machine/fridge with 2 hobs. (ask reception for a kettle) they provide one pillow each but i asked reception for an extra one with no problem. When we first arrived we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff called Carlos. We arrived quite late round 11:30pm so he explained where to go for a bite to eat with a map. There is a 24 hour shop right next to the apartments but be warned its pricey!!! We only used the first night to grab a banquette as most restaurants stop serving food around 10:15pm. You have to pay 10 euros for the remote which you do get back when you leave. TBH no point as you only get bbc news in English. If you want a safe you have to pay 35 euros which you dont get back. (We didn't bother as we had a revelute card) We kept our passports locked in our suitcases the whole time and can say this is a safe hotel. The pool area is great nice and quiet with a drinks hut open until 5:45pm, They also serve snacks from 1-3pm which is very good value. No hogging sun beds which is great!!! Breakfast has a great choice of food/drinks open untll 11am. Only thing that lets this place down is no AIR CON ANYWHERE!!! it was so hot the last couple of days/nights reaching 34 i have never sweated so much in my life!!! We knew about his before we came due to the revues but only after we had booked it. Tui should add this information on the description of the holiday. This is something you expect when you go on a holiday. Lesson learned no info on air con i wont book anywhere without again. Luckily reception does provide fans but you do have to pay for the privilege. 25 euros for 10 days & Carlos did provide his fan as an extra for me as i am pre-menopausal! Nothing bad about this place i would love to stay again but air con is a must for me!

Lovely hotel, great staff Fran the barman was fantastic, we all had a laugh and joke with him a very helpful and well mannered member of staff.Hotel itself was lovely rooms are decorated to a excellent standard, walk n showers were great for 2 people. Swimming pool was a good size and there was no need to rush for sunbeds as there was a policy which was no reserve for them. I would say only 30 to 40% of beds were taken so plenty to go around. Breakfast was fantastic I loved the chorizo sausages can not remember how many I had but very tasty. Kitchen staff work very hard including the cleaners. Working in that heat I take my hat off to them, daytime pool side bar was also great plenty of choice to have something to eat and my wife says cocktails were to die for and all very reasonable priced. Only thing that lets the hotel down is air con , if they had air con I would defo go back but even at night with 2 fans going it still reached around 82 degrees in the bedroom. If you suffer from any disability like I do regarding walking it's is a bit of a walk to go to the safari shopping centre and bars and restaurants and as soon as you come out of hotel you are met by a very steep hill, easy going down but coming back up is a killer for people with walking disabilities. But you can hire double mobility scooters, we had seen a load of young and old people on them. Fantastic place called the loft if you turn left out of hotel is about a 8 minute walk but they serve fantastic food also there is a main shopping centre there as well. There was no time entertainment which was a shame as the bar closed at 6pm so when you went out and came back to hotel there was no way of having a quiet drink beside the pool ( which I think the hotel need to look at) also bar opens at 12.00pm which is a bit late as some people were out at 9,30m on sunbeds and I am sure they would have welcomed a drink from the bar. Hotel could make a fortune if they opened the breakfast area at night for meals.

The first night we arrived at midnight and our room was like an oven, I have never sweated in bed before, we all hardly slept, our room was above the kitchen and a noisy motor turned on at about 4:30 in the morning making it even harder to sleep. Luckily for me I had pre-arranged with Mr Cool's Hire shop for a couple of portable air con units to be delivered the next day, these although noisy saved the holiday. You can also hire a fan from reception. The appartments are nice and the staff are friendly. The breakfast area had a good selection of food, the coffee is terrible though. The pool is a good size and I never saw more than 30% of the sunbeds occupied, it is very relaxing there, sure there is a bit of road noise but not realy that bad. Floats are allowed in the pool contrary to what a previous reviewer said. The pool bar was great, food is available in the early afternoon at reasonable prices, also coctails. The location is between Los Christianos and Playa, so you have a choice of what direction to go for food etc. Walking down the hill takes you to a massive beach. There is also a decent supermarket called Mercadona half way to the beach. There is a 24 hour shop up the hill, but it is expensive. Boat trips for whale and dolphin watching go from Los Christianos which is convenient as it is walkable. It is hard to fault the place and the staff apart from it needs air con and may be a bit quiet for some people.
