I stayed as a solo traveller at the GF Fanabe for an 8 day break, all inclusive, in November 2023, and I had a fantastic time. I had previously stayed in the GF Adeje Gran several times but as my holiday was very last minute, they had no rooms. I decided on the GF Fanabe not only for its location and the fact it is a GF hotel, but a friend had stayed there and recommended it as a good alternative. If you are looking for a nice, simple hotel that is clean, has good service and nice staff, basic facilities like a pool, rooftop pool, spa etc and is within 5-10 min of the beach…..then the GF Fanabe is perfect. There are a few negative reviews and observations of the GF Fanabe on Trip Advisor and while some of the observations are valid, I don’t believe the negative reviews are. I can only review my experience but for what they are worth, here they are: Hotel – Yes, it is looking a little dated now. It was obviously built in the 1990’s and the exterior is a dead giveaway. It looks grim on the outside by todays standards but it’s functional. Inside the décor is also a decade or maybe more out of date, lots of gold and marble but it’s all in good condition, clean and shiny. The lobby and dining furniture doesn’t look worn or tired and is obviously cleaned and looked after. Bedrooms – Again, a little stuck in the 90’s but still in a similar style to the GF Adeje Gran. I quite like it though; it reminded me of my first trip to Tenerife in the 90’s and early 00’s. The furniture was all clean and free of noticeable wear, scratches etc. There are some signs the maintenance needs to be done here and there but nothing that would ruin a holiday. The towel rail was a little loose in the bathroom and needed a new rawplug in the wall. The shower door leaked a little as the silicone has come free. Finally, the balcony door had a screw loose and sticking out near the handle (but it was still secure and would lock). When reported to reception as I noticed them, each one was dealt with quickly and without fuss. I found the staff very attentive. Food – I saw lots of complaints on Trip Advisor about cold food, but this isn’t something I encountered at the GF Fanabe and I cannot stand lukewarm food. Piping hot, scalding food is a very British thing given our climate and most European friends I have in London constantly joke about having to wait 5-10 minutes after being served in the UK before they can eat their meal, or they will burn their mouth! That said, the food was not cold or lukewarm to my tastes. I am a coeliac and the hotel was very good about displaying allergy info above each dish. The signs could be placed better as I found some dishes looked similar and hard to tell what the sign was referring to but the staff soon helped when asked. The restaurants food was reasonably varied for its size but definitely caters more to the Brits. Lots of chips, burgers and pizza when I would have liked more local cuisine, but that’s just me. I think they could do with more of a Gluten Free Selection but personally I wasn’t starved and never went hungry. All Inclusive – Again I saw lots of complaints about the service provided to All Inclusive guests. I did not see anything similar. I found the service to be prompt, polite and hassle free. I was never asked to show my wristband and never challenged about what I ordered. I was also never skipped over in favour of paying customers. When I ordered drinks, I ordered the normal UK Brand by name but was given the equivalent All Inclusive version. That is normal for All Inclusive as many premium brands are excluded. So, if I ordered a Bushmills and Lemonade for example, I was given the whiskey available to AC guests which is Ballentine’s Scotch. It was nice enough that I bought two bottles of it in Duty Free! Same for Coke, Fanta, Sprite etc, I was given the equivalent and if that wasn’t available, I was given the actual premium drink etc in its place. In the past you maybe had to order the specific drink or be challenged or refused by staff but not anymore. Service - I had no issues in flagging down a waiter or waitress when I wanted to order a drink either, unlike some reviews on here. The staff are very busy, so sometimes it would be a few minutes between me putting my hand up and them coming to take my order but they would never forget. Some guests during my stay were just plain rude and expected a personal slave rather than a member of staff. They would kick off if they didn’t get served within 10 seconds and get frustrated when the staff would confirm the order after the guest changed or added to it several times. Some people just have no manners and bring it on themselves. Summary – Honestly, I had a great time at the GF Fanabe as a solo traveller. I rarely ventured more than a mile form the hotel and had a thoroughly refreshing and stress free break. I think I had a better time at the GF Fanbe than I did at the Adeje Gran many years ago. The Gran is very, very large and spacious but can be crowded at the same time. The GF Fanabe felt more personal and relaxed. As mentioned, it isn’t as grand or elegant as some of the surrounding hotels, but for the price? I cannot fault it and will definitely be back!…

This hotel is in a great location. There are 5 heated pools, a children's area and pool and a rooftop adults only area with 2 plunge pools Snack bars at both pools, the rooftop bar does not do snacks. Plenty of sunbeds, towels provided. Excellent selection and variety of food. Entertainment nightly. Dedicated children's areas for entertainment Staff are absolutely superb at every area. Cleaners do an amazing job, the hotel is spotless. Hotel shop has a good range including facilities to send postcards.

Chose this hotel for a four day break. A little confusion about getting access to our room when we arrived but got that sorted. Lovely hotel and stayed in it many years ago when it was the Fanabe Costa Sur. We were b&b and the breakfasts were good, with a fair selection of choices. Downside for some is part of the poolside doesn't get the sun, however, rooftop area's are excellent with small plunge pools to cool down, also bar on the roof. Note you have to start a tab or pay by card (no cash). Staff pleasant and hotel spotlessly clean. Located in a hilly area so may not suit those with walking difficulties. Glad we chose this hotel again.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at GF Fanabe and could not fault the place. We decided very last minute we needed some winter sun at what appeared to be a decent hotel and decent it most certainly was.The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff throughout(reception/bar/restaurant/cleaners/lifeguards alike)were friendly, engaging & helpful.We didn’t need to race for a sun bed and there was always some available in the sun even if some by main pool were in the shade for majority of day due to height of sun at this time of year.The roof terrace was way bigger & better than expected and even had a gated/secluded nudist section for those who wanted the all over tan.The food was very varied & of a good temperature.Not being able to have a hot beverage at lunch & dinner was a slight disappointment but no biggy.Having to sometimes queue a little to be seated at lunch & dinner may not be to everybody’s liking but was never for very long at all.The animation team were always cheerful & encouraged participation with a good range of activities without being overbearing.The entertainment was of good quality and you could chose between different types either at terrace or pool bar.Our room(019) was very clean and spacious as well being well positioned.The only slight issue was having to remember in the dark/middle of the night that there were a few steps from door/bathroom level down to beds.Again this was no major issue.All in all would highly recommend this hotel and if we were to go back to Tenerife this would be our go to place.…

The GF Fanabe is first class its spotlessly clean, The staff are absolutely Amazing , they are funny very efficient and nothing is a bother for them , there is plenty choice on AI fir food and drinks , there was lots of fun activities through the day plus the entertainment at night is very good , it has a supermarket across the road and a fun kareoke bar plus there is a market a couple of times a week 5 mins away it is only a 10 minute walk to the beach i would certainly come back to this hotel , Thank you GF Fanabe for giving us a fantastic holiday love from Robbie and Lorraine

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at GF Fañabe and had a fantastic time. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are constantly cleaning. The food was adequate but could be a little warmer at times. All staff friendly and pleasant but I would specifically like to thank Jessica who served in the solarium bar. Returned to this hotel after a few years,the rooms are spacious but dated need TLC On arrival wardrobe doors jammed and centre light only 1 bulb out of 3 working (Was rectified within the hour) You have to step into a bath for a shower maybe a problem for some people. Had 1 nights sleep as the buckets were emptied from under our balcony between 2.28 and 2.34 every morning,the staff arrived for work and had a chit chat. After that they would hose/power wash the buckets/area( Avoid rooms 159,160,161) On the positive side the staff were all great and rooms were cleaned to a good standard,food was plentiful and good variety. Roof top solarium was good never had to wait for a sunbed there was plenty for all. Entertainment was also very good in the Bar Hall They did not enforce the long trousers and shirt for men which was a bit annoying as we packed these at last minute after reading website. …

This is a great hotel with lovely hard working staff. The Food needs improvement as it’s cold a lot of the time. The area is great too. We visit the Grand Adeje too some nights for the entertainment in there also. All in the FANNABE is a great hotel and the adults only rooftop area is great.

Cracking Holiday. Staff were terrific. Always a Buenos dias/ notches. Nothing was an effort. Waiting staff were absolutely brilliant. Meals cater for everyone. And Gluten free. Rooms spotless and cleaned every day. Animation team kept the young and old guys like going. Met new friends and had a great laugh. 2 shopping centers opposite. Hotel location is spot on 10mins to the local bars on the the sea front. 10/10 We will be back.
