This hotel was listed as 4 star. It most definitely was not. The public areas were not too bad but the bathroom needed to be totally renovated. The enamel on the bath was worn down to rusty patches, the silicone and grout were grotty and the fittings were totally worn. There was no AC, apparently it was turned off in parts of the hotel on 15th September, but some rooms still had it on. The food was also not 4 star and the staff were the most miserable I have ever experienced. The hotel may have been 4 star 20 years ago but has done nothing to maintain their rating.

Rooms old , bathroom poor with stained bath, chipped toilet seat. No aircon, fridge leaked and was rusty. The food, whilst a large selection, it was what ever was warm and not cooked to death. Salads were good. Breakfast was ok… but only just. Pool had a green tinge and a line of scum around the tiles. Sun beds were old and sagging. Bar was poor with weak drinks and disposable plastic cups . Staff were friendly but clearly jaded . This hotel is not 4*

Got here on the 30/9 only to be told we were being upgraded to the 5star panorama (read other review) what a mistake. Wish we had stayed in this hotel because it didn’t pull the wool over your eyes and the woman on reception was great!

Average hotel. Decent food and nice quiet pool area. Dated buildings/ rooms but was booked on an offer so still represented reasonable value. Just don't let them move you to Kipriotis Village! This is primarily a review of the Kipriatis Hippocrates Hotel, which is the hotel I had researched and booked. Upon our arrival at the pleasantly quiet reception, we were told we were actually staying at the nearby Kipriatis Village complex. There was no explanation and we initially thought we had mistakenly got off the transfer bus too early. A mini bus was summoned to transfer us over and for the next 48 hours we were staying at The Village but we were given wrist bands allowing us to use the facilities/restaurant/pool at the Hippocrates. I'll cover the scenario further at the end of the review as I'm sure most people just want a review of the Hippocrates facilitates etc but if you're interested in how this company seem to be happy to move customers to a hotel they haven't booked for no clear reason and no apology then read to the end! We ate all but one breakfast at the Hippocrates as their restaurant was much quieter and we usually managed to get a table outside overlooking the pool area. But even when we ate inside, It wasn't noisy and there were rarely queues for the drinks machines or self service food area's. We found the choice of food generally good. We're not fussy people and always found something to enjoy. I'd say the salads were particularly good. Always freshly made and lots of choice. Staff work hard keeping food replaced and tables clear. Everything is self service including the drinks which are from dispensers. Always a bit off putting pulling yourself a glass of wine and chilled red wine is often a red flag but it was ok and I've drunk worse bottled red. You can eat once per stay at their Greek Restaurant which you just need to book with a senior restaurant supervisor. 7pm seems to be the given time but that suited us and we enjoyed what we had. Don't think their menu changes and choice is limited but again, we're not fussy and it was nice to be served. We felt it polite to pay for a non all inclusive wine which wasn't expensive by UK standards. The pool area  is really nice. Decent sized pool with enough lounges to easily cope with the demand so you could take your pick at any time of day without feeling any pressure to have to compete in the silly reservation of lounges game. Big bonus! Plenty of parasoles and palm trees offering shade as well. The lounges are basic metal framed jobs which could do with some padding though. There are two members of an entertainment team who are a real asset to The hotel. Mikey and (a young Dutch girl who I'm annoyed to say I've forgotten her name!). They don't apply annoying pressure but are keen to get you involved in such as darts, water polo, beer pong or on an evening, karaoke or music quiz. The highlight though is The morning pool aerobics which is a hoot. Mikey in particular is a real force of nature and his enthusiasm is infectious. The main bar overlooks the pool area so only serves drinks in plastic glasses. It was rarely busy, so didn't have to wait longer than a few minutes for service. The all inclusive drinks were a little limited and the three cocktails offered are all from pre mixed big boxes but were not bad. The evening entertainment is in this area and, as mentioned, is mainly provided in house but there was a singing duet (John and Anala I believe), and they were really good and well received. The room at The Hippocrates was reasonable. We had paid for a sea view and were on 3rd floor overlooking the roof of the restaurant but beyond that was the sea and the mountains of Turkey. Nice enough but guess lower rooms or those facing backwards wouldn't be so great. But elements of it were tired. Kettle didn't work very well for example. Maid service was really poor. We only had five nights in the room. We had to ask three times to get an extra pillow and only had cleaners come into the room once in five days. And even then, no tea or coffee was replenished. I would add that we booked the holiday as part of a discounted deal which represented decent value by today's standards. So our expectations were realistic as to what to expect. Hence the overall rating is probably quite generous considering the fairly basic standard. If we'd have paid more I'd be less generous and I've tried not to reflect our disappointing first two days in my rating. On to that then....... The Village hotel was just not our cup of tea and, of course, we hadn't booked it or seen any advanced info on it. Reception was always understaffed and v busy. Took us ages to check in and when we were eventually escorted to our room, we realised just how big, busy and noisy it was. We were escorted with another couple and it was only talking to them we realised our booking had been changed. They had also booked the Hippocrates but had received a mail's and phone calls the week before explaining their booking was changed. Fortunately our room was in a quiet section of the complex but it was really badly maintained and on the ground floor it lacked the sea view we'd paid for. We tried to get an explanation from reception as to why we were there and if we could be moved back. We were basically bounced back between the reception/ management of both hotels and never managed to speak to a manager. We called our own supplying agents back in UK and they were not aware we were moved and they also sent urgent a mail's to Kipriotis management. All we got was a vague description of how the company Reservation Team had recently diverted all the bookings to The Village. It was implied that The Hippocrates was full but it clearly wasn't. No apologies and we were made to feel a real nuisance every time we spoke to reception for an update. We tried not to let it ruin our time there but it wasn't a great first two days. Thank goodness we could use the Hippocrates facilities and did eventually get moved. So beware. This company obviously have their own agenda as to where they place their guests. Stick to your guns if you're moved from Hippocrates. But if Management want to respond to this, I'd look forward to finally getting an explanation.

A very wonderful and cosy visit. The animators (Vivi and Mikey) made the whole holiday very fun with their activities, charisma and good mood. Thank you very much. Also very cheerful staff behind the bar and in the restaurant. Overall, I really enjoyed the holiday.

Kos complaint We were beyond disappointed with the hotel in general. I had emailed the hotel in advance explaining that the holiday was a surprise for my wife’s birthday. On arrival; her birthday was acknowledged and there was a birthday cake in our fridge which was a lovely touch. Unfortunately our experience went down hill from there. Our room including the bathroom was dirty and remained that way throughout our ten day stay. On our 4th day we asked reception how frequently our rooms should be cleaned and were informed every 2 days and that our tour operator was well aware of the arrangement. She was advised that our room hadn’t been cleaned since our arrival and although we had been left a clean bath mat we had not had clean towels or clean bedding. On our return from an evening in Kos town we noted we had been left clean sheets for us to make up our bed! The lack of cleanliness continued and again we had to complain, we were greeted with a very curt and disinterested attitude from the receptionist. As before we were left clean sheets for us to remake our bed. Although on this occasion we had been left a bottle of wine and some pastries in our room, presumably this was a gesture of good will. Given we were all inclusive this was little compensation, but we did acknowledge the gesture. For the first and only time we noted the floors in our room had been mopped but there was absolutely no evidence that the bathroom including the bath, shower and toilet had been cleaned throughout the whole of our stay. Other than the reception area the hotel was in an extremely poor state of cleanliness and repair. The tables in the dining room were wiped with an extremely grubby looking cloth that went from one table to another. There was no evidence of the cloths been cleaned in between tables or any detergent/spray being used on the tables. As a consequence we ate the majority of our meals outside of the hotel at an additional and unplanned cost to us. On the occasions we did eat breakfast in the dinning room we observed what looked and sounded very much like heated discussions between a waitress and who we presume was one of the managers. This happened on more than one occasion. I also found it very unprofessional of the aforementioned manager to pile his plate/polystyrene container with as many croissants as he could leaving paying guests to wait for the containers to be replenished. We only used the pool on our first full day. After noting the green slime around the top of the pool we decided to use the beach, this again incurred us additional costs of €10/ day as we had to pay for the sun loungers on the beach. This is by no means a 4* adult only hotel as you sold us. Thick plastic tumblers and wine glasses and the equivalent of a paper Costa coffee cup if you wanted to take a glass of wine or beer to your room do not equate to the 4* description you have given. The evening “entertainment” was dire and more in line of what I would expect from a hotel catering for the under 30’s. Juvenile and reliant on hotelier’s participation. What should have been a lovely surprise and enjoyable holiday turned out to be an extremely disappointing and mis-sold experience. Given the conditions we experienced I would rate this a 2* possibly 3* hotel if improvements on cleanliness were made.
