The resort is quite beautifully decorated with various type of greeneries. But the place is poorly maintained. All electronics looks like from twi decades ago. Chairs are rusty and moldy. Overall, not impressed with the resort. Nevertheless, he beach is nice and clean.

Since Thailand is not dog-friendly country, we chose Baan toom solely because they are the only accommodation on Chao-lao beach that takes dogs. The price for dogs is 500 THB per night per dog. We stayed at Toom-tuek, a separate room with queen-size double which they charged for 2,500 THB (50 pounds) per night The room -- Good size for...

Arrived Friday night, with a large group. Family of 4, so we booked the 2-bedroom cottage fronting the beach. Traditional old Thai style house, with all basic necessities. Overhead fans in the living area, which get a great sea breeze anyway. Dining table, fridge with complimentary water, TV, free wireless internet, phone. Bathroom (only 1) quaint; hot shower, fine. Bedrooms:...

Also pleasant garden ambience. Rooms basic but with just enough amenity to cope. Now the not so positive: tired and liking in life/vitality. That includes...

The beach is excellent and the garden is beautiful. The pool seems small at first sight but is quite adequate if you can get a chance to use it when other guests are not. The breakfast was OK-- instant coffee (not brewed), no milk, not many selections, but the rice soup with fish is good. The room was fine except...

This resort is very intimate and unique in its home-made style. We stayed for two nights in one of the original villas that were decorated with old, beautiful wood. The room was clean but the bathroom was quite rusty (Maybe that's the design). There are lots of nice Thai trees in this resort, surrounding many antique artifacts. The beach is...
