I stayed at Vane Hose whilst in North Yorkshire on business. The accommodation was first rate and the service excellent. It makes a change from Staying in the large chains and I would not hesitate to stay again. in fact |I am trying to arrange a meeting to give me the excuse to stay again. As for the location there...

Visited here with my partner. Rooms are lovely, but I think £90 a night is overpriced for what you get. However, there are nice touches in the rooms such as a backlit mirror and a hairdryer provided. Breakfast portions could have been bigger. Our room had velux windows in the roof, with very thin blinds, and I'm a very light...

Booked in a group months before arrival with confirmations and acknowledgements. BUt when we arrived late and tired the booking of one single (previouly guaranteed at a special price of £45) had been "outsourced" to a B&B a mile away. Very inconvenient and no apology. Owner of the other B&B kindly provided 4 car journeys to & from her modest...

Our party had walked almost 20 miles to this accommodation and we were made welcome. The rooms are very clean, well equipped and the owner caters to your needs. Beds are comfortable, breakfast is good and provides value for money.

Our group was 2 mature couples walking the Cleveland Way. I got Alan's phone from the National Trail website and rang direct to book. In discussion I mentioned we could stay 2 nights but would require transport to and from Sutton Bank. Alan said he would do this and the cost of £90/couple/night was agreed. This was more than the...

One of the many stopovers on our Cleveland way expedition. Firstly, the owner and staff were pleasant and friendly. Our own room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate but in my opinion not as good as some others that had clearly sourced local good quality produce. The reason for the 3 out of 5 star review: Vane house...

This B & B was pleasant enough, immaculately clean and Osmotherley is a beautiful village - well worth a slight detour on our Coast to Coast walk. However, Alan charged us £8 for our packed lunch which we thought was a rip off for a round of sandwiches, chocolate bar, bag of crisps, apple, banana and small drink. We should...

Osmotherley is lovely, and the host, Alan, was completely helpful, beyond the call of duty. Not only gave me perfect directions to a short cut back to my path (I was walking the Coast to Coast) but gave me his mobile number, saying if I got tired he would come and get me and drive me to the next destination....

This place is cold both in temperature and welcome. We are hiking the Cleveland Way and we were cold when we arrived and never actually got warm. Our wet clothes didn't dry over night and even worse our dry clothes were actually damp this morning too. On top of being cold our room was tiny, too small for two people...
