The apartments are owned independently from the complex, so this is just a review of the complex rather than the apartments. The location is excellent as it's close to beaches and the main tourist area. There is a good mini supermarket across the road as well as some places to eat. There is a busy road on one side of the complex, however depending which apartment you are staying in will depend how loud the noise is. Our apartment was right next to the road and it didn't bother us. There are a good choice of pools in the centre of the complex, although some could do with a bit of maintenance.

Have just stayed for 12 days with my family of 5 - children aged 3, 11 and 14. We had a two bedroom apartment with two terraces one providing a lockable gate to the main pool which all the kids loved. Pool was cleaned every day, guy friendly and sunbeds available. Apartment was basic but clean and there were cats but we saw the same ones each time and they ignored us! Very quiet and perfect location for restaurants, beach etc we used the pool but not the bar but found the general atmosphere very friendly. No noise at all at night and security good. Ideal base for a reasonably priced, pleasant holiday in Tenerife

When I first started going to Mare Verde 4/5 years ago, it did need some maintenance and there were a lot of cats running wild all over the place. what a transformation !!! Since the photo was taken that is on this site it has all been decorated and the pools are now looked after, as are the area's around the apartments. The bar is open all the time now serving lovely food, and of course cool drinks. We stay in phase 1 which we love as it is very quiet, but phase 2 is fine as well. The pool is still not full in phase 3, so doesn't look nice but is better than it was. They do not charge for sunbeds now so these are now free to use. If you used the place a while ago, come again....you will certainly notice the difference !

Four of us Stayed here for 2 weeks 4th to 19th Sep 2022.
Host Tony is friendly and helpful. The Apartment is very spacious, very clean and has all the cooking equipment you need , it is located right next to the pool and has 4 large terraces including the one off the master bedroom. The complex is very clean and has a poolside bar and even a machine you can buy your water from it is close to everything you need, shops, bars, supermarkets and restaurants. Mike who looks after the Apartment is friendly and helpful. To our amazement there was a shopping trolley in the Apartment that came in VERY HANDY for the BIG SHOP. I would highly recommend this Apartment and would stay here again.
Just one small note to Tony the owner, extra hooks for the towels and shelves or a cupboard in the bathroom for toiletries would be helpful when you have a few guest staying together. Overall though we had a fantastic time.
The pictures were taken from the Apartment balcony.
Thank you for sharing your holiday home with us😎🙂

Been visiting this place for 10 years now twice a year. Currently here now aug 8th. Good location to get to places and i stay in the same private rented apartment every time which is great. Sadly the pools have no security and especially after 4pm it turns into the wild west.Local adults and kids are let through the gates and congregate in gangs and take over the place jumping off bridges into the water and playing loud music which i suppose is great if thats what your after. Had an altercation with a local adult who i watched just a fee metres from me in the pool smoke his cigarette then put it out in the pool water. Pools desperately need repairing and what used to be a very pleasant holiday is now sadly not. I could go on and on about the faults with this place now but dont have the patience. Young people in apartment below smoking cannabis on the balcony which i really dont need to share with them but sadly if i want to sit out i have to. Apartment balcony looks out to the Fanabe Plaza over a very rough car park where the locals come and urinate on in front of you day and night which is marvellous again if thats your thing. Not for me wont be returning here. 0 on site security and now overrun by adult and teenage locals who somehow gain access to the place. Not really what i paid for. Avoid !!!!

I've just come back from a two week stay in Mare Verde on Fase 2 room F11/12.
Me and 3 other girls stayed in a two bed roomed apartment which had a brilliant view of the mountains and the pool view with two really big balcony's.
In our kitchen we had washing machine, cooker, over, microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and everything you'd need.
We had a sofa that turns into a bed with a table and chairs, also a DVD player with lots of dvds and a free view English box.

The complex had a great pool bar with english breakfast for only 3 euro and snacks/toasties exc with cheap drinks.
There is 7 pools which are very good with two great slides, such fun!!

outside the complex is a little town with shops/bars/restaurants and taxi's to take you places.
I highly recommend a bar called the wigan pier, which is a walk down from complex. friendly staff, quiz's, live music every night! and also across the road is a 24 hr supermarket which is useful, theres wifi at the pool bar, and a water place which you pay 50cents for something like 5lters of water, alot cheaper than shops.

I really dont understand these bad reviews. I enjoyed my time here and would come again and again!
Thank you Mare-Verde

Shame when you arrive that what you get is not what you thought you booked and paid for.
Heaps of pics if anyone wants.
Hardly anything apartment to be able to go self catering.
Had to buy wine glasses, bottle opener, cork screw, etc.
Apartment very clean but complex awful.
Booked free wifi, maid service, water park on site. None of these.
Odd sunbed and counted only 2 umberellas. Swimming pool awful. Contact me for pics and sound recordings frim buliding work.
Booked 7 nights, checked out after 3 and paid extra flight home.
Booking.com and owners not interested while we were there or when home.
Feel free to contact me for details, copy emails, images.

We have stayed in Mare Verde apartments many times over the years and find it a great base for our family. There has been quite a lot of work done on the pools over the years and, apart from the top pool, which as other reviewers have mentioned doesn't look like it will re-open, they are now very good and clean(cleaned on a daily rota by onsite lifeguard). We stay in phase two and find it quiet and near to all the pools which are various depths for all ages our boys/girl spend hours a day in them . The complex is handily situated for the Fanabe/Torviscas area which is very family orientated with lots of good restaurants and family friendly bars and near to Fanabe and Playa Pinto beaches which are both good although Playa Pinto is a cove so better for little ones as smaller waves. Their is a very good bus service across the road outside Fanabe Commercial centre(shopping centre) to either Playa de Las Americas(lively younger crowd), Los Cristianos (traditional Spanish town with some lovely restaurants and also some lively bars/areas).This centre also has a good supermarket(basement floor) for essentials(,water, beer, wine, milk, eggs etc prices not much more for these products) although for main shop there is a much cheaper and larger supermarket up the hill to the top of the complex and across the bridge over the motorway(again basement floor-not open Sundays). This supermarket is large and does most everything you would need on self-catering hols ie washing powder, suncreams, frozen foods, fresh meat and fish, fresh veg/fruit in fact only thing we do take is nappies as Spanish ones not as good.
We have not tried the pool bar as tend to venture out towards the beaches if eating out but looks clean and usually busy.
Security are good and a visible presence around the complex.
I haven't stayed in phase three but believe this is more populated by staff of local bars etc so may explain why a couple of people have mentioned noise as may be them winding down after shift.
We will be returning in July 2015-can't wait.

we have just got back from yet another stay on the mareverde , and as always the apartment was spotless and we had a great stay , the complex is clean and tidy , all of the many pools were cleaned regularly.
the pool bar is a great place to spend the sunny afternoons , cheap drinks and very reasonable snacks, we couldnt fault it
i can only say to the people who have experienced bad apartments , they must have been unlucky, everytime we have stayed we have never had a bad place , but do speak to the owners first to be reassured
roll on august when will will return

Where is best place to park a car?
Answer from Spiderpig1965

Parking on the street outside the resort is scarce. There is a piece of wasteland past the resort around the corner to the right. That's where we parked. 5 mins to walk back. Hope this helps.
