the place is something nightmares are made of, from the plastic plants, coated with dust, the rooms and bathrooms are so deplorable, the place should be reported to the health department, when i stayed there, 2 nights, i was unable to shower, because the plastic bathroom was breaking apart, the toilet was crammed in a corner between a basin and...

We do come here for years and every time think it could be the last because of the owner's age. It might be that the season had yet to start, but Pipo was in an excellent shape and more active than ever. The reception was as usual. "What do you drink, wine, beer, champaign"? We got room number 13 which...

This hotel is as my partner says "honestly cheap". I've read some of the reviews below so won't repeat other than to say we had the sloping floors, upgrade to garden room (views of unkempt neighbour), welcome champagne, exit wine, hyper Pippo etc. However, if you need a hotel with WIFI, do NOT stay here, full stop. If you want...

Staying in Hôtel Les XII Apôtres is like travelling back in time. In this place a guest is really treated like a guest and even more than that. From the moment you arrive until the day of departure you are really being spoiled by Pippo (Guiseppe) and his team. Champagne as a welcome drink, without asking for being offered the...

True the decor and styling is very old fashioned French, with flowery wallpaper that goes up and across the ceiling and bathrooms from another age. BUT- if you are greeted by M. Pennisi as you arrive , offered cups of tea and lemon meringue pie, your luggage seized as he runs up the stairs and generally treated like royalty, it...

The hotel has outdated decor some charming but mostly dingy and dirty. The room we stayed in had slanted floors, it feels like the hotel is falling in on itself. We upgraded to a more expensive room and that bathroom had a bad musty smell. You will aslo be charged for every little thing, even the coffee you are offered...

Hey before I get into this review about les Apotres let me just say I loved this random place. Sure it aint the Ritz and yes it is stuck in a 60s time warp. But for charm, value for money and pure good old fashioned fun you won't get better. We stopped off en route down to CH and had...

Note: this a a rating of the restaurant, not of the hotel. The restaurant offers a selection of very nice, tasteful menus at a reasonable price, including a good cheese offering and a very wide range of desert options. Seating is a the front with a good view over the central square of Contrexeville. The only negative remark is about...

“All the rooms are quiet, but ask for a romantic room with a balcony and a beatiful view on the village. The decoration, not being changed in ages, will do you travel back in time. But everything is very clean and you will really love the atmosphere of ancient times.”
