We visited half term week last week with our 10 year old daughter. We were all inclusive. Drink selections were good and branded spirits used, not cheap stuff. Staff were friendly and helpful. Meal times and snacks were a good selection. Breakfast you helped yourself to drinks / food, but lunch time and dinner they come to the table and serve your drinks. The room was clean and the fridge stocked each day with beer, soft drinks and water, some wine would have been nice? Our room overlooked the beach with a little balcony and the swimming pools the other way. The pools were not busy and we always got a sun bed. But I can imagine in July / August it might be a different story. We asked for a later check out, but our room had already been booked. So we were offered the use of another room for 1/2 hour if we wanted a shower before we were getting picked up late afternoon. We were also still able to have use of the pool / restaurant. We did have a little wander around the area, there is a little supermarket right next door and a few bars/cafes/restaurants. If it's a lively nightlife you want then this is not the area for you. It is nice and quiet and very chilled. We are looking forward to booking again for next year.

Well had 10 nights stay on half board, breakfast was good but evening meal could have been better. Me and my husband stopped in 347 the room did not have air conditioning and was in need of a upgrade, the shower kept going very hot then cold. The beds in the room was firm which I liked and bedding changed 5 times a week. The pools one is heated one is not but got to say the pool area was brilliant really nice and always plenty of sun beds but we went in February so do not know what it would be like in peak season. The animation team work there socks off to entertain the guests and the children so they do get 100% would love to have some of there energy. The waiters and waitresses do a good job as well they work very hard as well Sebastian and Isabel to name a couple of them all do a great job. If the hotel had a upgrade on the rooms that are standard it could be a fab hotel but it is a bit far out from everything for us. But we did enjoy our stay there.

We have been here many times, this year was my wifes 60th birthday. We were suprised when the restaurant staff brought a bottle of champagne and a cake out during our evening meal singing happy birthday. This was much appreciated by ourselves.Big thanks to the hotel management and staff for this.
The pool area is spotless with more than enough sunbeds for the amount of guests staying there.
We tended to eat later for breakfast and dinner and thye resaurant was pretty quiet.
Food is of a good standard and plentyful. The roast duck, prawns and mussels are particularly good.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The paella and sangria is as good as any place in the area. The bbq is also worth going to, free to staying touritsts.
The hotel is one our favourite destinations. The tapas bars and restaurants around the cove are great. Then at night on to Jamses Place in the next cove for a wind down with good music and sports on TV.
This was probably our best stays in the Jardin. We will be back soon.

We were delayed with EasyJet for 20 hours and thus, they provided a hotel overnight and the Hovima was where we were placed. We didn’t expect much, being that it was a free night and there were an awful lot of flights involved in the delay (problems with ATC at Tenerife airport so nothing on EasyJet and just as the Spanish went into lockdown) we checked in easy and were made aware we were full board, great. Room was awful; living area with barely any natural light, no air con at all so the room was stifling even in March. 2 x single beds leading onto a decent balcony and then the 80’s style bathroom. Whole place needs a big refurb. We went for lunch, we had 15 minutes until it closed at 3pm and there was little left, not the hotels fault so I grabbed some chips, my partner a salad. Not bad. Went around the pool and drinks were okay (can’t use cash, they give you a receipt and you pay upon check out, we kept the receipts as I wouldn’t trust this but we are used to be all inclusive) and cheap enough and met a few people in the same situation. Dinner is where it fell down. The hotel is predominantly German and the food is geared more towards them and Germans, from my experience in this hotel and others, are rude. Pushing past you and barging into you, it was horrendous. The restaurant was not big enough for the amount of people dining there. Then onto the food - fish which had seen better days, the same salad options from lunch and chips. Veal steaks?! We got some food, literally had a couple of bites and decided we weren’t in the position to be ill, so walked out. There is a pizza place next door (walk out turn right) where we had the best pizza we have ever had and for €9. Fab. No water available in the room so went the little supermarket next door and bought a bottle and spent the night watching tv in the room (to avoid the rude Germans) breakfast was the same, toasted some bread and realised it was a waste of time so went to get our bags and decided heading back to the airport was better than staying here. Due to the lockdown, another couple we met we’re advised at 8am, very abruptly, to leave or face being stuck there! How people can advise this place is good is beyond me! Would not return at all.

We brightened up our January with a week's stay at this great hotel. Although the rooms are a tad dated, they are spotlessly clean and with a balcony view of either the pool or coastline. There is a sitting room and small kitchen which is equipped with cooking items and a thoughtful cork screw and bottle opener! The relaxed pool area is well sheltered, just the place to unwind and to enjoy the cloudless skies with a very reasonable bar. We were half board and we adored the food! An amazing variety with an extremely high standard. Spectacular King prawns, delicious duck, fabulous beef goulash, tender veal and first class paella was some of the many delights sampled! What really makes this hotel is the staff! Who greet you as friends, nothing is too much trouble! Loved our stay so much already looking for another last minute break next month!

We stayed for a week 12th August. We was full board expected food to be better than it was because of all the reviews saying food above the average. The bbq on the Sunday was the best. They had a lot of fish dishes and rabbit! The plates were not washed properly so watch out to find a clean one. Lot of knifes and forks found dirty and bent. Restaurant staff were always busy cleaning tables etc. English sausage twice and the bacon was never cooked like half the food had a pork dish had to spit it out because wasnt cooked. The pool area wasn't the cleanest not like previous hotels we have stopped in. Fag ends left from day before so my 18 month old tried picking them up... dirty floor around pool, never washed in the evening. Pool itself was clean and like that your able to walk in down the steps on the bigger pool. No inflatables apart from rubber rings aloud in the pool also life guard told us off for having a ball in the pool. My daughter is 18 months so u can imagine she was upset when she wasn't aloud the ball yet we was playing nicely not like going mad with it. The lady on pool bar never smiles, so after 1st day never went back to the bar. Brought drinks of the little shop, which was very handy. The food at the pool bar is for all inclusive only so full board has to go for food in Restaurant but when your full board can't see harm it being included around the bar because not everyone wants to go sit and have a meal in the day time. The bedrooms were OK very dated horrible colour but cleaned 5 days out the week and had clean towels on cleaning days. Had problem with cot first evening but can't fault staff they came with a new one and helped put it up. The scenery outside hotel is beautiful , few nice bars around but more pricy than in toriviscos or playa. One bar 2 gin and lemonades 31 euros nearly fell over...called bloom bar... Entertainment in evening rubbish stayed for mini disco twice can't fault the entertainment staff they worked hard all day and great with kids. But other entertainment not so good apart from one evening looked better but we had gone out come back to room and was disco outside. Shame we missed it. The drinks in the restaurant were flat, coke tasted like the bottle was opened hours. Otherwise it was our first family holiday as a family of 4 and jet2 were amazing, airport both ways were very good, we had a great time shame about food and location bit further out than we liked but we got a good deal. Bus up the hill cheap and taxi cheap to come back only 8 euros max.

Dear Linzy, Thank you for choosing HOVIMA Jardín Caleta during your summer holidays in Tenerife. We hope you enjoyed our outdoor BBQ on saturday, with pork loins, chicken, veal, sausages, chorizos... And our buffet with traditional spanish dishes (one of them includes rabbit) and international food for all the palates. We are sorry if the cleanliness of the restaurant and facilities was not sufficient for you, we will check it with our housekeeping and restaurant teams. Regarding to the inflatables, unfortunately and for safety reasons, only small pool floats are allowed. We sincerely hope you decide to give us a second opportunity, we will be glad to welcome you again and thank you one more time for sharing your impressions with us. Best regards,

Just returned from an amazing week staying at this hotel. We upgraded rooms before we arrived so we could have air con (my mistake when I booked I didnt notice the standard apartments didn’t have it).
Our room(108) had 2 perfect views- one at the front of the beautiful coast and sea and the one at the back of the pool area.
We never struggled to get sunbeds, however we are early risers so took the opportunity to put our towels out before we went to breakfast. Breakfast was repetitive, however so much choice each day from toast to a cooked breakfast to fruit/yoghurts etc.
We were all inclusive so had lunch and evening meal and everyday there was something different even if it was a bit of a strange combination. The salads were always fresh and everything is topped up regularly through the sitting. The staff in the dining/kitchen area literally don’t stop and are so helpful.
* just a personal tip- have the meat paella it’s amazing !!!!
Our holiday was lovely, the staff are so friendly, the all inclusive drinks that you get are lovely(especially the pina colada).
La caleta is a small quiet town but so nice to walk around for scenery and the odd little shop. Costa adeje town is a 8 euro taxi ride or you can get the 467 bus just down the road which cost us €2.70 for the two of us each way.
Overall would highly recommend this hotel for its friendliness cleanliness and making our holiday perfect.

Read reviews after booking, our visit was amazing,so don’t focus on the negative reviews.
Food choices were amazing,so much to choose from at every mealtime & food was constantly topped back up & even the snack bar by the pool for All Inclusive had a good range & all the food was presented well & tasted delicious. The restaurant was busy, but lots of tables outside & inside & the staff were totally on the ball, cleaning tables quickly & taking your drink orders as soon as you’d sat down.
We booked late & so only had a choice of a basic apartment room,no air conditioning,it was really hot,1 noisy fan for free in room,we left the window & patio doors open, but I’d advise air conditioning, you could hire portable units, but these had all gone & yes, people were complaining about this.
Our room was cleaned & bedding & towels were changed every other day,we were All Inclusive & so there was a mini bar in the fridge, which was topped up every day.Much appreciated.Beds on wheels, which was funny, but they were big & comfortable. Not many sockets in room,so I’d advise taking multi 2 pin plug ins, that can take more than one 3 pin plug ( if they exist?)
The pools & pool area were fab, lots of sun loungers & umbrellas, but as usual the “towel brigade” were there,so sad, they even put their towels out the night before! We always managed to get 3 loungers though eventually.
Staff were all friendly & helpful.
Supermarket basically next door, that sold everything & wasn’t expensive.
Beach opposite was black sand & pebbly,20 min walk on a proper path to other beaches, brown sand & Life Guards.
Very quiet location, wouldn’t be suitable for people looking for lively night life,Playa de Americas/Los Cristianos 30 mins away on the local bus, cost €4.50 for 3 of us,taxi cost over €17. A few nice looking restaurants near hotel, but we were All Inclusive, but people were eating at them.Nothing for teenagers to do at the hotel, only a pool table,so I’d say more suited for families with young kids, like a kids playground.
We arrived late evening at the hotel, they had put 3 plates of cold food in the fridge, chicken, rice, cheese
salad, fruit, several drink choices, which was really nice of them.
I’d stop at this hotel again, but would book a room with air conditioning & would go All Inclusive again.

Fantastic week in august school holidays. We stayed all inclusive for 7 nights. We upgraded our room before arrival as we wanted to ensure we had air con, and we weren’t disappointed, we were in room 110, had a fab balcony that overlooked the road outside and brilliant views of the sea and the beach. The room had a bedroom area and also a kitchen/lounge area with the sofa being turned into 2 extra beds for the kids.

We never had any issues with the food there was always something that took our fancy, the outdoor seating in the restaurant was perfect, but was quite small so was hit and Miss if you got a table out there. There was a freshly cooked BBQ one night which had a massive selection of freshly cooked meats including steak. Always a lot of fresh salad and cheeses, loads of bread and chips -which my kids loved. Dinner was always finished off with ice cream and lovely desserts. Drinks are of a good quality and we love the slushy cocktails, never waited more than a couple of minutes to get served.

The pool - was a good size but a lot of it was quite deep so with younger children we did spend most of it on the shallow end which could get quite busy especially if there was aqua aerobics or water polo going on! You are only allowed inflatables with no bottoms like rings, no lilos or balls.

We never had an issue getting sun beds - I am an early riser so used to get down at 7.30 with the towels and had a peaceful read before the kids got up. Throughout the day you could probably grab a couple of sun beds as people do tend to come and go. There is always the people that leave their towels while they go for a siesta, and can be annoying but not an issue for us.

We loved being able to go to the sports bar in the evening and join the mini disco and watch the live football they always had on.

We did go for an evening walk most nights after dinner into the little village of La Caleta, there was a few restaurants around that over looked a little bay and there was a good atmosphere round there and defo worth trying to catch the sunset down there.

Overall we had a fab time and would defo return. Thanks.

If you have any questions let me know

We have just arrived at this hotel after a gap of 2 years we stayed at the Hovima Santa Maria in May. We love this area of Tenerife and also this hotel but we have really noticed the decline since we last visited. We are in a superior apartment, edging strios hanging off wardrobes, dodgy light in bathroom also the sunshade is broken and we have just got a small parasol . When you pay extra for a superior room, you would expect something more than air conditioning. In my opinion these rooms need to be upgraded urgently to bring them up to the standard of other hotels. In past visits we have always had table cloths and napkins in the dining room for lunch and evening meal, very disappointed to see that this is no longer the case. We love La Caleta and we chose to return fir a 3rd visit, but with the downturn of standards not sure that we would come back as there are other hotels that offer so much more for the same price.
