A family run warm friendly apart hotel. Mainly a self catering accommodation but can also be bed and breakfast. We are situated on the outskirts of the resort of Argassi. Our location is our best quality right on the sea front with breathtaking views of Zakynthos town, our neighbouring island kefalonia and the greek mainland. Agoulos inn is ideal for any types of bathing and swimming may it be in the pool or the warm ionian sea both on our doorstep. Relax in our gardens on sun loungers or try some refreshments from the pool bar. Also available in the evenings a roof top cocktail bar to chill out and relax with some of the most exiting cocktails.

Myself and my fiancé have just returned from a most enjoyable 11 night stay here. A warm and friendly family run complex. Yes the rooms are basic but clean and the views more than compensate for the size. We reported a couple of niggly faults (Shower head not working/ faulty light on the balcony) both were fixed the same day. Rooms cleaned daily, towels changed every 3 days not a problem (just hang them out on the balcony dry in 10 mins )All staff here are friendly and helpful. Vivi needs a payrise 😉 Prices are a little steep in the roof garden but well worth a visit food amazing the swing seats are really comfy and the setting spectacular Nicolletta and Kostas will gladly welcome you. All in all a very well ran complex.

The apartments are very very basic but are kept fairly clean and tidy by the cleaners, towels are changed every 2/3 days which isn’t too much of a problem. The views are absolutely exquisite (especially sunset!). The prices around the pool bar are rather expensive (€3 for a soft drink) and the rooftop garden bar are just extortionate (€14 for a cocktail!). This is a family run establishment and the owners are fairly friendly, the only problem we faced was their child (she’s about 12) who was left to run wild in the day. On numerous occasions she stole my children’s pool floats and refused to give them back pretending she didn’t understand when asked to hand it over, splashed all the kids in the pool and kept dunking them underwater when they clearly didn’t like it and at one point wandered into our apartment and started picking things up, when asked to leave she again pretended she didn’t understand and continued doing what she pleased it was only when I ushered her out the door she actually left! So I think the owners really need to clamp down on the brattish behaviour because she does put a slight downer on your stay especially if you have children. Other than that a pleasant stay, decent food, gorgeous views and surroundings but basic, fairly expensive and about a 10 minute walk away from the beach, restaurants and the closest supermarket. I probably wouldn’t stay here again based on how far out it was and the annoying kid.

After reading the reviews for this hotel I did not know what to expect. I can say do not take notice of the poor reviews, we are leaving today after a wonderful 11 night stay. The family that own the hotel are friendly, as are the other staff and although it may be a little dated it is clean and tidy. During our 11 night stay our towels and bedding were changed around 3 times and when we asked for clean towels on another day, they were happy to help.

I also do not understand the reviews saying Argassi town is far from the hotel?! It is a 10 minute walk at max which is no problem what so ever! Yes, the roads can be a bit dicey but of you're sensible this is no issue!

Overall, Argassi is a beautiful holiday destination and Agoulos Beach Hotel has been accommodating and enjoyable!

The bonus has been the families gorgeous new puppy who we've loved watching run around the grass 🥰

We had one of the top floor rooms so we had a great view of the sea, we liked the access into the sea from the steps over the road to the hotel. It was a bit of a walk into centre we knew this when booking so was fine but if you had kids and a buggy not so good because there is no path down. The reception staff were helpful when we had a query and we know they were helping others with plf forms. The thing that let's this hotel down is the cleaning, the rooms were big and plenty of storage space but the bathroom floor was constantly wet, water couldn't drain away from shower because drain was full of dirt and hair so when cleaner mopped the floor dirt was spread around everywhere. Considering covid was in the hotel when we were there the cleaning of the sunbeds and outdoor tables weren't good enough, even if positive covid wasn't about it still wasn't good enough, such a shame great location

We travelled with Jet2 mid-September '21. We enjoyed Zante but usually regretted having to return to the hotel on the evening.
The reception is also where the main kitchen is for the Garden restaurant upstairs. We ate there and the food was very good but the whole reception was filled with acrid smoke and grease smells from the cooking. This smell hung around.
Outside the gardens were unkempt and some of the slabs around the pool were uneven and loose.
The pool bar didn't always appear available (lights off etc), especially in the evenings so we rarely had a drink there. The premium Greek beers were also sold out.
On occasions when we did use the pool bar, the family (owners) had the TV on rather loud so we couldn't relax near the bar area and felt like we were intruding in their family TV time.
The whole thing had a bad feel to it. It was like they didn't want to make any effort with their guests.
The room was quite large, and we had a second-floor sea view which was obstructed by the pool bar roof and chimney, but we didn't spend any time in the room anyway.
The room was tatty and dated. By tatty I mean things like missing cupboard doors, ill-fitting shower curtain, toilet roll holder hanging off, dirty floors. It didn't feel like it had been cleaned particularly well during our stay. Every time we showered water drained into the corridor outside the room.
We did consider leaving the hotel and getting another in town but decided the extra cost was not worth it because we only spent a few hours sleeping in the room anyway.
A positive thing I have to say is that some of the reception staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.
We had a bad experience at this place and will never return.

This isn't our 1st stay here and won't be our last; it's an absolute gem! Quiet, friendly, family run hotel set on the edge of resort making it wonderfully quiet on an evening. There's a supermarket and good restaurants within 5/10 minutes walk and the center of resort is approximately 5 minutes further - (great for walking off your tea 😉) though beware some of the route nearer the hotel doesn't have pavement so I wouldn't recommend this for pushchairs.

The poolside snack / bar is well stocked and whilst it's a little pricey at €5 for very large cornetto style ice-cream, the food is home cooked and tasty. The hotel is typical greek style and being updated, but housekeeping is excellent and we've never had any issues that haven't been fixed straight away once mentioned to reception. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. There's also a fabulous rooftop 'Garden' bar where you can sip cocktails whilst sitting on swings watching the sun set over Zakynthos town.. they also serve delicious tapas (booking is recommended). Sunbeds are plentiful and always available in both full sun or some of the more shaded areas of the garden (which are well kept).

In a nutshell if you enjoy laid back, tranquil, relaxing holidays in a basic but well kept and friendly hotel with good food/service and STUNNING surroundings (the sea here is great for snorkeling too) then this hotel is for you - providing you don't mind a short walk into resort (but the distance is what keeps it wonderfully quiet so you can enjoy the sounds of the sea).

Just arrived back from 10 nights at these lovely apartments. To be honest reading the reviews I was a little worried but as soon as arrived I realised all was ok. The staff were super friendly and showed us to our apartment 214 . It was very comfortable and an amazing large balcony with spectacular view. The bathroom was lovely and clean, no shower curtains but bring adults we managed to shower without getting the bathroom wet. Beds were changed 3 times and towels once, however we could dry them on the balcony and tbh it was not a problem at all . They are a little walk out of the main part of the village and the road can be quite busy, this is a lovely quiet part which is the most important part for me.

After reading reviews from way back in 2016 things in 2022 have not changed one bit.We stayed here on the 12th June and when we got dropped off and then shown to our rooms I could have cried. The rooms were dirty damp and disgusting. First was the bathroom we had no hot water for 3 days after much complaining by ourselves and other guests nothing was sorted soon.Towels were grey and had an smell to them.Cleaners well if that's what you call them only did a good job if you give them some euros which when confronted about this they denied every taking money. We witnessed one cleaner taking 10 euros from a couple.Garden area for sunbathing was overgrown, sunbeds old and dirty plus where you left them was still in same place day after.Steps going down to accommodation was unsafe all different levels was a struggle with suitcases if you have mobility it will be impossible for you to access hotel. Reception area not very inviting dull and miserable. Reception staff was amazing I felt sorry for them because the amount of people complaining every day but they did handle it well it wasn't there fault that they worked for someone who never put any money into the business to update furniture etc. After complaining to the jet2 rep called Anna who was really helpful and rang me every day to see if things had improved which never did.Towards the end of our holiday slight things got done but not brilliant. JET2 should remove this place of all the holidays we have been on this is the first ever time I have complained. And before people say what they always say is you pay for a 2 star and expect a 5 star well I don't what I do expect is to be clean and tidy.I have stayed many times in Greece in a 2 star and have had brilliant accommodation but this place was the worst we have ever stayed in.Think twice people before booking this place. It didn't spoil our holiday we have been to zante many times we just got on with it.One couple just kept saying but you do have the most amazing view yeah I suppose we did but would sooner be comfortable in our rooms.Self catering was a joke couldn't cook in these rooms if you wanted, but then again wouldn't want too.Just a big Thank You to Anna you did your best but they just can't be bothered. Agoulos take a leaf out of Windmill Bay now that is a place to stay..People you have been warned avoid avoid..

After reading previous reviews from other guests we were really apprehensive but decided to come anyway and form our own opinion. Thank god we did as its an absolute gem of a place. I dont know if the really poor reviews were by folk that had an agenda against the hotel or if the hotel has since sorted the issues out but all I can say from our own experience is that it's been a cracking stay. Rooms are a bit dated however ours was spotless and the bedding and towels were changed regularly. We had a huge ground floor patio area that was lovely and cool at all times of the day and had great sea views. A very pleasant 10 to 15 minute walk into town and along the way there are many decent restaurants. Would I recommend the hotel, absolutely.

T he receptionist was super friendly.
But then.. where do I start…
The breakfast was terribly bad. For €11 pp you can expect the following: tomatoes that are so old that they almost walk to the bin themselves, old bread that has already been heated 10x in the microwave, dirty instant coffee with soap since the coffee cups are never washed, eggs that are green, a rude woman who brings you food while she is chewing her gum with her mouth open, an arrogant man who will show you his watch if you want to come and eat breakfast at 9 am and cutlery that we got exactly from previous customers, there were literally still chunks of leftover food. The milk was so rotten and had yellow lumps. Me and my husband have both been sick from this food. The food was full of wasps and other pests. Every day breakfast consists of 4 ingredients. Simply unsanitary, I think you'd better find food in a trash can. We were obliged to go to a different place every day to look for breakfast. It is unbelievable that they are still allowed to sell food.
The cocktails change price every day. A younger man who works there spits on the mint they use for their drinks.
The pool is so rancid and cloudy that you can't see what's under your feet.
The room:
WiFi 0, the bed was a bed of nails. In the bathroom we had extra guests, ants and woodlice. It was a free zoo. Mold on the walls, the outlets don't work. Simply the worst experience I've had. You better sleep on the street. This made my vacation very disappointing. They should pay people to stay there.
To anyone reading this, stay away from this raunchy hotel, it's just a dirty, unsanitary place where you shouldn't expect any service or hygiene.
This place isn’t even worth a star.
