The BuonGustaio is a lovely, family run hotel. It is situated in a gorgeous location on the side of a mountain - the road to get there is pretty narrow - but that adds to the adventure. All of the rooms are kept very clean with daily towel changes etc. However, the new rooms that have been refurbished are the... More

Our famile had a great retreat in this newly renovated hotel in the mountains. Forget Massa. This family run hotel with only nine rooms is a true gem among the more turistic hotels of Massa. Driving distance to both the beach and marble mountains. Owners a very friendly and the food great and reasonably priced. Many locals visit the restaurant... More

Although it is a 10 minutes’ drive in the hills above Massa it is worthwhile to stay at Hotel Il Buongustaio. We stayed here several times, diner in the restaurant is always very good and after the renovation of several rooms, these new rooms (we had even a whirlpool) make a stay almost perfect. The family that runs the hotel... More

We found this hotel at the last minute, located half way up a mountain. Lots of switchbacks getting there, but we were so experienced with them, it was not a problem. Use the GPS coordinates to find it, rather than the street address. Welcoming reception, charming place. Fountain in the garden. Parking no problem (private, inside the gate). Good English,... More

Starting with the welcoming staff, to the amazing swimming pool and the outdoor area, our stay was super! The restaurant was affordable and all the dishes are available as gluten free. The gluten free pizza is one of the best I have aver eaten as well as the gnocchi . Very recommended the truffle risotto, the mushroom tagliatelle and the... More

Upon arriving we discovered that our reservation had accidentally been canceled. Despite this and even before trying to figure out why it was canceled, we were assured first and foremost that we have a room anyway. We entered a lovely room with very comfortable beds. The view from the porch was stunning, though it was hazy during our stay so... More
