Travellers' Choice
An adults oriented hotel that has been completely refurbished and that is now more luxurious, more exclusive, and that offers more experiences to enjoy in good company. All this describes the Iberostar Grand Salomé, within the Iberostar Anthelia complex, which is also a 5-star hotel. Located in the unique destination of Playa del Duque, the Grand Salomé is an exclusive space with stunning architecture, which offers an array of experiences and activities. We recommend its SPA Sensations with over 1,000 m² designed to offer the most exquisite relaxation and wellness experience. What’s more, indulge in the hotel’s top-rated cuisine and savour the amazing food served at any of its six restaurants and four bars, including the entertaining Sea Soul Restaurant & Lounge where guests can experience unique moments, as well as other services. Experience all this and much more when you stay in the recently refurbished suites at the Grand Salomé. “Wave of Change” is a pioneering initiative from Iberostar group to reduce the use of plastics, to promote responsible consumption of seafood and improve coastal health."

The hotel is part of Anthelia which we last stayed in 15 yrs ago. The grand Salome is adults only and has been refurbished to a good standard. The staff are wonderful very friendly and helpful, and really can not complain about service. The main hotel is a bit dated, and main areas could do with refurbishment. Overall a good hotel.

Hotel's Favourite
Very friendly welcome in the evening by butler Fran. Brief explanation and guided to the room. The room is fully equipped, modern yet warm with fantastic beds and quality bed linen. Bathroom with separate shower and whirlpool bath. Spacious with all amenities. A point of improvement is the dispensers. Sometimes they don't work and the quality of the hair lotion is poor. Breakfast service a la carte very good, good options, staff all so friendly. All diamonds that Iberostar can be proud of. There were some issues with the room during my stay. These were resolved, but sometimes too slowly and often in a way that does not match a 5 star experience where you get 650 paid per night. The next day it was resolved by Salome's manager, a very friendly man who often understands him. I forget his name, but he was fantastic. This also applies to the lady who takes care of the cleaning turn-down. Friendly, accommodating and so knowledgeable. The ladies at the pool bar are so fantastic. You feel welcome, even if you don't tip for a day. Beds and pool great. Water temperature AMAZING! Special compliment to Fran, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive. Dinners in the Italian, Seasoul very good. Gourmet mediocre, especially by the person in charge over there. Despite the problems in the room, I will definitely come back and have already booked for June.

We have been to Anthelia several times before but first time at Grand Salome. We have thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay here, it is so quiet and relaxing, always plenty of loungers around the pool, and the staff throughout the hotel are wonderful - so friendly and extremely attentive. Nothing too much trouble - thank you to the lovely pool attendant for looking for my lost sun tan lotion!!! The bar and breakfast staff are lovely, especially Jessica. The food also, is exceptional. Our room is close to the pool too which is very handy. A very relaxing stay all round! We would definitely come back.

The hotel rooms are beautiful with a nice view of the ocean. Breakfast is served a la carte and tastes really good - especially the coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff is really helpful and considerate and gave us a lot of great suggestions for what to do on this amazing island.

I was here for the second time and I must admit this is my favourite hotel in Costa Adeje. The location of the hotel is very good. As a Grande Salome guest you have access to some special areas like a separate pool, rooms and breakfast area. The rooms, service and food are excellent. The only critical point is the gym equipment of the grande salome spa, which could be renewed.

Our second visit, and by and large my comments from last year are still valid. We arrived around 8:10pm at the Anthelia and had to wait, as there was no one from Salome available, the reception offered us drinks we opted for water, and they started the check in process, eventually a butler from Salome arrived and escorted us to the room. After a very very quick orientation of the room the butler left. Fortunately as we’d stayed last year we ventured to the buffet for something quick, it had been a long and tiring day, however, we obviously chose an unfortunate area as the waitress was most unfriendly, maybe because it was coming to the end of service, we only asked for 2 beers and some water, we got one beer between us, I did ask for the second beer, she tutted, walked away and never came back. We paid extra this year for a room in a priority location (a few hundred pounds), we were on a higher floor which was nice, but the view was probably worse than last year as instead of the palm tree trunk we now viewed all the foliage. I would never advocate cutting back the foliage, but I wouldn’t consider it a priority location either and definitely not worth the extra paid as the room was essentially the same as last year just with a slightly bigger balcony, I think over £6700 for 7 nights, even though all inclusive, it is pricey. The room was comfortable and clean, the amenities are ok, although I didn’t like the dispensers in the bathroom, they were inclined to fail, and the creamer supplied while ok for coffee is unpalatable in tea. The location is quiet, the pool was a bit cooler than last year but was ok, the ladies at Lagarto and around the pool are lovely and the service is excellent. We ate at the buffet for breakfast mostly as there was more choice, however, the breakfast at the Mirador was good and the staff very welcoming. We also ate lunch at the buffet as we didn’t want a big meal, the food was ok but not very hot and as less people eat there lunchtime there isn’t a constant turnover of food, hence the quality at lunchtime is not as good as the evening, although apart from that first evening, the staff were very friendly and we had good service. We ate at both Sea Soul and Portofino twice, we weren’t keen on the menu at Poseidon, speaking of menus and the drive for sustainability we could not access menus on smartphone or on the hotel website or the monitors around, there was a glitch, a butler printed them off so we could decide where and when we wanted to dine. Sea Soul like last year was our favourite, however, I do think the inside dining area used in inclement weather needs refurbishment to make it more a la carte and less cafe. The first time we ate at Portofino, the lady in charge was lovely, the service was good, it was calm and welcoming we were offered an aperitif, the courses arrived in a timely manner and we were offered coffee to finish. The second time there was a gentleman in charge, he did not acknowledge us once, he made no eye contact at all but was very friendly with customers I presume he knew, there was a lot more of loud staff conversations, there was a table reserved for people well known to the staff and after they arrived we were ignored completely, our mains were cleared, we expected to be offered dessert and coffee, we waited, and waited, and waited until eventually my husband said let’s go, so we had coffee at Largato. The same restaurant but 2 very different experiences, the food was ok, but especially for Pizzas could they offer 2 sizes as I wasn’t the only person not able to finish it. With regard to Poseidon it never looked busy, I don’t think we ever saw more than 4 tables occupied, it’s a big area too, I do wonder if there’s an opportunity to create an Asian restaurant to incorporate Chinese, Thai, etc. I can’t comment on any evening entertainment as we didn’t attend any. All in all we did have a nice holiday, we enjoyed the peace and tranquility like last year it was what we needed, we wanted a short haul trip, but we could have ventured to the Caribbean for the same amount paid to possibly better, and as so many facilities are shared with Anthelia, I would consider carefully whether the price difference is justifiable, also we don’t really make a huge use of the all inclusive, which is our choice but it would still factor in any decision making. I would recommend the hotel outside of the main season, it is a very nice adult area, I would return if our circumstances were the same and we wanted a short haul destination, as there is a comfort in knowing a place and recognising faces, but I would research and compare other options as well.

The restaurant Poseidon is exceptional. It should have 2 stars Michelin in my opinion. The manager Mossi was welcoming and really commanded the salon with skill. The location is stunning over looking the sunset sea. Can’t fault it. It’s set within the Anthelia Hotel iberostar grounds. Hundred percent recommend visiting this hotel and restaurant.
