We have just left Sabai after 6 day stay over there. I have to admit that it was really wonderful time ... it is not five star hotel, but you definitely will get a royal treatment, especially from the staff. Selma, wonderful lady who welcomed us, helped us with everything. She not only, arrange everything around our stay in Sabai but also guided us and advised what to see and where to go on Koh Yao Noi. She also helped us to organize everything what is needed for sightseeing (scooters/boat trip/private long tail/transfers) - is was amazing - thanks to Selma.
Speaking about conditions, as I mentioned above it is not a hotel, they have bungalows/huts. Some of them are really convenient, some of them little bit less. The smaller huts have external toilet/bathrooms. But they definitely offer Thai spirit. We’ve been in Family Beachfront Bungalow (no 10) and for the family of four was more then enough ...
Sabai Corner has also own restaurant offering delicious food with decent prices. On the evenings you can also spend great time in the bar where Nuna (the bartender) mixes great drinks and plays excellent music.
I really recommend this place if you are looking for peaceful time :)

We stayed here for 4 nights in February and really loved the resort, and especially our bungalow ("No. 1" ) because of its special location and absolute privacy. The staff was really nice, the German hostess gave us a very detailed and informative intro including what the island has to offer. The breakfast choices are nice - only my hubby was missing some more "meat" being included in the menu (FYI - only one of four options includes meat = ham). But if you are vegetarian or don't care, it's great for you as they have mostly vegetarian options on the menu. Otherwise Sabai Corner is just very reminiscent of the old days in backpacking, wood/bamboo bungalows that are merely fan-cooled (which was sufficient!) and have lovely hammocks on their porches. The vibe is just serene, peaceful and there is a little bar so if you like some music and drinks, they offer it, too. It wasn't too noisy while we were there ... Would definitely return to Sabai Corner if on Koh Yao Noi again. Highly recommended!

This was our second stay at Sabai Corner. Was very quiet with only 2-3 rooms occupied but the service was still very good. We had breakfast and some meals in the restaurant and all were very tasty and fresh. The staff are always ready to help and happy to talk with guests. The location is great as you are in the middle of the island on the east side and it's easy to get anywhere on a motorcycle. We'll be back next year!

Idyllic and chilled out, the fact of staying in a lovely log cabin on the beach AND in the jungle was just charming. The rooms are exactly what the pictures promise and the first day we arrived was rainy so we had the most wonderful relaxing day on our hammocks taking it all in. I was thrilled... my city bred 7yr old less so at the variety of insects in the foliage! (Trust me, nothing major and NOTHING inside the rooms!)
She had more than enough fun playing with the cats and then making friends with a local boy on the beach outside as they collected shrimp from the tidal pools.

Emanuella and the staff are lovely and helpful... You get the feeling they want to help you save your money... which is a nice feeling to have as a tourist!
They suggested and organised a breathtaking trip for us on a longtail, kayaking through caves in Phang Nga. Amazing experience. They were very helpful with other suggestions and also making calls and organizing activities and travel for us. A lovely chilled out, rustic experience with a local feel.

Absolutely loved this place! Simple kinda place with beautiful setting and bigger than your usual (old school) bungalows. Bungalow 1 had a great deck with separate outdoor bathroom and semi sea views, bungalow 13 had great sea views and a nice deck and indoor bathroom. A wonderfully relaxed place that we’d all love to return to! They booked a great snorkelling and island day trip we all also really enjoyed! Breakfast and food was good too. Will stay again when on the island!

Just had dinner there. Or tried to have. 😩
‘Pad Thai vegetable’ had no veggies and didn’t taste like pad thai. Sabai salad which would contain crispy chicken and Thai dressing had tasteless fried chicken with a coating (fritter like) and the Thai dressing was a simple red chilli dipsauce. Also this dish had very little veggies.
We were dissapointed and didn’t finish the food. It seems like a nice place with friendly staff so very sorry that the food was not good.

Great place to stay on a beautiful island. We stayed here for 3 nights. 2 adults and our teenage son. It was lovely. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very atmospheric waterfront restaurant. We rented motorbikes from the hotel and toured the island. We stayed in cabin#1, which looked like it was the nicest one.

Read reviews about the beautiful island Koh Yao Noi in a Swedish travelers magazin and yes I have to say the island it self was fantastic. Booked Sabai Corner in advance and we all looked forward to the trip and stay, especially celebrating New Years eve in a what we thought cosy place.
What can I say.......well very different and very basic though you could alsoif you are in that mood say charming.
Arriving there though we were very happy that we had only booked for two nights.
The BIG dissapointment was the New Year evening. We booked the dinner the day before and asked to be seated together, same day I asked what time the dinner and celebration would start and was told around 20:00. We arrived dressed up, excited and realise hmmm, not much people around, actually none. They had put some plates and cutlery on the side table and also some turkey, cold fried potatoes, overcooked carrots and red cabbage for the fab price of 1,000 Bath!!!! Drinks not included, and help yourself. After the very dissapointing meal I hadmyself to remove the plates from the table and we got a plate with some fruit and that was it. The owner were not there, so not much to complain to and we were all (2 families in total) so chocked about it all we did not know what to do. It was just like a bad joke!
We went to a local bar to at least get some kind of New Year feeling, and that was rather ok.
Complained on the depature and said we were not happy and wanted a discount though the Italian owner very conviniently kept away and the girl who made the bill had very poor English.
Sent an SMS on my return to Phuket and got a mail back saying -" Yes sorry, normally we have very cosy New Year celebrations but the other guests staying here booked at other places so it was only you left!"-
I could not believe my eyes when I read it. Does that mean ok, are they stupid enough to stay here tonight they can sort themselves out!?! Why were we not told that nothing special was being organised. There were several opportunities to tell us.
I do a lot of travelling both private and in business and I have never got such a bad excuse and felt so completely ripped off!
So I can only say don't go there!

We stayed in lux bungalow n. 11 for 5 nights. When I booked by email the Italian owner Lela told me that it was seafront, but we could see the sea only between the trees. However the bungalow was large and clean enough, with plenty of space to store things. They provide cleaning only on request. We really appreciate the fridge outside and the water heater in bathroom. It was nice to relax in hammocks on the two balconies.
We didn’t have breakfast at restaurant but only a couple of meals that were tasty enough and cheaper than other places in that area.
The sea is swimmable only with high tide (see my pictures) but then few beach is left.
We had two boat tours with them: first one was the snorkelling one and we didn’t like it a lot because the boatman brought us on too crowdy beaches; the other one was along Phang-Nga Bay and was really nice!
The island is nice and relaxed: rent a motorbike to get around it.
We got to Ko Yao Noi from Bang Rong Pier in Phuket (200THB per person) and went to Ao-Nang Beach (very expensive: 650 THB per person, including mototaxi to hotel).

We visited Sabai Corner Bungalows on Ko Yao Noi in 2006. We were impressed that they had arranged a taxi for us from the ferry (without our knowledge) and received a warm welcome from the manager when we arrived. Our "Family Bungalow" was very cute, with beautiful hand-carved phallic symbols on the porch, and a comfy chair to lounge in. We were informed that since our bungalow did not have ocean views and was facing the street we were given a few extras such as a mini-fridge and hot water heater for tea/coffee. The inside of the cabin had two rooms seperated by a bamboo shade. The two beds were very small, rock hard and had moldy pillows. When I complained about the pillows they were replaced with two rock hard pillows. The bathroom was under the cabin, and while it was sufficient, it did not have a hot-water shower. The Italian owner who lived in the cabin next door did not introduce herself once to us the entire week, although she seemed friendly to the other guests. Her two dogs barked incessantly and woke us up every morning. The bungalow was also on a hill where there were many, many cicadas that chirped at dawn and dusk every day, so loudly we thought it was a metal saw. (Of course this was not under Sabai's control).

The manager, who greeted us so warmly when we arrived, turned out to be extremely rude and innapropriate. He sexually harrased my girlfriend to the point of making everyone feel uncomfortable, including my husband.

The food at the restaurant was very good (great veggie lasagna), but they were very slow and got our orders wrong a few times, nothing new in Thailand. The prices were a bit steep, especially 40 baht ($1.10) for one piece of toast.

Overall, we loved Ko Yao Noi and had a great time relaxing on the beautiful, deserted beaches and meeting locals. Next time I would spend a lot less and stay at a locally owned bungalow on the beach nearby for 300 Baht (about $8) a night. For 1500 Baht (about $40) a night, Sabai Corner was definitely not worth it.

How do you get from International airport to Sabai corner?
koh yao noi2 contributions
To come here From Phuket airport you have to take a taxi to Bang Rong pier (about ½ hour drive, about 700 B); from Bang Rong pier (on Phuket island’s east coast) there is 1 boat every hour to Koh Yao Noi from 7.30 to 17.30. The boat ride lasts about 1 hour; it costs between 120 and 250 B per person depending if it is a long tail or a speed boat. Once on the island you have to take a taxi to Sabai Corner (we are on the east coast, about 8 KM from the pier). There are some of them at the pier or, if you want, we can organize one waiting for you; in both cases the price is 100 B per person.
