We spent a week at the Helion resort in a duplex 1 bed apartment. It had everything you needed for self catering, was clean, comfy and had the best air con. The pool was great and even has a life guard, we had no problem every getting a sun bed. All staff from reception, cleaning, security and pool bar were all so friendly and helpful. the resort is located right next to bus stops so it made it easy to get out and about to other beaches and Corfu town on local transport. The resort is also a short walk to the centre of Gouvia where there is plenty of restaurants, bars and shops to explore.

We have just returned from a lovely week at the Helion Resort. We arrived late, taxi took us down to the pool area where the reception was located, however it was closed. Pitch black, not knowing what to do, I eventually dug out my paperwork and called the number for Helion and spoke to a really helpful lady who advised me to head back to the main entrance to the security office. I did this and was assisted by the security guard, a very helpful chap. So if you arrive late to Helion Resort, make sure you stop at the front gate and over to your left hand side is a building which is the security office. They will have your key and show you to your apartment. We were most grateful to find a welcome drink in the fridge on arrival, it was gone 11.30pm, so had no idea where we were or what was available locally. We were supplied with water, wine and orange juice. There was also tea and coffee available. The apartments are clean, well presented with new fridge freezer and oven. It did lack a toaster and I did request one from reception but it never came, however I was able to make toast using the oven grill. We had a 'two bed' apartment, however the upstairs was merely a mezanine floor and the roof over the bed was so low it wasn't worth the risk! We used the downstairs bedroom and although it didn't have aircon, it was really cool of a night time with our door open, window open and the aircon in the living space. Beds are really comfy, there is plenty of storage and a nice outside space which is under cover, with a dining table and four chairs. There is room service daily except Sunday. There is a TV in the apartment but mainly German channels, very rarely was anything shown in English. There is free Wifi though which was great. There is also a free safe in the cupboard, iron and ironing board. Gouvia town is a short walk from the apartments, left out of the main gate, not a particularly pleasant walk along the main road on the slip road, past the community wheely bins, then take a left up the hill and it takes you to the main town. As others before have said, it would be great if Helion could sort out another entrance/exit for people on foot, as the busiest part of the walk could be cut out if they were to put another gate further up the resort perimeter, making the walk about 5 minutes. There are lots of bars, restaurants and shops. We were able to get all our provisions within a 10 minute walk. The pool area is lovely and clean, although we did have an issue with the ducks! Really funny, but the pool had to be closed one morning as they had had a real party in there overnight, so it had to be cleaned. There is a pool bar that also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We never ate there, but it closes at 11pm. There are plenty of sunloungers around the pool but not too many parasols - they have fixed thatched parasols in just a couple of areas. There is also a lifeguard on duty until 5pm. If you like cats, this is the place for you. There are loads, all really friendly and we seemed to have one that adopted us for the week, sleeping on our patio area and wanting to join us all the time. The staff at the resort are fantastic and happy to give you ideas of where to go, what to do and how to get there. Corfu town is only a 20 minute bus ride from right outside the resort and costs a few euros. Well worth a visit! I cannot fault the complex or staff.

Just back from another stay at The Helion. Once again it was a very enjoyable holiday. Very short transfer from airport and given a first floor apartment that was so quiet and shaded,no noise issues at night whatsoever. All the staff,Helion and Oasis pool bar, were their usual friendly selves and are happy to help with ideas with days out, restaurants etc.Great to see the family of ducklings waddling around the grounds. Probably one of the most relaxing holidays I have ever had. Well done everyone at The Helion and Oasis. Alan

Thank you for choosing Helion Resort for your summer holidays. The Resort is very quiet even at the peak of the season and we have no problem with the main road outside the resort. There is 137 meters distance from the main road to our closest apartment to the road. There is a row of buildings right on the side of the road, then 41 meters distance, then we have a tall hedge of trees , then you can see two more apartment buildings before the garden where our apartments are at. The main gate of the entire resort is on the main road but the apartments are not. Gouvia is a touristy place with loads of cafe, restaurants and shops very close by. The bus service is pretty easy.

We had a great week here with our 4 year old. The apartments are basic and we had one with the wooden spiral stairs to the basement which wouldn’t suit everyone, but it worked fine for us. Really nice big balcony and the gardens are lovely and well maintained. We really liked that over half the apartments in the complex are privately owned so it doesn’t feel like you are in a big holiday resort, there are lots of different people around and using the pool. The walk into Gouvia is along the dual carriageway but you get used to it! And it really isn’t that far. We also walked in the other direction along the bay to the little white church and found a great restaurant along the coast road. We got a taxi back to the apartments as I wouldn’t recommend walking along those roads in the dark. We found the buses running along the main road to be a bit hit and miss, we booked onto a ‘grand tour’ of the island with one of the tour operators in Gouvia which was a good way to see more of the island. Our little boy mostly just wanted to be in the pool and it’s a great space for children and adults. The pool bar was great for cold drinks and ice creams. I think for us if we’d stayed more than a week we might have wanted to be nearer to a beach but for a week it worked really well.

Absolutely fantastic first trip to Corfu. This place is amazing if you’re looking for peace and tranquility if you need it. Rooms are everything you need for a base, large balcony was very welcomed in afternoon’s and late evenings to chill. The Staff in reception (fantastic) were more than welcoming with all the information you required and always on hand especially when TUI transfer was late, they were excellent in sorting our problem. Cleaning staff were also amazing and always waved and spoke each morning. Grounds were well kept at all times. We decided against the pool holiday and relaxed and baked in the ample gardens with plentiful sun beds. Even occasionally visited by the resident Duck to show off her chicks 🐥 Bus stops outside for Corfu town or Ipsos blue bus number 7 we used when required. Gouvia Village/Town is small but everything you need from local supermarket to some absolute fantastic restaurants and Bars. Tudor Inn, O2 Rock bar for drinks, Las Kantas, BBQArt, The Best, Mythos restaurant and Vergina all highly recommended. In all great base and holiday if you want relaxation with sea to look at all day, we will be back one day.

What can I say….a lovely space. Beautiful scenery, well maintained gardens and exceptionally friendly staff. We arrived and were greeted by security, a lovely chap, who showed us to our apartment. The apartment was well-sized with everything we needed. The air con is in the main room but the bedroom was cool. Reception staff are so friendly, and very helpful. Any information you need, just ask. The cleaners are the same, always happy to chat and tell you about the area. The gardens were spacious, with plenty of beds for everyone. Gouvia centre is a five minute walk, plenty of restaurants and bars, all with friendly welcoming staff. The buses to Corfu town and Ipsos run every 20 mins - definitely worth a visit. After two weeks, we were relaxed, rested and ready to return to real life (but another week or two would have been very welcomed!!). I have nothing negative to say about this place. A little piece of heaven!
