GF Gran Costa Adeje has garnered appreciation for its tranquil location near shops and beaches, spacious rooms, and cleanliness. However, the hotel's traditional charm is overshadowed by its outdated decor and facilities, with guests looking forward to refurbishments.
The service receives high marks for friendliness and professionalism, but the value has been called into question, as some find the amenities overpriced and not reflective of a 5-star experience. Noise disturbances have also been a concern for numerous guests.

Detailed Reviews
First visit to this hotel although we have been to other 4/5 star hotels in Costa Adeje.
We were extremely happy with our choice and it was either better or comparable to other hotels where we have stayed in this area.
All hotel areas we found were extremely clean and well presented. The staff we found very polite and helpful.
Our room (462) overlooked the pool with a limited sea view was very comfortable and well serviced as far as cleaning, towels and bedding changes. In some hotels we have found being on a higher floor waiting for the lift was a problem, but we didn't have this problem here even at peak times.
The pool area is well kept with sufficient sun beds, a good idea is they don't allow towels to be left on sun beds without you being before 10am, there if you do they remove the towels. The pool bars and pool restaurant we found to be very good with excellent service. We stayed 10th December 2019, I have to say the pools were cool not being heated but hey probably uneconomical to heat them as probably warm enough in the summer.
The main restaurant was comfortable with good quality and range of food and the service once again was good.
We were all inclusive we found the service in the bars again very good, some hotels we've shy when it came to supplying drinks not the GF Gran we found the bar staff and waiter service on the ball.
The location is great bus stop virtually outside the front door, small but quite nice shopping mall 500 metres or so.
Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, I travelled just with my wife but I would think the venue would suit families just as well.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing these very kind comments about both our installations and our staff. We work hard to offer a high standard of customer service and it is very rewarding when it is recognized in this way by our visitors. We appreciate you highlighting the high standard of cleanliness around the hotel, the comfortable room and the pool area services. We would like to clarify that 3 of our 4 pools are heated during the winter season; it is just the glass-bottomed pool above the reception which is not heated. Thank you also for mentioning our polite and helpful staff, we are very happy to pass on your compliments. We hope such an enjoyable stay will entice you to return. With best wishes, Manager, GF Gran Costa Adeje

I could have written this view before I ever left on my holiday on the 21st Feb as I have absolute confidence in this hotel that I have been visiting twice a year for the last 15 years!
Even the viscous sandstorm on the Sunday didn’t faze the staff from clearing the debris/sand/pools - they worked incredibly hard to get everything back to normal.
Mealtimes are always a pleasure with plenty of choices even for the fussiest of eaters.
Waiters are attentive to diners’ needs and if you are stuck for anything they help with a cheery smile.
It’s true as per some reviews that the rooms are a little dated in terms of decor but hey, they are large & cleaned to a high standard with the provision of hairdryer, kettle, tea and coffee making facilities and the safe is free of charge.
Pool towels are available to change all day every day - again with no charge.
Will always be my hotel of choice. 🙂

Dear Elizabeth, First, let us say that we value greatly your loyalty to our hotel over many years. We are always delighted to see our returning guests, who all form part of our large GF family. Thank you for mentioning the hard work of our staff following the unexpected sandstorm last week. It took a few days, but with everyone working together, we soon had the hotel looking its best once again. We hope you have many happy memories of your visits to Tenerife and we look forward to seeing you again very soon. With best wishes and regards from the Management and Staff, GF Gran Costa Adeje

Just returned from a 10 day stay at the GF Gran Costa Adeje. From check in which was quick and efficient to our departure we could not fault this hotel in any way. The bedroom was spacious as was the bathroom. Plenty of wardrobe space for hanging clothes, shelves in the wardrobes. The safe was easy to programme and use. Without exception from check-in staff to room cleaning staff to bar staff to the people handing out the pool towels and the pool bar staff all were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant deserves special mention as not only was the variety of food at all meals quite exceptional, plus hot food was always hot, sometimes the plates were a little too hot to handle but there was a supply of small serviettes to hold the plates with. In all our years of travel this is the only hotel we have been to where we haven't had to pick up a plate or glass and return it because it had food stains or wasn't property clean. This really made a very big impression on us. The machines to dispense both the butter and jams were very clever and saved a lot of hassle. The coffee machines in the restaurant dispensed very good coffee and the fruit juices at breakfast were also of a very good quality.
The staff in the restaurant were exceptional - as soon as we sat down at a table someone was there, either to ask what drinks we'd like, or if the table hadn't been relayed to relay it immediately for use. Clearing finished plates away was also immediate. This struck us as very well organised and the company had certainly trained their staff to a superb degree. The entertainment was better than any we had previously experienced in any hotel. This ranged from singers, instrumentalists, flamenco dancers and a magician. This is a large hotel with more than enough seating in the lounge area to watch the entertainment. The pool areas are also very large with loads of sunbeds and parasols. Definitely no need to reserve a sunbed as there was more than enough to go round. Small wooden tables by each sunbed. One of the pools was heated which was pleasant, the other pool wasn't heated, so up to the individual to pick which one they would feel happy in. Neither of the pools was deep, but certainly both were fine for swimming in, but not to dive into. The big bonus around the pool was it was quite quiet and the only major noise was when the animation team appeared for water aerobics. If music was playing in the background it was very quiet. Although the facilities in the hotel had to be closed by order of the Spanish Government for the last two days of our holiday the hotel did everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable as possible in the circumstances. We shall definitely return to this hotel.

My partner an I arrived here on Friday 24th January, a much needed trip after my mum had passed away on 7th January. We unpacked everything including all toiletries etc which were placed in the bathroom, two items being a very expensive eye cream and face cream totalling in excess of £300. On the second night these items were missing from the room. My partner insisted that I didn’t report this incident as he said nobody could have possibly taken them in such a high end hotel and maybe they will turn up home how. I returned home with a very bitter feeling about this so emailed the hotel several times explaining the situation but nothing has been taken seriously, all they did was offer me an upgraded room if I were to stay there again which I thought was very patronising. I explained I do not want anything from them but for them to investigate what has happened to the missing items so that nobody in the hotel has anything stollen in the future. Apart from this, the hotel and staff were very nice and it was a very pleasant stay but do beware.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your comments through this platform. We regret that some eye-creams were missing from your room. We do not have a record of this being reported to us during your stay. We have checked with our Housekeeping staff member but she assures us that she did not see these creams. The housekeeping manager has also checked but, unfortunately, nothing has appeared in her records. It is quite often that guests mislay items and these are always stored in our Lost and Found department until the guest reports them as missing and can reclaim them. If the guest has already left the hotel, we are happy to send them on by post. We are very sorry that your items were not found. We hope that, despite this isolated incident, you will offer us another opportunity to welcome you again to GF Gran Costa Adeje. Regards Manager, GF Gran Costa Adeje

Stayed here for one week on a half board basis in January, booked as a package with Tui. We were blessed with lovely weather.
This was a first stay in this hotel, having stayed in the resort 6 or 7 times previously.
The entrance and reception is large and impressive, and smelt fragrant.
The welcome at reception was friendly and professional, but there was no welcome drink which would have been appreciated after a long journey and flight. We were also left to find our own way to our room, struggling with our baggage.
Our room smelt fusty on entering, but this did fade on opening the patio window. Our room looked over a busy road, and we were frequently woken during the night by traffic noise, despite closing the window.
There were tea & coffee making facilities but no cups or saucers, we had to phone reception to request these and they took over an hour to arrive. Additionally the cups & saucers or glasses were not washed or changed once drying out stay which I thought was poor.
The safe in the room did not work and it took 5 visits over 3 hours to get it working, this wasted our first afternoon.
The room itself was spacious and the bed was comfy.
Our meals were taken in the buffet restaurant. There was plenty of variety of food, well labled, but food was often lukewarm. It was very busy and felt more like a canteen than a 5 star restaurant. Service was friendly but very brisk, and we were usually interrupted while eating to sign for drinks. The flowers on the tables were cheap faded dusty and plastic, we expected more than this at a 5 star hotel.
The hotel had several pools, some heated, & plenty of very comfortable sun beds and umbrellas. The no reserving of sun beds rule was most welcome as there was no need to rush down to the poolside after breakfast.
We spent most time on the rooftop pool which is adults only and quieter, with lovely views of the countryside. A sign gave opening times as 7:30 to 7pm, but when I took an early morning swim at 7:45, an attendant ordered me out shouting "finished, finished". I found this upsetting.
There are lots of rules at this hotel, you have to show your card to claim your evening meal, whereas many hotels mark you off on a register as you enter the restaurant.
There is a very large mark up on the wine, the Faustino 7 cost about 20 euros in the restaurant but we saw it in the supermarket for sale at 5 euros a bottle. We felt the service and ambience didn't justify the mark up.
Although we had a good holiday and the hotel has several plus points, we wouldn't rush back. The hotel probably has a 5 star rating based on the diversity of its facilities, but we felt the quality we encountered did not justify its 5 star rating.

Dear Kaye, Thank you very much for your review. We regret that your visit to our hotel did not meet your expectations for some of our services. A welcome drink is available for all arriving guests on a table situated just next to the reception; we are sorry that this was not correctly indicated to you by our staff member. Our porter service is available 24 hours per day. At peak moments, the porters may be delivering the luggage of other guests, but they will always follow up and take your cases to your room as soon as possible; we are sorry this did not happen for you. With regard to the traffic noise, had we known that you were experiencing noise disturbance, we would have been pleased to offer you an alternative room. We sincerely apologise for the time spent waiting for the safe to be adjusted and the delay in the delivery of the cups. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed the comfortable and spacious room, the food service and that overall you had a good holiday with us. We hope we can welcome you back to our hotel in the future. Regards. Manager, GF Gran Costa Adeje

Not what we expected - this is rated as a 5 star hotel and we have been disappointed. On the first night when we arrived, we we talking on our balcony at 10.30pm and got a phone call to the room to say we were talking too loud and to keep our voices down - this is quite early and we would have thought differently if it was 1am in the morning.
We were welcomed at reception this hotel has a beautiful reception and pool area but given it to be 5 star we were not told where the air conditioning was or what the wifi code was either. When we arrived at our room there were holes in the curtains and the rooms are very dated and could do with an upgrade.
You cannot leave towels at your sun lounger as they come and lift them between 9.30am and 10.00am also.
The location of this hotel is in the middle of nowhere you need to get taxis to bars, restaurants etc. There is a shopping Centre about 100m from the hotel with a couple of restaurants and bars.
If you want a girly holiday don't choose this location or hotel it is catered for families and couples and retired couples.
A bad recommendation from Jet2, disappointed as we use them for all our holidays.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your time and attention in dedicating your impressions of our hotel following your recent stay. The Costa Adeje area is a popular tourist zone with a multitude of shops, bars, and restaurants, and with good access to the beach; we are sorry that this was perhaps not the right choice for you on this occasion. Similarly, our pool towel policy is carried out for the benefit of our guests so that everyone can have access to free beds throughout the day; we regret that this was not to your liking. We will review with our reception the information which is given to guests; it is normal for general information about out installations and facilities to be provided on arrival, including the access codes for wifi and the use of our App related to the hotel services. We would also like to thank you for your positive comments about the beautiful pool area and lobby. Thank you for your visit. Regards Eliseo, Manager, GF Gran Costa Adeje

A first for me, in giving this hotel a 5* rating. The management and staff take customer satisfaction very seriously. Very responsive to guests. Staff dedicated and friendly if you interact with them. All requests met with rapid response. Hotel centrally located and near all best spots to move around. Food diverse and lots of choice.Hotel tries hard to present hot food in the buffet by keeping the serving dishes small and replenishing frequently. Plates hot and sometimes you will require napkin to hold them.Fresh orange juice is standard. All tables decked out with fresh linen,no paper napkins,no runners, and maintained that way for all meals.Hotel kept very clean throughout, including pool areas.Lots of sun beds with mattresses. No need to reserve, and if you do the pool staff will remove towels if unoccupied up to 10.00am(excellent). As AI customers good range of international drinks and cocktails, house wines were of modest quality, and had no real problems in getting service, although when entertainment in progress slightly slower as you might expect. Entertainment every night in vast foyer and was varied in quality. The star performers appeared at 9.30pm and usual finished before 10.30pm, but supporting acts performed before and after main show.Safe in room was free plus small fridge. We got water daily from bars.Wifi was generally good in all areas and free.Did not visit a la carte restaurant which seemed pricey.Beds were comfortable, pillow menu, and dressing gowns.Large no of tv channels, but few English ones, no sky.Hallways in hotel due to open design like wind tunnels, and I suspect whilst welcome cooling breeze during peak summer temperatures, a bit draughty in off peak season.Generally a good experience and from our viewpoint deserving a high rating.

I returned yesterday from a 10 day stay with my husband.
I want to warn other holiday makers against using the on site beauty and hair salon 'Peluqueria Costa Adeje.'
On Saturday Feb 1st I booked an appointment for shellac removal. The gentleman on reception recorded booking as 'removar gelaco.'
When I arrived at 2pm for my appointment he clarified that I only wanted shellac removal, no fresh polish. I confirmed I booked only for shellac removal, I work on hospital and cannot wear shellac.
The nail technician Lorena applied acetone under tinfoil and left nails to soak.
She then proceeded to have what appeared to be heated argument with guy on reception.
She left me sitting for almost 25 mins. At this stage the skin on my fingers was burning excruciatingly. When she returned I told her this. She laughed at me. Her colleague just stared at me from reception desk. Lorena had poor English, so the guy asked a further two times did I want polish, I twice more explained what I wanted.
I winced in pain as she removed shellac and tore my cuticles. At the end instead of giving me some hand cream she proceed to exfoliate then moisturise my hands which I said I did not ask for or want.
When I eventually got away from her an hour later the guy on reception charged me €55 for a manicure, I was stunned. I questioned how it could be that price. I have had shellac numerous times and removal is approx €10-€15 at most. When I challenged him he shrugged his shoulders and said that all nail work was at this set price. I paid and left disgusted.
Upon check out yesterday I showed the hotel duty manager the skin breaking down on my fingers from over exposure to alcohol and the receipt. She immediately chastised me for not bringing it to their attention the day before. She advised I had been totally ripped off, shellac removal was €10 approx, but as the salon was closed on Sunday nothing could be done.
Before I departed she did take my email and a copy of receipt and said the hotel manager would arrange a refund for me and be in contact Monday the 3rd.
No communication at all from them. Its a disgrace!! It totally soured my stay and I will not be back.

+1
Excellent stay at this hotel. Arrived early evening & greeted warmly by reception. Luggage whisked away to our room whilst we took a seat in the reception area and helped ourselves to a nice glass of chilled Cava.
Very nice room overlooking the pool & could also see the sea. Our balcony did not get the sun (368), but it was still warm enough to enjoy. The room and the bathroom was massive with more than enough wardrobe space for two adults. The safe was in the wardrobe free to use. Having read previous Trip Adviser reviews we travelled with our own travel iron and additional teabags. The mini fridge was also free to use which was great for our own supplies purchased in the Hyper Dino next to the hotel. The room and bathroom was very clean & housekeeping did a terrific job daily.
We stayed bed & breakfast and had no complaints about the vast choices of food on offer. There breakfast definitely set you up for the day. I did, however, give up on the tea at breakfast and had an extra cup in my room as the water served was never hot enough, so my tea was warm after putting in milk. My husband said the coffee was fine.
We used the main bar/show area a few times. I didn't enjoy my favourite cocktail 'cosmopolitan' so I stuck to Cava or liquors in future when we were passing through for a nightcap. We are not really show watching people so cant comment on the quality, but the area was always quite full of people watching.
Reception invited us to dine in the buffet restaurant on New Years Eve and it was fabulous!!!! So many exquisite choices of tapas-like dishes and drinks served to you continuously in the restaurant. The hotel went all out on New Years Eve & had a wonderful celebration. Thank you GF Gran for making our New Year 2020 so memorable.
The hotel is in a great location, next to a shopping/restaurant area and a market across the road on Saturdays and Thursdays. High end designer shops are also just a short walk away. The walk to the beach front area is around a 10 minute walk, depending on which route you take, but still a leisurely walk.
We used the rooftop adult pool area a few times. It is a great area to get away from it all, with a good book, podcast or a snooze. Loads of available large and comfy sun beds.
1st time stay & would happily stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

As Turkey was not an option due to covid we decided to return to Tenerife and chose this hotel as it was reasonably priced and looked good on the write up. First impressions were good and I was impressed by the scale of the site and the generous size of the rooms. Room was clean and tidy with all usual conveniences, safe, kettle, hair dryer etc, would have liked to have a dedicated shower opposed to one in a bath but it served its purpose.
We were there on a b&b basis and the breakfast was excellent, couldn't fault it at all, we enquired about going A/I for the last week but £700 was a bit steep no matter how good the food is. The hotel was situated a short walk from a few bars and restaurants but ended up having a hike to the best places around.
The pool was good but you had to be early to get the best spots, good to see the staff were enforcing the 'no towels left on beds' policy and grey were removing unattended towels. The wearing of facemasks rule was in all areas even around the pool, I didn't agree with having to wear them in the outside areas, a bit over the top I thought especially when in the pool you don't have to.
The staff were very helpful and always willing to assist, but we were constantly making comparisons with Turkey and even taking into account the standard of accommodation Turkey wins hands-down in most areas and I'm afraid that I probably won't return to Tenerife.
