Nestled in a scenic location, Akrathos Beach Hotel offers stunning beach views which guests adore, though its remote setting may be challenging for some. While the hotel's cleanliness and hospitable staff earn praise, travelers criticize the value, pointing to costly extras and expectations not always met. Amenities receive mixed reviews, with the beach and variety lauded, but some disappointments in drinks and pool size. Rooms are deemed clean and contemporary, yet issues with space and noise from evening music have been mentioned.

Had a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Akrathos Beach!! It was everything we could have wished for. Everywhere was lovely and clean, day and night. Our room was upgraded and we overlooked the pool and sea....amazing views to wake up to!! All the staff were lovely and despite other reviews we had no complaints with regards food...we had lots of lovely varied meals. We also ate in the Taverna which was lovely. We enjoyed the daily cocktails. The beach is lovely and clean and only 5 minute walk away. Will definitely return.

We stayed here during the pandemic,I was really nervous about what to expect but I didn’t need to be.The hotel have put lots of measures in place to keep everyone safe, the staff work really hard to ensure everywhere is clean and sterile, sensory hand sanitisers are everywhere and sun beds are cleaned thoroughly both by pool and on the beach.Food is buffet style, behind Perspex screens which is served to you,the only problem with this is the varying portion sizes, often huge! Menu in the taverna restaurant is limited but you can order from a larger menu however this is not included in the all inclusive. The food from the beach bar is very nice but again not included in all inclusive. We hired a boat for the day from the water sports hut on the beach, which was great value and a great way to explore the islands and beaches, again very helpful and food was lovely at the beach restaurant we stopped at.
We had a lovely, relaxing stay here, plenty of areas in order to social distance day and night. No entertainment of an evening but pool tables and a football table,we played cards or games, hubby and son were able to get their football fix on the tv by the crepe bar (again not included in all inclusive but my son loved them). The hotel was quiet and not fully open in order to put measures in place to social distance and reduce queuing times at meal times, staff are very friendly, helpful and hard working, very observant and meticulous with cleaning. We felt very safe and reassured. Only down side is the 2 hour transfer but worth it for the quietness and amazing surroundings and views. The other down side is the mosquitoes,I was bitten despite using repellants as was my husband but my son and daughter were ok.
Thankyou to all staff for a lovely, much needed holiday during this difficult time.

We couldn't go on our planned holiday to Tenerife so chose this instead & we were really happy we had had to change. It was a family holiday with our two year old Grandson & we had the best time here. The Hotel was super clean & all the staff wore masks & sanitized absolutely everything all the time. There are also hand sanitizers everywhere. The sun loungers on the terrace by the pool & on the beach are set by fixed tables so it's easy to keep separate. The food was excellent -just tell them if you only want a little!! The views from the hotel & pool are amazing, worth the rather steep slope to the beach. If you need it they will take you down in a golf buggy & trailer. It can't be easy for the staff at the moment, yet they were always there to help & were so friendly. Eduardo & the restuarant staff, in particular Antonia & Alexandra were very helpful & very patient with our lively two year old! The high chair was always brought freshly sanitized to the table & they took the time to talk to us. We had a meal at the Taverna one night & again the food was great & the views are fabulous.
Anna at the bar was also really friendly & welcoming & really good with Albie. This hotel is a gem for anyone wanting a slightly quieter, really chilled out, safe holiday, We were able to completely relax. The beds are comfortable & Albie loved his cot. I really can't praise them highly enough & I hope others reading this are encouraged to go to this beautiful part of Greece. Ouranopoli itself is picturesque & well worth the short Taxi ride. We also hired a boat one day from Nikos at Akrathos water sports on the beach & had an amazing day going round the Islands. Our only regret is we had to leave.

I have just come back from this lovely hotel - I stumbled across it having my TUI holiday cancelled 3 times. The hotel is 2 hours from the airport but the coach journey was comfortable with great scenery. I had emailed the hotel prior to staying as I wanted a full sea view and not side view and on arrival was delighted that the hotel had arranged this. Although all the rooms seemed to have nice views. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean and the staff are constantly wiping down tables where people have vacated ready for the next guests to sit down. All the staff without exception were polite and courteous and very accommodating without being intrusive especially at meal times - they are very attentive. The beach is a short walk away and there is a beach bar which is part of the all inclusive package. The pool area is very well laid out with plenty of sunbeds for everyone and a lovely pool bar. There is a large seating area and bar in the evenings with plenty of room for everyone and a taverna you can book for that special meal although I found plenty of choice in the main restaurant. Not a queue in sight anywhere. The rooms were cleaned every 3 days but they provide everything you need for those 3 days and the beds are really comfortable. Rooms are very modern as is the hotel itself. This is one of the nicest 4 star hotels I have stayed in. As a solo female traveller I was made to feel very welcome and immediately felt at home here. A very well managed hotel which I would recommend to everyone wanting a nice chilled out holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and give credit to the wonderful staff.

Where do I start? First of all if you have booked with TUI then don’t be fooled by their statement of ‘you don’t have to go far for snacks as you can enjoy these from the pool and beach bar’ well yes you can but you have to pay for them at the beach and the pool bar places one loaf of cake (12 slices) at 5pm for the whole of the hotel guests as you can imagine it is demolished within 5 minutes by just two families! My kids were really disappointed as they love to go to All Inclusive so they can get up and help themselves but they didn’t even serve ice cream or crepes until after 7pm and again you had to pay for this.

With regards to the hotel itself, yes the views are outstanding and the beach is lovely. Found the pool to be a bit dirty, you could see yellow scum all around it and the glass around it was never cleaned when we were there which is a shame as you couldn’t enjoy the beautiful view because of all of the scum.

Our room was like a WW2 bunker, underground with a balcony that gave you an eye view of the footpath! Because it was underground it felt very dark and it attracted so many insects my daughter wouldn’t sleep in her own bed as it was full of earwigs, spiders and other creatures. The lighting is dreadful and seems to be in the wrong places and the shower room is tiny and gets wet through when the shower is turned on.

The buffet restaurant is hit and miss, sometimes we found something to eat others we didn’t. The food was Luke warm most of the time but occasionally we managed to find something hot. Not a great selection and the fruit was very limited, mainly grapefruit, orange and apples.

The drinks are 100% watered down, the beer is so clear and flat you can actually taste the water in it. Cocktails are great if you want to stay sober and again the choice is very very limited. Everything is served in tiny plastic party cups even the beer! We ended up buying ours from the supermarket and noticed quite a lot of others doing the same.

We loved the day time had a few things to do like the boat hire and a trip to mount Athos but when it came to the evening we were so bored we ended up in our room watching Netflix on our fire stick, honestly the bar was like a Wake, no atmosphere and again rubbish drinks.

The Taverna was ok but they charge you €6 for a 330ml bottle of Mythos!

To top our holiday off on our last day the cleaners took my partners trainers and expensive top from the wardrobe. We told the reception staff and she couldn’t care less, said mthe cleaners didn’t know where they were and that was that, he had to travel back that night in his sliders! This was such a disappointment to us as we always travel to Greece as we love the Greeks friendliness and honesty but the cleaners are not to be trusted at this hotel.

All in all, the holiday was ok. Expensive for what it was and I only book All Inclusive for my kids and this is definitely not a hotel for kids.
If you want a holiday where you can enjoy a good few drinks and get merry then again this is not the hotel for you.

My advise would be to listen to the negative reviews as I didn’t and now I regret it.

Dear 1Capril123, Thank you for taking the time to post a review about our hotel. I am sorry that you were disappointed about your stay with us, we are here to delight our guests not fully aware of, so that Tripadvisor readers have a complete impression. The all inclusive program is posted on the bulletin boards of our hotel. All our guests can read in detail what, the all inclusive program, contains. If TUI describes something other than this, it is not our responsibility. You should contact your office. Regarding the room there is detailing description of the room (Family room with garden view low floor) on the hotel site and on the site of TUI also. Our hotel cleaners take care of the cleanliness of the room every day. The cleaning staff has been working in our hotel for over 15 years, there has never been a similar incident. we are confident in the ethics and honesty of our employees. With Warm Regards, The Management

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the hotel during the Corona Virus pandemic, before we arrived I was a bit nervous about the mask situation around the hotel and pool. When we arrived those worries were instantly taken away, as you didn't need to wear them any where in the hotel, apart from the on site shop. Our room was nice with a walk in shower sink and toilet, we also had a very nice balcony over looking the sea with beautiful sun set views. We were lucky to be on the top floor westward facing, as there were a large proportion of rooms for example the bottom floor ones not having a very nice view. The food at the hotel was of a high standard with different options every day, apart from breakfast which seemed to stay the same every day, the only problem with the food was the way it was served, due to Covid the restaurant staff had to serve the food for you, which made the process feel rushed and meant you couldn't have a browse of what you wanted. The pool was a good size and had fabulous views of the sea and surrounding areas, the pool bar served all inclusive drinks throughout the day, one annoying thing was the drinks were served in small plastic cups which did get tedious towards the end of the holiday. Overall we had a lovely stay at the hotel and would definitely consider coming back.

Deeply upset to see such a negative review regarding the staff from the same duration I visited Hotel Akrathos.
We are extremely well traveled and at Akrathos they were the loveliest staff we have ever encountered on holiday, from the shop staff, to the pool and beach bar staff, to the waiting staff at the restaurants and Taverna who all work exceptionally hard and long hours to ensure their customers and guests receive the best experience!

The location is quiet but it’s extremely close to a private beach, the all inclusive deal is explained upon arrival to guests to explain the time limitations and exceptions, we felt this was very well explained to us by the lovely receptionist who greeted us upon arrival. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly and the one minor issue we had which was a broken plug in one of the bathroom’s, the reception staff offered to get someone out straight away late at night to fix the problem but we were happy to wait until the day day as we had the executive suite and had two bathrooms. The air conditioning units work better than any other we have had in Greece.

The food at the Taverna is wonderful and I recommend booking, the booking does have to be made two days in advance but the manager Eduardo is extremely welcoming and explains this when he is asked and will fit you in for a booking where he can.

Thank you to the hotel staff for providing us with such a welcomed and wonderful experience. We will be recommending this to all of our friends and we are aware plenty of other friendly guests we met on the holiday will be doing the same!

Booked this hotel last minute just to get away for a week.

Arrived at the hotel with 10 mins until lunch stopped and were whisked in before check in to insure we ate. Thought this was really thoughtful.

Hotel is exceptionally clean , rooms were budget but comfortable and tidy. (We didn't have the option to upgrade whilst booking)

Staff were extremely helpful when needed and all were happy and very polite.
Spacious hotel with plenty of sun loungers and a beach that has free sunbeds and a bar as part of the all inclusive.

Definitely reccomend this hotel, its exceptional, as are the views and the staff.

My rating is more 4.5 for the following reasons:

* Hotel noise carries so rooms in the main building are extremely loud , if you want to relax be sure to pay for an upgrade.

*All inclusive doesn't include any type of snack as far as I'm aware so get up early so you don't you miss breakfast .

*Cocktails, ice cream and even an iced coffee aren't in the all inclusive?!

*I can see what other reviews mean about the glass sizing and same options for breakfast. Not sure if its because of the pandemic or standard menu.

Arrived back yesterday from the Akrathos and this will be a mixed, but honest, review.
Let me start by saying that the staff are all fabulous.Helpful, courteous and engaging throughout.Klara in the restaurant and Daniel and Anastasia at the pool bar get special mentions as they were very helpful.
The room was spotless and a decent size.We had a good sea view but be aware the hotel is built on a hill so it's always a good walk to get to your room.
The pool area was also spotless but the pool was freezing although I'm sure it will get warmer as the summer progresses.
The beach was sandy but as you went into the water it was very stony so beach shoes are a must. The sea also was freezing but its early in the year.
The food was hit and miss but the salads were excellent and there was always something very good amongst the dishes.
The drinks were so so but the rose wine was passable the beer and spirits less so.
The taverna meal we had had was good but to be charged €6 euros a glass for red wine was a little ott for an all inclusive.
The town itself is very pleasant with some beautiful views. If you go there check out Waves Bar-great food, great drinks and a fabulous family that run it.
This is a hotel that's good but it could be great if it became truly AI and upped it's game on the quality of its drinks and food.

Friendly staff, particularly when they made sure we had food before checking in. They also dealt with our "noisy neighbour" problem with no fuss. Thank you this made a big difference.

Clean facilities, sunbeds were spread out nicely.

I don't want to mark the food too harshly because I think the hotel had to deal with Covid restrictions here. It just would of been nicer to have been able to self serve, but it is what it is.

No excursions were available due to covid but there were boats for hire at the beach for a very reasonable price. We had a fantastic time with another couple taking a trip to the nearby island.

Like many have said, the drink sizes for all inclusive was a bit small and got a bit tedious towards the end. Unfortunately it loses marks here. Noise does carry in the rooms, so if you like your sleep it can be a bit annoying. But again this can't be helped at times.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay under the circumstances.

I'd be interested to see how much better it would be without covid restrictions.

Thank you to all at the hotel.
