Just come back from a week at Blue Bay and the hotel was perfect for a relaxing break. Rooms were adequate but nothing special apart from the amazing view. We spent many an hour on the comfortable, padded sunbeds, never went thirsty as the waiting staff were round frequent taking your drinks order. We stayed bed and breakfast with plenty of choice for breakfast, lovely dining room overlooking the sea. Had a few snacks from the bar which were normal standard for a pool bar. Beer was good and reasonably priced, however the spirits were very expensive.
All staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Best feature of the hotel was its
location, a 10 minute walk from the beautiful village of Afitos. A lovely vibrant atmosphere and lots of lovely restraunts. All restraunts had a similar menu and standard of food so don't worry too much about trawling through reviews trying to choose the best one, I can recommend a bar/restaurant called Soboros though as the staff are so welcoming and take time to chat to you.
Almost forgot about the beach which is down very steep steps. The beach is very narrow and full of sunbeds but the sea is beautiful, warm and clear. The walk back up the steps from the beach is very hard work, but have a few rests on the benches on the way up and you should be OK.
Overall I would recommend this hotel for quite and relaxing daytimes and a delightful evening in the village.

Such a wonderful hotel in a spectacular location. We both had a wonderful time and would dog back.
We were greeted on arrival with a glass of sparkling wine and showed to our room by Sophia, who also showed us where the restaurant and pool were located. Our room (416) was spacious and comfortable. It faced one of the hotel’s other buildings and beyond that the sea. There was a little garden outside. The bathroom felt luxurious.
In June it was fairly easy to get a lounger by the pool. The beach was 160 ish steps down, some of which were quite steep. Wonderful to see small, primrose coloured butterflies on the way down. The beach is sandy and slopes down very gently. The beach cafe provides loungers for customers spending 9 works plus, which seemed very reasonable ( would recommend the ice cream!!!).
A generous breakfast buffet was provided at the hotel, with an array of sweet and savoury delights! Would recommend the apple pie and the small apple tartlets.
Staff were all friendly and kind. A special thanks to the 3 Maria’s and Theo from the restaurant, who seemed genuinely delighted that we were having a wonderful time.
Afytos itself is a 10-15 mini walk away. It is very pretty with lots of shops, bars and restaurants

Arrived early afternoon check in was quick & we were offered a welcome drink (we chose fizz) our room wasn’t quite ready but we were directed down to the bar/restaurant. The sights that greeted us were mesmerising. The pool areas are gorgeous but the star of the show has to be the view of the sea/beach below. The water is Caribbean blue & completely clear.

Our room (413) was clean, airy & spacious with a full frontal view of the smaller pool & the sea. The safe is free & easy to use. Air conditioning worked perfectly.

We had lunch & dinner at The Varanda Restaurant quite a few times & the food is outstanding. The best we had on the whole island. The staff are incredible in particular Maria & Chris who went above & beyond to make our stay amazing & always with a smile although all of them were fantastic.

The steps to the sea are not too challenging & the sneaky views you get going up/down make them worth it. The beach bar is good value with a shaded eating area & toilets. The sea although a little bit rocky in places soon clears & it’s like a warm bath, totally clear & calm.

All in all this hotel made our holiday, that & the beautiful traditional town of Afitos.

This was our second visit to blue bay and it was as good as the first visit! The location is fabulous, high up with far reaching views out to sea and access to the beach down a few steps. The food, whether it’s the buffet breakfast, the lunches on the terrace or the evening menu are all fantastic, hats off to the chef! Yes afitos town is gorgeous, but do think about a couple of evening meals at the hotel in their spectacular setting, you won’t be disappointed, everything we ordered was so good. The cleanliness of the whole place, social areas, bedrooms, pools was 10/10, the cleaners work incredibly hard, and always with a smile on their face. And finally a special mention to their staff, as was the case on our first visit, they are so welcoming and have a great sense of humour. It’s plain to see they are incredibly busy in high season, but they still take time to chat with the guests, over and above what is expected. So a big thank you to blue bay….I should imagine it will be a third visit next year!!

My wife and I have just returned to the UK after staying at the Blue Bay for 2 weeks. All of the staff, without exception, made us feel so welcome and a big mention to the kitchen and restaurant staff who were always very attentive and made us feel very special. The hotel is located on a cliff overlooking the beach with 170+ steps to negotiate but this provided many guests with an opportunity to get some much-needed exercise!

We stayed here for a week at the end of July in a Superior sea view room. The room was lovely a huge bed, modern bathroom with walk in shower and a balcony with beautiful views. Breakfast was plentiful, a nice menu for lunch and snacks and a cocktail menu for us to work through each evening before dinner. We used the smaller pool everyday as it was quieter and we were able to still get a sunbed at 9:30am.

It's about a 15 minute walk into Afitos town along a straight road (no pavements), taxi's are fixed at 5 Euro so we often got one back. There are steps down to the beach directly from the hotel or if you turn right out of the hotel and walk down for a few minutes there is a slope down instead (which leads to a lovely restaurant you can have dinner overlooking the sea). Beach is very narrow and packed with sunbeds so we preferred the pool area. They also charged 15 euro per person min spend at the cafe to use the beds (this must be spent on your first order and not order the day).

Reception were really helpful on local knowledge and told us about a local winery (Tzikas family) which we got a taxi to to do a tasting which was a nice afternoon out.

Would definitely stay again if we returned to Afitos.

Stayed here for a fortnight in August 2023 with Jet2., couldn't fault it.
All staff from the checkin at reception to waiting, bar, cleaners were friendly and knowledgeable.
Our room looked over the smaller pool and to the sea beyond, beautiful.
Breakfast had a great choice of hot and cold food and even had sparkling wine on a Sunday,
We ate in the excellent veranda restaurant twice as it was so good, Had the evening buffet once which was average and a bit too expensive.
Got sunbeds every day with towels supplied free from reception.
The beach was quite accessible from the hotel down a flight of stone steps with access also from a road 100 metres from the hotel. Sun beds were available if you bought €9 of drinks from the cafe bar
Afitos is a 10 to 15 minute walk with lots of tavernas and restaurants and supermarkets.
Kalithia was a 25 minute walk in the other direction, we weren't that impressed, but worth a look and a taxi was €8 kne way.
The waiting service delivered to your sunbeds and signing a chit to pay at the end of the holiday was brilliant .

Visited in July 2022 for 9 nights, we stayed in a Junior Suite Sea View. Views from the room and pools were amazing. Everything was amazing from arrival to departure, best hotel and room I have ever stayed in, very quiet and peaceful. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was served from 7am to 11am and had everything you could want. 155 steps direct from the hotel lead you to a nice beach with crystal clear water and a few restaurants. Afitos, which is a 10 to 15 minute walk is a beautiful village with restaurants and bars plentiful. All in all, an amazing holiday, we will definitely return to the Blue Bay.

Loved our Junior Suite with sea view with its two balconies, mini fridge, big comfy bed and amazing view over the pool, gardens and sea.
There are two swimming pools that were very peaceful and comfortable with sunbeds with shades. So pleased that there was no loud music blasting out to spoil the ambiance. The on site bar was in a great position and we began with a couple of drinks each our first two days but for the cost the glass was filled with too much ice rather than the drink.
Breakfast had a very good selection and the restaurant was very smart overlooking the bay.
All the staff were so friendly and nice and do a really good job.
The hotel is situated high above the beach/sea which is accessed by many steps.Walking into town takes around 15mins to the many restaurants and cafes there.
We really enjoyed our two weeks at Blue Bay on a bed and breakfast basis which was a first for us as we don’t usually travel this time of year.

A truly wonderful hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and always smiling. Enjoyed breakfast each morning which is served to 11am, particularly the very good coffee. We were staying B&B only but did use the Al a Carte restaurant one evening and weren't disappointed. Exceptional food, and lovely service yet again.
It's about a 15 minute walk to Afytos which isn't too hard, but reception are happy to call a taxi which usually arrives in 5 minutes or so and costs 5 Euros. Afytos itself is lovely, some truly beautiful bars and restaurants and really good shopping for souvenirs. In 10 days we never experienced anything negative expect for a few days of challenging weather, but even that couldn't take the shine off this amazing place.

The hotel has a policy of not reserving sun beds, they tell you on arrival. We had no problems getting a sun bed at any time and they had lots stacked up in case they were needed, but we went outside school holidays so don’t know at the really busy times, hope this helps 👍
