This was our second visit to Valerie's and it felt like a real home from home. Scrabble and a sitting room are available to guests. Valerie is a wonderful cook and conversationalist, with many interests. The four course dinners were a lifesaver after a cold day's skiing in La Mongie. The area has a lot to offer (shooting, fishing, hiking...

Thank you for this Gordon and can I say that it was a great pleasure having Kosima and Thomas now as interesting adolescents. I have said to you that I greatly admired the tenacity of the three of you that you braved such appalling ski conditions with a smile. It was also a great pleasure to cook for you because...

Back again in beautiful Bagneres for our annual Pyrenean ski trip. What's not to like about this unspoilt Spa Town. After a day on the mountain slopes up at La Mongie, it's lovely to be welcomed back with Tea and Homemade Cake. As ever, leisurely evenings spent over a glass or three, enjoying Valerie's cooking. Always finishing off with some...

My husband and I stayed at Valeries last year to go skiing. The slopes were only a few minutes away by bus. The main reason we came back again was the quality of food that Valerie prepares and cooks to 5 star equivalent. Her breakfasts are out or this world a fresh huge new laid egg, freshly squeezed orange juice,...

The first time that I stayed with Valerie was Autumn 2008 with a girl friend. We were treated like royalty. With the most superb meals! I have dietary requirements. Valerie made some very tasty and wonderful meals. We also had sampled her lovely pack ups if we were out for the day. There was crispy fresh french bread daily. On...

We had a wonderful holiday experiencing gastronomic cuisine surrounded by historic buildings and awe inspiring countryside. It is always reassuring to after a long day to come back to a warm welcome and a comfortable home. We were given helpful and interesting advice on places to see and visit. All in all a time to remember. a

My son and I stayed at Valerie's during the Tour de France and during our stay we were treated more as house guests than as paying guests. The cold beer following our rides was much appreciated and most importantly, our bikes were secure. Cycling from here allowed us to take in two iconic climbs of the Col d'Aspin and the...

It's been some time since I visited Valerie's but was not disappointed. The Summer season opens up a vastly different landscape and the opportunites for walking and cycling are enormous. The area has not lost its historical appeal and her house fits in with the ambiance of this region. Valerie's hospitality has not wained and her food is delicious. She...

My husband and I stayed at Valeries in May originally for 2 nights and ended up staying 5 nights. The reason for this was quite simple, we were greeted at the door by Valerie herself and immediately felt so welcome and it was as if we had know her forever. We decided to have evening meal which consisted of all fresh...

Snow was amazing this year at La Mongie. Lovely to be welcomed back after a day on the slopes to a warm nice house and an evening meal. Valerie is an excellent cook and uses the fine local market produce. We have stayed here before and will return.

“The purple room is the best room for 2peolpe if you want a family room then the interconecting rooms on the same level as they are doubles. the loft is good for (me) and anybody who does not mind steep stairs. The childern were delighted!. plus Valeries room is down a level so you will not be in anybodys pocket. as the upper levels will be yours!.”
