Stay with us at St Martin Chalets and experience self catering luxury high in the beautiful Austrian Alps and the Lungau UNESCO Biosphere. Our ten luxury chalets are fully equipped for the most demanding self-catering holidaymakers, but we also receive a lot of bookings from people who might prefer the idea of staying in hotels and enjoying catered Austrian holidays thanks to our diverse offerings. For example we can arrange in-chalet meals (that happen to be Michelin starred but without the hefty cost!) and we'll stock your cupboards before you arrive, delivering freshly baked bread rolls every morning if you want. In addition we'll light your fires in winter so your chalet will be warm when you get back, sort out child care, have your ski and summer outdoor equipment delivered and fitted in your chalet... We like to think of it as the best of both worlds - you have all the benefits of a catered chalet, yet you can eat out in town or get carried away with apres-ski without feeling guilty about missing an evening meal. We are situated on-site ourselves (our house is adjacent to the St Martin Chalets resort) and you'll usually find us nearby or busying ourselves in the resort reception, so if you need anything we are never far away. It makes for a fantastically independent holiday for you and your family but in the knowledge that we are right there when you need us. We are a family owned and run business and even built the chalets ourselves so you can imagine our pride and desire to ensure you have the best possible holiday!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had another amazing trip this summer. The chalets are very comfortable and charming. The village is lovely and there are plenty of activities to keep all the family occupied in the area. We will be back.

Highly recommended ! We have stayed in these chalets many times over the years, sometimes large groups (in two chalets) and sometimes a smaller group (in one chalet). This visit, as previously, lived up to all expectations. The chalets are always kept in impeccable condition throughout, and the bedding is so soft and comfy. I would highly recommend staying in any of the chalets, and the surrounding in-house facilities (sauna etc) are great too. Do not miss out on this place, it is truly wonderful and every time has left a long lasting warm feeling on the soul :)

I have lost count of the number of times that we have used these chalets, the fact that we keep coming back is testament to just how good this accommodation is. If you are looking for a classic Austrian ski chalet, which is exceptionally comfortable and well equipped then St Martins Chalets are highly recommended.

Amazing. We stayed in Chalet 2 and it was perfect. Authentic and luxurious. Wonderful place to come back to after a day out on the mountains. Couldn’t recommend it more highly. Very easy to get to from the airport, too.

The chalet was perfect. Great size, amazing kitchen/living space and perfectly set up to get on the slopes. We stayed in Chalet 2 and it is beautifully done out with everything you’d need for a perfect trip. Great proximity to the slopes and very convenient to get ski gear fitted. I will be returning for sure! Thank you so much

I have never written a review for one of our family travel destinations. However, the beauty of St. Martin community, responsiveness of staff, versatile ski slopes to accommodate my daughter who is a beginner and my son who's a 'wanna be' ski racer, and friendly wrap around services from morning fresh rolls on the door knob to ski school, it all adds up to us wanting to go back again. Added benefit is a quick car trip to the bottom station of the gondola and free parking there. Thank you so much and hope to see you soon!

Ok so I am not one to write reviews - it's just not my 'thing'. However having just spent an incredible fun filled family half term at St. Martin Chalets I felt compelled to comment. St Martin Chalets are incredible. Clean, safe, spacious, comfortable as well as beautifully designed. Jodi and her staff are pleasant, knowledgeable, accommodating and were always on hand to make our stay even more enjoyable. The onsite gym, sauna, ski hire and proximity to the local and surrounding slopes made this an ideal location for our young family. You can pre order food and ski hire is all ready for you upon arrival at your chalet. If you are looking for somewhere relaxing with great skiing then St Martin Chalets is worth a visit. I promise you wont be disappointed (although I selfishly don't want other people knowing about this little gold mine........so we booked up for half term 2019 just in case :). Thanks for making this a perfect family holiday in the snow Jodi and Team. We miss you all already x

You cant beat this place with Ski hire on site and the quality of the chalets. Great for the family and for groups. It has a gym, sauna everything you need. The slopes behind the chalet has a great ski school for the kids and adults.

I first discovered St Martin Chalets seven years ago, after organising several ski trips with friends and family before with locations all around France and Austria. However, since our first stay at the chalets here, we have never wanted to go anywhere else again. We have stayed here five or six times since then with our latest visit being just a few weeks ago in January. It is hard to put into words how much we love our holidays to St Michael, staying at the chalets here - all I can tell you is that our friends are always incredibly keen to come back with us again so to keep a bunch of people that eager to return for almost eight years must tell you something about the quality and experience. Jodi is lovely and always extremely helpful, Den is a character and a half, eager to please and providing super convenient ski and boot fitting in the chalet complex itself and Gabi has provided some of the best lessons my friends have ever had. The chalets are warm, cosy and beautifully decorated in an authentic Austrian manner. The resort itself is a joy to visit with a wide range of slopes and runs available - we usually split our visit between St Michael’s slopes and St Margarethen, a couple of minutes drive away. The food is absolutely superb in all of the restaurants in the area both on the mountain and in the valley. The resort is incredibly easy to get to with fantastic road links that don’t involve any hair raising drives up terrifying mountain roads and the only toll road all the way from England (provided you drive via Germany which you would want to anyway) is only about €8. Over the years, we’ve had a couple of visits to the hospital required in our group and the hospital facilities in the neighbouring Tamsweg is really superb - some of the best treatment we’ve witnessed. We love that the chalets are dog friendly too and have been bringing our dog with us every year, getting her worming tablet from the conveniently located vet’s in St Michael itself. We haven’t visited in the Summer yet although we love it so much that we do hope to do so at some point in the future. Meanwhile, we have already booked our stay for next year.

Just had a 3 night stay at the chalets, very picturesque and a great view to wake up to in the morning, see photos... Lovely traditional Austrian chalets, with lake outside. I can imaging it would be fabulous in heavy snow with the fire lit inside. You definitely need a car as it's a little way out of the town. Ski hire on site was great, Den was very Knowledgeable and helpful, spent time with us with our skis. My only small negatives not giving this place 5 star are No toiletries in bathrooms, expected to take shoes off, but the slippers are well used and wouldn't want to wear, the floors were dirty so got black feet! Did 2 meals that were delivered to your chalet, too early and didn't rate them at all, high price for average food, best to go to town to eat, and half the price! Bio box had great breakfast food in but again high price which you could of got yourself for a lesser fee, but amazing bread cheese and meats. Would recommend staying here but take slippers and check out local shops and restaurants.
