Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is our second visit to this excellent hotel and we will be going back. The hotel is well located in a quiet location overlooking the sea and small port at the end of the road through the village. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable and all have great sea and mountain views. The buffet breakfast is very good and it can be eaten on a nice terrace with suburb views. We also really liked the swimming pool which is large and has panoramic views. Swimming towels are provided. All hotel staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Poulithra village is quite small and has several nice tavernas. The hotel does have a restaurant but it does not open out if season. Altogether an excellent place to stay.

The staff is lovely, the rooms are charming, the views incredible, the pool area fantastic, breakfast is excellent. They prepared fresh caught fish for us one night and it was delish.

Rooms 401, 402 and 404 are my favs because of huge terrace and amazing views but all rooms are good.

My second stay at this hotel. Basic but comfortable rooms - very quiet with blockout shutter ensuring a perfect rest!

Bufet breakfast and restaurant offers lunch and dinner - good, wholesome food, well prepared.

Clueio is a master in all and Sonja a delightful friendly waitress.

Fantastic pool overlooking the sea with a fully stocked bar.

Worth a long stay!

The hote is well situated at the and of the Golf of Poulithra, inside a perfect green environment and offers a vey nice accomodation. Less than 100 m. from the beach offers also a swimming pool with a bar looking the open sea. Friendly people and normal prices.

It doesn't get any better than this . Wonderful place for people who are looking for a relaxing holiday .
Beautiful surroundings and amazing view from the swimming pool on the Myrtoan sea . Next to the pool area you can descend en have a swim in the sea as well .
Very kind owner and staff , authentic and still reflecting the famous Greek hospitality . ( something not so common anymore in Greece I must say )
A place to cherish !

Excellent hotel, beautiful location , good service, ambience. Quiet location in front of the sea. Spacious rooms very clean. Pity about the breakfast, which was worst than what prisons in PR Congo serve.

We stayed for two nights . The site is beutiful but the service is very poor .
The rooms are quite noisy and the fridge empty .The breakfast is elementary . You can't even have toasted bread .The owner kept my identy card . He was very willing to present me with my bill but not to return my identity card . I had to pay 25 euros to get it back by courrier . It is a pity as this new hotel accomodation could have been a nice hotel in the area but it is run in a very unprofessional way !

...especially for couples! Good for families too, but rooms not large, so families with 2 children will need 2 connecting rooms to stay in comfort. (if price is the NO1 matter, families can go to Byzantinon and get more space for the same rate, but no swimming pool and no buffet breakfast).
It is ideal for couples, because rooms are romantic with enough space for 2 (ask for a double bed, there are twin beds too for travelling friends), stone walls (inside-outside), wonderful sea view, nice toiletries and sheets&towels of a good quality. Water pressure in the shower is unbelievably high! They have a special system for it (not a standard in the area).
Gardens are really beautiful and as all the stone buildings are spread around (facing the sea and also side view to the lush green mountain behind) you walk around like in a little stone traditional village... Parking is a bit away from rooms (don't bring heavy luggage) as is the swimming pool with the summer cafe bar (3' walk). Reception and restaurant are closer, but in a separate building.
Lovely restaurant terrace with a view for meals, we only had breakfast, which is good but basic. Fresh orange juice, eggs (mainly omelettes and boiled at the buffet, but they can make you sunny side up if you wish), yogurt, fruits, ham and cheese (no variety, only one kind), bread and rusks, honey, butter and jams (there was an excellent local sweet eggplant spread in small jars, the area is famous for eggplants) and cake. No other pastries unfortunately. They should enrich breakfast. They make coffee any style at no extra cost though, which is a big plus!
Swimming pool is a dreamy place, with an atmosferic olive tree just in front of the bar and a breathtaking sea view on the other side. There is no real beach, only rocky beach and a platform with a ladder for the brave swimmers, but if you walk 5'+ in a beautiful green path they opened themselves (ask the owner, it is just before you reach the swimming pool, to the right as you come from the rooms) you will find a secluded pebble beach.
Swimming pool is large and deep enough (one side for entering not so deep and opposite deep) and VERY clean, 'cause it is constantly replenished with fresh well water. Good service for coffees, milkshakes, drinks and snacks at reasonable prices, but one complaint: they didn't provide towels, we had to go back to the room and bring our own as we didn't know. To keep the high level the hotel should provide pool towels!
The resort is 5-10' walk from the village, the main beach and the restaurants (Myrtoon recommended), right next to the best bar (Apothiki, only nightlife spot in Poulithra), overlooking the little harbour and providing the best views in the area. We checked all the other accommodation (good choices too) and we will return to Smyros Resort again, since it is clearly the best of all!
