Travellers' Choice
"Le Moulin de la Brevette" is a former farmhouse. Its former water mill dating from the eighteenth century has been transformed into a charming three-star hotel. Surrounded by nature in the heart of a flowered and wooded park, you could comfortably let yourself be rocked by the sound of the small river flowing through the property, admire the many species of birds nested in the trees and enjoy the quiet and the serenity during your stay. Located between Bresse and Saône et Loire, by the gates of Bourgogne and near the motorways exits A6, A39 and A40, it's a perfect stopover during a long drive, or for a submerged stay in nature. Violette and Philippe will welcome you with warmth and friendliness. They also have a studio for 1 until 6 persons with kitchen + JACUZZI.

Great overnight stopover driving down from Calais to go skiing in Courchevel. We were initially disappointed to hear they couldn't do food, but then they somehow served up a perfect meal anyway in oversized plastic trays. It was like a Fairy Godmother had zapped an airline meal into a huge treat full of delicious French delicacies! Breakfast buffet the following morning was also excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would happily stay again - thanks very much!

I've stayed here for one night, on the way towards the Ardeche, and it was perfect. It is situated in the middle of France's agricultural fields and vineyards, which make for beautiful and calm surroundings (and a gorgeous night sky). The hotel is situated in an old mill, which was beautifully renovated. It really had this typically French vibe that I loved. The man at the reception (I don't know if he was the owner or not) was incredibly friendly and gave good advise on where to go swimming and where to eat. You can also eat at the hotel itself, but we didn't do that (Perhaps if we had stayed longer we would have). The room was simple and clean, with a view of the surrounding fields. The bathroom seems to have been recently upgraded, since it looked rather modern. Breakfast was served outside, on the courtyard, which was very nice. The food itself was nothing special, but good.

If you don't mind a ten minute drive from the main highway and want a good rest in a nice environment This is the place. Rooms are nice and large but not outstanding. Staff is friendly. Breakfeast is very good. They don't have a restaurant. If you want a full meal it's 10' away but if you call before arriving they will arrange a very nice cold plate for 16€.

I do not normally complain. However, as someone who crosses France four times a year and having stayed in over one hundred French hotels and chambres d'hotes, I found the Moulin de la Brevette in Arbigny the worst that I have enountered. I rang the hotel and was told that they had a large room at a reduced price of 80 euros. There was no mention that this was a chambre familiale. When we arrived, after the staff had left, we discovered a room with one double and three single beds and hardly any space in between - essentially, a children's dormitory. The room was cold, damp, smelly and there were mosquitoes. The beds, possibly not used for some time, were also damp. Everything was of poor quality - polyester duvets and pillows (which made the damp beds worse), the thinnest toilet paper, plastic flooring, etc. The next morning the manager refused to offer any discount and accused me of threatening him when I said that I would be reporting my experience on trip advisor, booking.com, etc

This hotel is in the middle of farmland so the peace and quiet was a bit of a surprise for city folk like us but it didn’t take long to get used to. Our room was clean and spacious and had a fantastically strong shower. The breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choices. The reception was friendly and service was great. There are so many beautiful towns to explore nearby. Well worth visiting the beautiful Chateau Cormatin. Despite being only a few minutes drive from the local village, there were no restaurants or bars, so you need to plan for dinner. However we were able to have a drink in the main room of the hotel. Also, the internet connection was not very strong but that’s not such a bad thing on holidays!
