Stayed here in Feb (week after half term) with my husband for 7 nights.
Our room (A block) was basic, quite outdated. It was very spacious though and had a well equipped kitchenette. Lovey big balcony with bonus of two sun loungers. The view was beautiful overlooking the beach, and we had no problems with noise as the bedroom was at the back of the apartment. We were on the top floor though, and so going to the restaurant/ beach meant lots of steps, and also a flight of steps from the top main road down to our room.
Food was not to our taste. Very limited menu for breakfast and dinner, and the restaurant seemed very busy no matter what time you went for meals. We decided to eat out most nights, but there are a few nice restaurants at the complex in front of the hotel. Turn left and a 5 minute walk brings you to another strip of restaurants, and right about 20 minutes takes you to Purerto Del Carmon so even more choice.
We took a walk to the Biospehera complex one night, about an hours walk. Would 100% reccommend the open air cinema.
Staff were polite enough, but I wouldn't go so far as to say friendly.
The pool area is spotless and the pool itself is lovely although freezing. Lots of sunbeds and a pool table, plus a snack bar.
Overall, we enjoyed our holiday but it wasn't to our taste so probably wouldn't return.

Here is a honest review-

Lovely canarian room yes dated but it had the carinan / Spanish feel and it was lovely, pools were big but not heated in the winter but once you were in it for 5 mins was lovely and warm, spa next door was perfect location, so not go bed and breakfast the breakfast we did for one day and was appalling! I felt breakfast wasn’t worth the money , waiters were rude also.
The reception area is nice and clean and cleaners in room are good.
Good location in pocillos perfect area - good base and really nice apartments
Play park was nice and clean for kids

Just coming to the end of our stay here and we will definitely be back.
The apartments are spacious, conveniently located to the Beach, restaurants and a Spar shop.
Which are literally on your door step

We went self catering so can't comment on the food quality but the amenities are spotless. The pool is lovely, though very cold 🥶 it was still nice once we acclimatised to the temperature.

There are some lovely restaurants nearby, make sure you try out the Indian next door.
We were a short taxi ride from the main strip, cost €5 in a taxi to the busier end. (Prob about 40 mins walk)

Staff at this hotel were fantastic, excellent customer service.
They happily call you a taxi and are very accommodating.
Drinks reasonably priced.
Apartments have everything you need in, cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster, fridge and TV. There are a couple of resident cats 🐈 We made a feline friend JD who was so friendly.

All in all this place is great value for money. Its been lovely having a bit of winter sun. The temperature most days has been between 19-20oc with the hottest days reaching 22oc.

We’ve just returned from 10 days at Costa Mar and had a really lovely stay. The apartments inside are basic but spotlessly clean and very spacious. The complex is small and nicely set out with each balcony overlooking a slightly different view, especially 1st floor and above. The communal areas are minimalistic and modern, and the location of the apartments is excellent - near enough to the main strip of Puerto del carman and for a lovely walk along the seafront, but also far enough away for some peace. Playa de los Pocillos promenade is also really pretty (and pedestrianised) and is even nearer to Costa Mar than PDC, a 5 to 10 minute walk where you can hire bikes, scooters etc, with a play area on the beach and some really lovely restaurants. There is a Spar supermarket with fresh bread and croissants each morning as part of the Costa Mar complex, with some really nice restaurants on the doorstep too. The Costa Mar makes a fantastic base to enjoy all that PDC has to offer but in a lovely restful setting, with helpful staff and a beautiful pool, we’ll be back!

We booked this hotel for a week and checked out after one night.
The room we got for 5 people did not suit 5 and one of us had to sleep on the sofa. Not what we had paid for. Very outdated which would have been fine but its passed that stage of acceptable and needs refurbishment. Bath / Shower was like something in a 1960 horror movie. Unfortunate we also got an iPad taken from under the pillow, it was left behind when we check out and when we realised and went back it wasn't to be 'found'.

So overall, I'd definitely not recommend this hotel. 2 Star property at best and room security an obvious issue.

This was our second stay at costa mar, our first was 5 years ago. The hotel and rooms are clean. We had a ground floor room in block e. We had two double bedrooms and a sofa bed. We stayed self catering, room had a hob and basic cooking utensils. Across the road from the hotel is a spar. Towels are changed regular. The staff are all friendly and made us feel welcome. The hotel is across the road from a beach and has a few shops and restaurants outside. Transfer from the airport was around 12 euros. You can walk to the main strip in 20-30mins, or 5euro in a taxi. We would stay here again.

Do not come stay here. We will not be returning.

Rooms: are extremely old fashioned, No Air Conditioning, No hairdryers, wifi does not reach the rooms and you have to pay to use wifi in the room. The bath/shower drain was so blocked the water never drained and the water came out yellow and always smelled bad.

Cleaning: Our apartment was only cleaned 2 times in our 7 day stay. And they don’t hoover. Just make the bed, and tidy up a bit. We would be waiting until 5pm some days for clean towels after the beach.

BUGS: Our apartment had bugs everywhere. All over the kitchen counter, plates, cups, the bathroom sink & counter, the BED, the walls and every surface. Small mites, silver fish, cockroaches, spiders. We were awake most nights itching cause bugs were on all the bed sheets and under the mattress. It was disgusting.

Buffet: The food was terrible to say the least. For breakfast there was very limited options. Eggs scrambled, boiled or fried and maybe some sausages. Unripe fruit pears or overripe bananas (brown). The coffee machine gave out water with a hint of coffee. The bread for toast was stale. And the croissants and other pastries tasted as if they were 5 weeks old. For dinner raw chicken was there ever night and other options included rabbit, goat, veal. Which were all poor. No options for kids except chips.

Internet: There is a common area for free wifi but it doesn’t work at all. So don’t expect to be able to have internet if staying here.

Overall 0/10 stay. Would never come here ever again and I would warn anyone to not come here either

The apartment is basic, functional and clean. It represented good value for money. The apartment had two double bedrooms, bathroom, open-plan kitchen dining area and an outdoor balcony with patio set.

The pool was close by. It was well maintained and not too busy. Shops and restaurants were all within walking distance. Car hire is also available close to the rooms.

The Mojo Dive centre is also close by (we were in Lanzarote for a diving holiday).

The beach is just across the road and a long, well-maintained promenade stretches along the coast (perfect for morning runs).

The receptionist was polite, friendly and very helpful.

I would happily return to this hotel. No frills, but good value.

Just back today from these lovely apartments and really enjoyed my stay there. Very large spacious apartments and large terrace too. I found my bed comfortable and the maids were there 5 days out of 7 and kept the place spotless and towels changed bed linen changed wifi ( which you pay for separately) was good and the receptionist man ( sorry didn’t know his name ) was extremely helpful professional and welcoming. I can not fault these apartments in anyway and I was self catering so did not go to the on-site restaurant. Everything is within a few minutes walk shops restaurants beach etc and the actual aparthotel is set within lovely grounds. Didn’t use the pool but it looked lovely and the los picollos area was very very nice to stay in. Personally I would recommend these apartments especially since they are so large also the shower was very powerful and hot water was great. Definitely going back.

Room was cleaned 5 times in our week stay clean towels 4 times in the week.we stayed bed and breakfast and was fine on the 3 times we had it there.you could always get a sun lounge around the pool. Location was ideal in the middle of both strips and over the toad from the beach spar shop also on site staff all friendly would go back again very relaxing break. Some people want 5 star holidays for 3 star prices.

I wouldn’t say the complex is disability friendly unless you specifically request an apartment on the lower level of the complex, there are a lot of steps and no lift to the higher floors. The resort as a whole though is great - long stretches of promenade all accessible and on one level.
