Don't judge a book by its cover. This was the first thought that came to my mind when I entered the guest house! Contrary to what I had expected from its look outside, the room was very aesthetically furnished. With only 2 girls travelling, safety was our primary and most vital requirement. Located on the main road, a stone throw...

I had work in Pondichery and hence decided to stay in Vatika Guest House. I recommend the guest house to any one who wants peace and tranquillity, a charming hostess and simple home food. Within walking distance of the sea front (about 5 minutes) the Vatika Guest House is definitely my idea of a holiday far from the madding crowd....

We stayed for 6 nights in this modern, clean, tastefully furnished guesthouse. On the borders of the French town it is well situated for easy access to the promenade and the numerous attractions of Pondy. The bedroom and adjoining bathroom were both spacious with a ceiling fan and aircon in the bedroom. The simple (but repetative) breakfast included the tastiest bread I ate in India...

We (with my better half) reached Pondi on 5th Feb 2011. We had booked Vatika Guest House before hand. Couple of reasons for the selection.. 1. High ratings from trip advisor 2. Close to Beach and French Quarter 3. Availability of room when i started searching for a place just couple of days before :) .... Above all, it was...

We had a lovely room here with a great bathroom with hot shower. It was a real treat after some of the hotels we had stayed in TN. Cost of 1500Rs was well worth it and included a yummy breakfast of fruit and ashram bread. the owner is a teacher at the Aurobindo ashram school and speaks fluent English and...

Lovely light house with gorgeous furnishings and pristine rooms. We were made to feel very welcome by the gracious hostess and household staff in this serene family home. Wholesome, simple food on request. Highly recommended.

I was quite amazed by the way Datta run this place. Actually, it's her family place. Vatika is obviously not an hotel, it's really an Indian house : her mother lives at the ground floor. So staying at Vatika is a state of mind. Forget hotel's accommodations and food. It's definitely more like family atmosphere and cooking (healthy and not...

I came across the Vatika Guest home by fluke and was so glad. It was my last night in India after two months of travel and I was meant to stay here. I fell ill on this latter end of my travels and without question Datta, the owner, took me to the doctor. She took care of me just like...

The main reason why you stay at Vatika guesthouse is because the Lady who runs the place Datta is a really lovely person. She is such an interesting character who you can have very interesting conversations with. In terms of the accommodation itself I must admit I was a bit disappointed, especially since we went off the reviews on here...
