Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful place from which to explore the delights of the local region. A car however is essential. The accommodation was excellent, the hosts very welcoming and knowledgeable and the breakfasts delicious.

Stayed 3 nights here and it was great. Lovely large room, huge bed, everything you need. Patio to sit out at night. Breakfast served in the school hall. Pool and gardens to use if needed. Very quiet location, but with a couple of good places to eat just minutes away. Loved our time here.

Every morning I got up looking forward to breakfast! Fresh fruits, eggs with jamon serrano, pastries, good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. All served in a lovely, cozy room with comfortable couches, a large fireplace and plenty of good books to choose from. It's beautifully decorated throughout and the rooms are large, clean and well equipped. The gardens are very pretty with plenty of flowers and fruit trees, great to relax by the pool. La Crujia is located a short drive from Velez-Malaga and other beautiful villages worth visiting and of course the beach with its many beach front restaurants to choose from. The best thing about this guesthouse though is the owners, they are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful to all your needs. They also speak fluent english and can guide you to the perfect places visit. I loved my stay at La Crujia and I'm happy to have made new friends.

We loved B&B La Escuela de Crujía. The host and hostess are extremely pleasant and accessible people. No trouble is too much. The room is cleaned daily, bed linen is changed weekly. Breakfast with fresh fruit, serrano ham, cheese and croissants and such. There is a wide variety in cereals available. The rooms are basic and have everything you need. We had access to the shared living room/dining room, the swimming pool and the garden. Because only three rooms are rented out, it was quiet and we often had the place to ourselves. La Escuela was a great base for our day trips. The house is 15 minutes from the beach in Torre del Mar, half an hour from Málaga and a 75 minute drive from Granada with the Alhambra. Large supermarkets are found between nearby Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar. Vélez-Málaga has a nice centre with lots of shops and restaurants. A little bit away from the coast you are soon in beautiful mountain areas with scenic views and picturesque villages and towns such as Acebuchal and Antequera. Places like Nerja and Frigiliana are beautiful but very touristy. The El Torcal nature park near Antequera is very special with its whimsical rock formations. Córdoba and Seville are a bit further away, and that is why we have chosen for two nights in Seville. Nearby Málaga is a nice city with a lot of entertainment and some wonderful museums. In short, Andalusia and La Escuela: highly recommended! Frank & Eveline de Bruin, The Netherlands

We were made to feel very welcome and Toni and Imanol were very helpful and accommodating. Room was clean and we had a lovely private seating area. The grounds and pool area are very well cared for and private. The cats and chickens made it a real home from home! Good location, very handy for exploring the area. Would definitely recommend.

A great b&b. The only reason I didn't give it a five star is the location. Not the prettiest area of Andalucia. But the place itself is lovely. The accommodation and breakfast great. And the old school room has one of the finest paintings (by a Chilean artist) I have ever seen. Will go again
