We stayed at Marijani for 5 days in August, mostly to relax after busy safari. The staff was very friendly and were ready to sort out the issues we encountered: - they were doing some work and that caused some problem with the room, we moved to another room in a more quiet area. - water in bathroom - maybe...

We stayed for 4 days and we felt instantly at home. The staff treated us like part of the family. Lovely lodge 200mts from the beach and close to many shops and restaurants but still away from the main touristy resorts.

The booking.... My friends and I ( party of 12) booked this hotel sometime in October initially for a four day stay over new years . We were looking to have a budget holiday so getting this place at the rate given ($45 for a double room) we knew we had a bargain. The hotel manager (Tony) assured the group...

I thoroughly enjoyed a very long stay at Marijani in 2010. It was like a home away from home, welcoming, safe, delightful owners and helpful staff. I enjoyed the "watch dogs" who are friendly to guests, and the cat who adopted me, as well as the parrots. The view from the roof is breathtaking, the village welcoming and fun, beaches...

I read some of the negative reviews on this guest house before we booked it, so I was prepared for the worst. But we had no bad experiences and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and our whole stay. The rooms are very pleasant and it's so great to have the option of cooking your own meals and having a fridge...

Location was great 2 mins to the beach, 2 mins back to centre of town, gardens were lovely, room was clean with big bed and mozzie net, bathroom was fine and place felt very safe and friendly. Tortoises in the gardens were so cute. More of a bar or sitting out area on the roof would have been good.

Second time visiting Watamu, and a bad experience with dirty room at another guesthouse made me search for something else. That's when I found Marijani which offered us a good price when we come as a big group. What I really like with this place was the feeling of privacy and staying in a house instead of a resort. The...

We stayed at Marijani over Easter for four nights, it was really nice. Try and get a room on the first floor, it was spacious and the balcony was just lovely. The place is beautiful and really good value for money. Philip was really helpful and friendly, so ask to see him when you arrive. I feel that Marijani has...

Usually I don't like to write negative comments, but in this case I think it's necessary to give my honest opinion. Please note that I am NOT a picky traveller, I am a backpacker and have seen many hotels in Kenya, and this one was my least favorite of all. Let me start by saying that indeed, the location is...
