What can I say? Have stay here on numerous occasions over the years and always enjoyed our stay. Rooms are good and comfortable with excellent views, and all facilities are what you would expect from a 5* hotel. Excellent location 100 yards from the beach and close to a number of excellent restaurants to suit most tastes and pockets. Staff are excellent and breakfast is an event! Returning again in Nov.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is fabulous in every respect. We were a party of 7, inc 7yr and 11yr old girls, mum/dad/grandparents/auntie. Ages 7-63yrs. We all felt equally impressed with the hotel decor (grand, Spanish, traditional), facilities (we viewed the incredible spa but didn’t use it), views, location, service, entertainment, pools and food. The bedrooms are enormous. Fantastic storage and dressing table area. Bathroom area suited us and in our own rooms we had no issue with bath location or the modern design. We had sufficient privacy in this area. Our sea views were incredible and the balconies are generous in size. The Sunset Raw Bar on the hotel rooftop is stunning. Views to die for, especially the sunsets. Great cocktails too. Bit pricier than in the other hotel bars however. The range of food choice is terrific. We had dinner at the hotel 5 times even though we were B&B only. Great value, easy and the children loved it. Waiters were so attentive, bringing drink orders etc. we had fresh delicious oysters, crayfish, mussels, huge king prawns, fresh tuna, cooked fresh fish, roasts, huge pork chops, T bone steaks, best cheeses, fruits, desserts, and on and on, in quantities you would never get elsewhere. You just help yourself. It was impressive. Breakfasts were sublime. Fresh honeycomb, meats, breads, fruits, fresh omelettes, full English, fish, Cava, and on and on. The kids loved the waffles, pastries and Nutella!! We ate out locally as well and in La Caleta too. Easy 25 min walk if not too hot. Sometimes pretty pricey, others not so. Our choice to pay for luxury eating experience out. Never had a bad meal anywhere. Hotel reception were great, arranging restaurant tables for us and taxis. Nothing was too much trouble. The Entertainment team were engaging and struck the right balance for us, not too intrusive but ensured we knew what was on to join in with if we wanted too. We took part in water aerobics, water trampoline workout, water cycle aerobics, wine and chocolate tasting, water yoga, and low key quiz. The fashion shows were great and worked! We bought some items. The children joined in with the pool games, mini kids club and cinema screening. We watched the football world cup in the air con cinema room in comfort with waiter service! The Mojito party in the Sunset Rawbar was fabulous. Fireworks on the beach viewed from the bar that night was spectacular. The adult evening entertainment was interesting and we enjoyed it all. It was a little low key and usually finished by 11pm. As we often had only just finished dinner around 10pm that seemed a bit early. Too hot to go out before 8pm and eat any earlier. It was sweltering when we were there. We felt this was a little early to close the evening entertainment. The patio area used for evening entertainment lacks a little ambience we felt to feel truly inviting and doesn’t have seating comfy enough to make you want to linger long into the night and spend €€s on beverages. A few fairy lights, tasteful bunting, better staging for acts and comfier seating (like in the Sunset Raw bar) would add a lot of holiday atmosphere in the patio area and the hotel would gain €€s in drinks sales we felt as guests would stay longer drinking. Having said this we loved it all and these reflections are hopefully constructive and fairly easy to implement! The acts themselves varied in quality but we still enjoyed them all. Simon Cowell would have been pressing his red buzzer a few times but hey he has very high expectations! The pools are fabulous. We didn’t feel gold guests gained much and the swim up pools didn’t appeal to us at all. We were very happy with our deluxe side sea view rooms, esp as all 3 of our rooms had full sea views!! The grounds and view are lush and tropical. So green. For those who want to know about these things - We saw only 4 cockroaches in the grounds during a 14 day stay. 2 were dead anyway! The grounds were constantly being cleaned. This was not an issue at all. We have stayed elsewhere in Tenerife before and seen many more critters than this!! The rooms are very clean. Sheets and towels changed daily. Immaculate. The poolside towel service is very good indeed. No sunbed wars. People, inc us, did wander down at breakfast to pop hotel pool towels on sunbeds. The pool attendant kept a close eye out for abuse of this and we saw him remove towels after lengthy absences by guests. He proactively allocated sunbeds to latecomers in the day and moved parasols etc to make guests comfortable in the shade. The poolside bar is terrific too. Great food/choice. Sunbed service available - just press a buzzer located on a wall near to your sunbed and the hardworking staff appear! Alternatively throw on a cover up and relocate to the seating area to lunch. The hotel location is perfect. Fabulous beach is steps away accessed by a key gate by the pool area. Lifeguard on duty full time on the beach. Shops/ATMs under the pool area, and behind the hotel at Plaza Del Duque. High end and some budget. Fabulous top end restaurants within moments from the hotel as well as more budget friendly around the promenade in Fanabe just a 10 min walk away. We went on several trips arranged prior to arriving. Tenerife has so much to offer, see, do, chill and relax you - Tenerife has something for everyone regardless of budget, age, and status. Solo guests are treated very well indeed we noticed. The heat curtailed further exploration but lazy days by the wonderful pools suited us equally well. There are some general areas in the hotel in need of refresh but we felt this minuscule in comparison to just how terrific the overall experience is at The Gran Tacande. We saw unobtrusive maintenance being conducted frequently. We would definitely return to Gran Tacande and probably will. Great holiday all round. Thank you to all the hotel staff - all names escape me - but I do recall Rebekka, Ruth, Joni, Manuel, Lorena, and so many others. Working so hard in incredible heat - thank you. We appreciated your commitment to making our holiday special! In short we loved everything about this hotel from start to finish. We are as a group quite hard to please and have high standards tbh, this hotel lived up to our expectations in every respect. Is it perfect? - not quite, did it bother us? Not in the slightest! 10/10 Gran Tacande. 👍🥰👏🏻👏🏻☀️😎🏝️

Very confusing booking system ! We had booked a room with a view two weeks before our arrival , uploading our passport photos etc via a third party booking system called Hotelverse . Previously Ruth (my wife) had tried to book directly through hotel Gran Tacande in February but was eventually directed onto Hotelverse. Upon arrival we were told that the room with a view we chose was no longer available and that we would be required to pay another 63 Euros to change it . Hotelverse had sent an email to me two days before arrival informing me that room was no longer available . Not sure why they e mailed me as my wife was dealing with the holiday via her email – I had never heard of Hotelverse . We complained upon arrival then were offered a choice of two other rooms without paying the 63 Euros that Hotelverse demanded . I asked to have a look but they insisted that I pay the balance of £2,563.74 before they would show me the rooms . I payed . The room we ended up with was good but the views were inferior to our original booking . We were then given a free option to the sauna and swirl pool on a one hour daily basis . It seems like the Hotelverse system is new and has not yet been integrated fully with the original Hotel Gran Tacande booking system ! Or .....you only 'select' a room thinking that you have booked a room after paying a deposit then Hotelverse makes the final call . I don't want to end on the negative as the holiday was, on the whole, a success . All staff were really friendly ( they did not look too tired ) , the pool was always kept clean as was the hotel . The food was exceptional for the price bracket . The restaurant by the pool is good value for lunches , and serves up a delicious mango salad . Lastly , a quick thanks to Angelica our cheerful waitress . Thanks also to the professional Yoga instructors : Nataly and Roscio - I was a complete novice. Ends

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're delighted to hear that our friendly staff and clean pool made a positive impact on your stay. Our team strives to provide exceptional service, and it's heartening to know that Angelica, along with our Yoga instructors Nataly and Roscio, contributed to your enjoyable experience. We regret any confusion regarding your room booking through an external service. While we're pleased that we could offer alternative accommodations without the additional fee, we understand the initial room view did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback and are looking into streamlining our booking processes to ensure a smoother experience for our guests. It's wonderful to learn that our food offerings, including the mango salad at the poolside restaurant, met your taste and expectations. We aim to provide a diverse and enjoyable gastronomic experience for all our guests. We sincerely hope you’ll consider staying with us again for your next visit to Costa Adeje . Best wishes, Team Gran Tacande Wellness & Relax

This was our first time at this hotel , but we have stayed at several others in this area . First impressions were good.A friendly reception at check in . The hotel is attractively set out. We stayed in a gold level swim up room . The room was comfortable and well equipped with a very comfortable bed and a large and powerful shower . Nespresso coffee was provided . The swim up pool is a nice feature but because of the layout of the hotel was west facing and therefore got no sun until late afternoon , making it and the terrace less usable. The facilities of the hotel are good with nice grounds , pools and plenty of loungers. We liked the gold level with its infinity pool and bar service , The restaurant was good with excellent breakfast providing plenty of choice. So too dinner (we were on half board) with good freshly grilled fish and meat as well as sushi and stir fried dishes . Entertainment was by and large of a good standard. Above all we found the staff universally friendly and helpful . We would seriously think about returning.

Playa de Fanabe, Spain1 contribution
We are as the say an old couple. We have travelled a lot. It is important for each and every one to do so, take a look at the world from many points of view. We are very grateful having visited places which are not very accessible now-a-days. Anyhow we were rather young when we came to the conclusion that staying in the sun and especially in Spanish territory was what we enjoyed most of all. The best part is Tenerife and the best discovery was Hotel Grand Tacande. First of all the most obvious thing is that the location will not be defeated. The Hotel is situated at the beach „Playa del Duque“, we call it the white beach. Another beach very near is the black beach or „Playa del Fanabe. Between these beautiful beaches we have a spit of land with a small inlet between them. You have to be there to discover the beauty of the landscape. It is nutritious for the soul taking a walk by the seaside. We have been staying in Gran Tacande for years, by ourselves and also with our children and grandchildren. Our grandchildren loved to stay on the sandy beach and we really enjoyed watching them. Our daughter and son-in-law found it so nice and relaxing not having to carry all the belongings of the smaller ones a long distance. Over the past years they have not been with us, but who knows what will be in the future „Que será, será .... “ Staying in Hotel Gran Tacande we have most of the time chosen the „Gold level“. The Garden of the hotel is nice, but not big. Anyhow choosing the Gold level you would have an exclusive access to the San Sebastian sun area. From most of the rooms you have wonderful views. The rooms are nice and clean. The food is very good with a great selection. Who can ask for more .... ? Yes there is something more, the staff. They are wonderful all of them and have always been. Last time we were there I became ill. I could not have been in better hands anywhere. Thank you God for the good staff in Gran Tacande. May they be blessed forever. Stella

I didn’t want to take the chance of staying in a poor-quality establishment, so I assumed (incorrectly as it turned out) that a 5-Star hotel should ensure that my family and I had a holiday to remember. Little did I know that I’ll be remembering it for all the wrong reasons! Below, I have detailed just what went wrong from the start: - I think it's pertinent at this time to allow you to understand why this particular hotel was picked because in my industry we talk. A few years back an entire production and crew visited Tenerife on location for the last Jason Bourne film, I asked my colleagues for inspiration and I was recommended Gran Tacande, clearly standards have most definitely slipped. Saturday, February 17th 2024. ● Having checked in, we entered our room, took our shoes off in our private hallway, and started to unpack. However, I could feel something under my feet. When I looked my feet were becoming black from the layers of dirt and grime on the floor which had a really greasy coating! That’s when we started to look around and saw that the whole room was dirty and didn’t appear to have been cleaned in some time. ● To make matters worse, there were only two sets of towels, slippers, bathrobes, etc., laid out for us even though there were three of us in the room. ● We were getting frustrated and hot by now, which was when we discovered that the room air-conditioning wasn’t working! We went down to Reception to complain. ● We pointed out the above issues to Carlos at the Reception Desk along with details of white specs of dust under the glass for making tea and coffee (we can only hope it was a creamer for coffee). The white specs continued down the cupboard and there was chocolate smeared on the edge of the glass! ● However, rather than give us his attention and respect, he got distracted by the phone ringing whereby he raised his hand to my face and gave me a stop sign as he answered the phone! ● I couldn’t believe how rude and disrespectful he was to me. I was so shocked at being treated this way that I just stood there when I really should have demanded to see the Hotel Manager. He continued his conversation for some time in Spanish, leaving me standing there fuming. Finally he realised just how angry I was becoming so he put the phone down and promised that all of our issues would be sorted, without giving us any apology. This was not a good start! ● Taking Carlos at his word, we went for a walk. Unfortunately, when we returned to our room that evening the air conditioning still didn’t work. The room clearly hadn’t been cleaned as there were still dirty marks and black hairs in the room! ● Having been travelling all day we were too tired to go back downstairs, so we went to bed and decided to complain in the morning. Sunday morning, February 18th 2024 ● I decided to start the day fresh and take a shower. The shower had a rain shower head attachment along with a handheld shower that was so badly corroded into place that it couldn’t be lifted out of its holder. Despite this, I got in the shower, turned on the overhead shower, got lathered up and decided to turn on the side jets only to have one of them explode, detaching itself from the wall and shooting straight into my testicle, which left me in a complete agony! ● While I’m writhing around in pain, my wife was sitting out on the balcony on what should be ‘luxury’ loungers, except that there was a large dirty round stain - emphasising once again that the room and balcony had not been properly prepared for our arrival and stay. It was disgusting! ● Once again, we complained, pointing out all of our original issues and adding in about the shower and balcony. Oh yes; the air conditioning still wasn’t working! ● Having been reassured once again that everything would be taken care of, we went out for the day, not returning until it was time for dinner. My wife decided to have a plate from the Chinese selection - only to discover that what should be chow mein and noodles was in fact spaghetti. We couldn’t believe just how bad our holiday was going. It was causing my wife and I to argue and was upsetting our son who is autistic. ● Returning to our room we discovered that absolutely nothing had been done to clean the room or get the air conditioning working! For the third time in 28 hours we complained to Reception, telling them that we want to be moved to a clean room where the air conditioning works! ● They sent a cleaner up to our room along with a technician at 22.00. You can see from the picture I’ve taken just how much dirt was collected from this supposedly clean, 5-Star, room! ● Also, the shower is fixed and we could finally feel the air conditioning working. ● The hotel staff did finally apologise to us and asked us to visit them in the morning, where they will have a solution. Monday, February 19th 2024. ● We visited Reception after breakfast, approximately 10:30. They asked us to bear with them whilst they sort out a new room. They promised to have an answer for us by 11:00 so we waited to hear from them. ● After breakfast, while we were waiting to be moved, my wife visited one of the many public toilets - only to discover that it was also very dirty and obviously hadn’t been cleaned for some time. What was particularly distasteful was that there were stains spreading outwards from the toilet seat onto the surrounding floor; absolutely disgusting and unhygienic! ● When we hadn’t heard anything by 11.30, my wife demanded to speak to the manager. At this point they had taken our suitcases so we couldn’t even go swimming. Eventually, a manager appeared at about 11:45. ● As she calmly walked over to us, my wife’s stress levels were dangerously high. The hotel wasn’t to know this but my wife’s mother is undergoing treatment for cancer (which is not going as well as we’d like) and she has a lot of stress trying to make sure that our son has as normal an education as possible. ● She told the manager how stressed and disgusted we all were, that we’d been treated appallingly since arriving and how we couldn’t believe that a 5-Star rated hotel (a holiday which cost us £7,000) could be so dirty and badly run. ● She apologised, but then gave me a pathetic excuse that the head of housekeeping needed to do her final inspection before they could release the room to us. However, as a gesture of goodwill she offered us a one-time entry to their Spa, allowing us to swim but not offering us any complimentary massage or treatments; just access for two hours to swim! ● We decided to have a go at playing pool, it's something my son takes comfort in when he’s anxious! When we arrived in this area we discover the tables were decrepit and broken, as we stood we once again looked around and realised that the entire area we were standing in had water damage in the ceiling, doors were closed up and the area was just generally shabby, not entirely sure why but there were even Zip ties around the door handles to stop guests entering through sets of doors out onto a balcony, What a mess! In hindsight I wish I'd started taking more photos of the dilapidated interior, but in fairness to myself I wasn't there to examine whether there was exceptional levels of protocol in service and customer care. All areas of operation should meet the five star level of quality for cleanliness, maintenance, hospitality and for the quality of physical facilities and delivery of service as it says in the criteria of a five star hotel abroad. Maybe it’s time for a review? ● By 13:30 we still hadn’t been given our room or clothes, so my wife took all of her anger and frustration out on the poor woman behind the Reception Desk. The lady could only apologise again though she did offer us a complimentary lunch down in the one and only bar that customers have access to. Totally deflated, we took the voucher and walked away once again. Even then, we were only entitled to lunch, and no drinks. ● After lunch we returned to the Reception Desk where we were told the room was finally ready for us. Room 410 ● As we entered our second bedroom everything seemed to be a distinct improvement on the first room. The flooring was lifting in places and there was a strong smell of paint, but the room appeared to be clean and we decided not to say anything and just try to desperately get on with some kind of holiday as it was already late Monday afternoon. ● What we didn’t immediately realise was that the air conditioning in this room didn’t work either! Words failed us. ● On this day we also visited the concierge and asked what there was to do? Behind the desk was a large TV and it was playing promotional videos, showing off the hotel and all it had to offer! Amongst the images there advertising an evening show, so I asked “when is this on?” she replied “oh, that show doesn't exist anymore, hasn't done so since COVID. We've been trying to get it taken down as it is deceiving! We need some new promotional films created” ha ha ha! ● I think this is where the problem lies, this possibly was an amazing five star hotel a few years back but sadly through COVID it's taken its toll, not able to even deliver on offering a clean and secure environment for its guests and is now simply living off an old reputation! Wednesday, February 21st ● Once again, the air conditioning wasn't working! We contacted Reception once more and used our voucher to visit the Spa. Even this caused an issue, as I trod on a broken mosaic tile, injuring my foot. I picked the broken tile up and placed it to one side, so no one else could injure themselves. ● When I got outside, I told the attendant and his only concern was whether I’d replaced the broken tile. I told him where it was and suggested he have it repaired before it caused a serious problem. ● When we got back to our room we instantly noticed that the room door had been left open. We assumed that the cleaner had made a mistake. As nothing was missing we let it go and didn’t tell Reception. ● Later that evening, though, after we’d left the room for a quick drink, the door was ajar again upon our return. Clearly, this wasn’t a mistake but the room door must be faulty. ● We reported this to Reception who apologised and promised to fix it immediately. They didn’t and the next morning we found our door once again open on our return from Breakfast. ● This time Reception told us that the door was on a twenty-second delayed timer and would automatically close after that. I have a video of the door staying open well after twenty seconds have elapsed. Dinner Menu and Hygiene ● It didn’t take us long to realise just how limited the Dinner menu/choice was and how difficult it proved to keep individual items warm on a plate whilst walking around to the different stations. ● More concerning, though, was some of the cooking methods, e.g. steaks were coming straight from the fridge and even though I asked for a medium steak I was served a rare steak which I believe should never happen, as there could be issues with uncooked meats. ● Also, the cut which we were consistently served was entrecôte which is from the rib area (basically a French ribeye) which is more often served medium as this allows the fat time to melt. ● We also observed cross contamination through staff using the same utensils to pick up raw meat and vegetables, whilst cooking behind the counter. I’m sure you can appreciate just how important hygiene is in a kitchen especially where different meats and raw items are involved. ● This was so concerning to us that we decided to eat out for the remaining four evenings and pay - even though our holiday included dinner! ● Both Thursday and Friday there were maintenance and painting happening all the way down our corridor and outside our bedroom door, on the face of it there's nothing wrong with this as such but I have never experienced in all the five star hotels I've ever visited and there are a lot, having to walk over dust sheets for two days straight to get to my bedroom, once again not very becoming of a five star hotel. The Hotel Air Conditioning System ● The hotel’s air conditioning is centrally controlled through their computers. Guests can have it turned on in the room but it won’t work unless hotel staff make it work. ● On Thursday evening we returned back to our room to find it swelteringly hot! I immediately contacted Reception to ask them to have someone come and fix our air conditioning. We fell asleep in a puddle of our own sweat while we waited, which was very unpleasant. No one came through the night! ● The next day was so hot that my wife demanded a technician come up and sort it out straight away. The same technician that we’d seen on and off all week arrived; he put his hand up against the air conditioning unit and declared that it was working. We simply laughed and said that we found it unacceptable and wanted something done without fail. After another twenty minutes it was on full power and, after five days of asking, we had consistent air conditioning that made our room comfortable for us to stay and sleep in. Friday, 23rd February 2024 ● Having been out all day, we returned to our room quite late and got into bed to watch some TV. While sitting there, my wife turned to me and asked if the bed sheets felt damp to him, to which he replied they did? I examined the duvet, there was a massive rip in the stitching! ● By now, we just laughed at what a terrible experience this whole holiday [hotel] had been. ● I went to put on a dressing gown and ran my hand down the gown into the pockets, except that there was only one pocket. Thinking I might be going mad, I found another gown which did have two pockets. I then put all three of our gowns on the bed to inspect them and discovered that the pockets had been ripped off or simply missing! Once again, not something one expects from a 5-Star hotel. Lastly, my wife was sitting in one of the smoking areas when she caught her ankle on a rusty, broken, table leg. The general standard of safety leaves an awful lot to be desired. As I said at the opening of this letter, we were all so looking forward to this holiday. We all really needed it to take our mind off of my wife’s sick mother and other issues at home. Rather than finding a vehicle for de-stressing, this disastrous hotel and [some of] the staff completely stressed us out and caused numerous arguments between my wife and I. It is truly a hotel from hell

Dear unhappytraveller2024, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at our hotel. Your detailed account is deeply concerning, and it's clear that we fell short of meeting your expectations and providing the level of service and comfort that we strive for. First and foremost, please accept our sincerest apologies for the cleanliness issues you encountered in your room upon arrival. It is unacceptable that your room was not up to our usual standards of cleanliness, and we understand how disappointing this must have been for you and your family. We have addressed this matter with our housekeeping team to ensure that proper cleaning procedures are followed diligently in the future. Furthermore, we are deeply sorry for the malfunctioning air conditioning system in your room and the inconvenience it caused throughout your stay. We understand the importance of a comfortable environment, especially in a destination like Tenerife. We also apologize for the shortcomings you experienced with our dining options and the hygiene concerns you raised. The issues you highlighted regarding food quality, cross-contamination, and menu variety are not indicative of the standards we uphold, and we will be reviewing our procedures and protocols to prevent such issues from occurring in the future. Regarding the maintenance and safety concerns you encountered, including the broken tiles in the spa area and the faulty door lock in your room, we take these matters very seriously. Our guests' safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we will be conducting a thorough review of our facilities and procedures to address these issues promptly. Please know that your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to making the necessary improvements to ensure that future guests do not encounter similar issues. Once again, please accept our deepest apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment you experienced during your stay. Team Gran Tacande Wellness & Relax

This was our second stay at this hotel and we would return. Check in was professional, friendly and all done in a timely manner. Our deluxe ocean side view was clean and a really good size with an extremely comfortable bed and clean bathroom facilities. My only criticism is having a bath in the bedroom. I’m really not sure about that one and also the toilet isn’t in a separate room and just has a glass door which is clouded but there isn’t much privacy at all. Not much of an issue for a couple but if you were sharing with a friend it might be. Housekeeping was excellent with fresh fluffy towels every day. The balcony has a lovely sun bed and is a good size. We were B&B and I can say the breakfast is one of the best we’ve experienced. The pool areas are fantastic with plenty of sun beds and not much reserving with towels early morning. The large pool with the hydro one attached was heated and a really lovely temperature. Poolside service was very good and there was plenty of choice with the snack menu. I’ve only two things that could be improved on and one is the service at the Skybar which is a really beautiful place to watch the sunset. We waited up to 15 minutes most nights for our drinks. The staff were lovely just not enough behind the bar. I also agree with other reviews that some areas are looking a little tired and need upgrading, particularly the areas outside the bedrooms the floors looked very grubby and the tiles near the outside breakfast area need re-grouting and cleaning up. All in all it was a lovely stay and we had a good experience.

Great value break in a luxurious hotel in a great location with very helpful and friendly staff. The food was delicious and varied; with the benefit of hindsight I should have booked half board but it did give us the opportunity to use two of their other restaurants just outside the complex. White lotus tapas was very keenly priced (with your 15% residents discount), service is fast and friendly and the food is excellent BUT you must book. I used the gym three times which is well equipped, the pools twice a day and as your right on the coast I swam in the sea. My partner enjoyed herself so much that once we got home she booked to go back out again by herself the following month. This time she’ll take part in the yoga sessions. Finally, we have been to this resort several years ago and it’s as good now as it was pre COVID

We had high expectations from our first stay - not all of them were met. However, we enjoyed a relaxing stay and would come back again. + general family friendliness + spacious room easily suitable for families even with multiple children + infants don’t only get a proper comfy cot, but also a baby bath tub and a children’s amenity kit + baby chairs available at restaurants + accessible microwave to warm baby food at all times + families stay in unofficially designated areas which increases acceptance for nightly cries from neighbouring rooms and assures calmness for everyone else + kettle and coffee machine in the room + daily free coffee, tea and water refill in the room + big terrace / balcony + great variety and high quality at the buffet + reasonably prized snacks and drinks at the pool + friendly service everywhere + spa voucher + relaxing spa treatment - room wasn’t in its best shape anymore (battered edges of walls/furniture) - last time we were impressed by the cleanliness; this time round there were crumbs and dust in the corners of our room - cleanliness in community areas was not as spotless as last time (e.g. used coffee cups etc. occasionally weren’t tidied up from one afternoon until next noon) - spa therapist did not ask for pregnancy or any other health issues

Initial reaction wasn't great as you couldn't access the hotel without a key which we didn't have to start with and when we did get in there was no concierge to help with luggage. As I was travelling with my disabled mother and all the luggage it would have been useful to have help. However, at check-in the staff were lovely. Vanessa was very friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment was one of the best I've experienced in Tenerife and we have been going every year for 12 years. The hotel isn't ideal for people with disabilities, we ended up having to hire a wheelchair as the walking between the rooms, pools and restaurants was a little more than we expected. The staff were amazing, couldn't have been more friendly, Juan Carlos, Daikel, Felix, Carlos in the gorgeous outside restaurant were adorable. Rosie and Moussa the Chefs were so friendly and helpful. The one downside was the food at dinner. Lack of variety, just the same meats and pretty much the same offing of fish each night. It would have been nice to have themed nights, i.e. mexican, indian, chinese, thai etc. The Azotea Rooftop bar is worth a trip just to see the sunset and sights at night but this is the only part of the hotel where we found the staff to be not overly helpful nor friendly and the prices for drinks expensive, not worth the visit.
