We called in for a first visit in many years. Only had a sandwich and a ploughmans. Both were very good and large portions. We will certainly go again and have a main meal. They boast of having over 200 brands of gin! After our next visit they may well deserve the extra star.

A very brightly lit pub with too many tables. Not a helpful place if you are Visually Impaired like me and can't cope with very bright lights. I prefer a bit more space between the tables for navigation and privacy. The toilets are quite a trek. I must admit calling them Lavatories doesn't impress me. Nice staff. Menus in very...

Went for a meal with my partner as I have been for lunch before and enjoyed it. It was a regular busy Friday night, our main course was delicious but it took half an hour for the staff to clear our plates and ask if we wanted dessert because they were too busy chatting with what seemed to be friends/locals....

Mrs B said what a delightful smell wafting through the air. I said its probably the wood burner that we are sitting with our backs to. And that is the charm of this hostelry. The staff look as if they have just stepped out of the book of etiquette needless to say the "grub " is good .every dish on...

Been coming here for 15 years and I've never had a bad meal. It's just got better over the years, love the atmosphere which is great for families, couples, anyone really even if you are on your own! Food choice is wide and varied and good value. Their speciality is Gin tasting and they have over 360 varieties of Gin!

Was passing and called in for a quick lunch, we actually drove passed but when we saw the car park full turned round down the road and came back. So glad we did. The food was so good and interesting we stayed for far longer than we intended. They had several hand pumped beers that were excellent and about 400...

Saw the reviews and we just had to try this place out - well we were not disappointed. Fabulous food, very friendly staff, totally dog friendly, real character old school house charm! The share platter to start was almost a meal in itself, worth every penny, each of us had different mains, game suet pudding, venison, steak and haddock, every...

This was our first time visiting the Cholmondeley Arms, and we will definitely be back. We had the cosiest seats by the fire, service was truly fantastic - we were never left waiting for wanting for anything. Food was rich, unique, and delicious. We also stayed for the bonfire night celebrations with fireworks and live music which was also wonderful....

This very popular small hotel sits on its own in pleasant Cheshire farmland, once an estate school (now bar and restaurant) and headmaster's house (now accommodation, just a few metres away). There are only a few rooms, but the bar and restaurant were full of enthusiastic locals greatly enjoying the great food and great ambience. Both the hotel and rooms...
