Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful apartment in a fantastic mill conversion. This was a real home from home with amazing views and a great location for exploring the magic of Orkney. We stayed in Burnside which means two flights of stairs to reach the lounge/kitchen but worth it for the views especially of the sun setting.

We stayed at the Kiln for a week in mid September. The rain poured on the day of our arrival and Sheena kindly organised for us to get into the property earlier than normal which was really appreciated. A wonderful property and everything we could have wanted for our stay in Orkney, thoroughly recommend. The location worked for us to visit places throughout Mainland.

Another great stay at Sebay. We stayed in the Kiln again for our second visit to Sebay. It is a lovely restoration of an old mill and if you are visiting mainland Orkney there really can't be a better place to stay. Sheena is both welcoming and full of information that will enhance your visit to these lovely islands. the East coast walks are within easy reach of Sebay. Every evening from the Kiln we spotted Greylag Geese with there chicks and a family of Hares with there young both in the field over the stream. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on our visits to Orkney thanks Sheena.

Fantastic pre arrival communication. Easy to find and get into property.Very high standard of finish throughout and cosy.Every detail thought of from arrival pack to extra towels etc. Owners really do want you to have a great experience. Lots of on site parking and 10mins into Kirkwall. Great location to tour the island. The garden area is lovely with benches to sit in to view countryside and listen to the stream running beside the mill. We book many self catering villas in Europe and US and this is amongst the very best ones we’ve booked. Definitely book again.

A great place to stay for a few days and to explore Orkney . The apartment was excellent, comfortable, clean and welcoming. Well worth staying here if you are lucky enough to visit Orkney .would recommend a trip to Hoy and walking to the old man as well as the sites on the mainland.

We stayed for four nights with nine other friends in three apartments and it was wonderful. A fabulous and clever conversion, has been meticulously furnished, maintained and everything needed was there.
A perfect place for a stay in Orkney. Highly recommended.

This was our first time in Orkney so we wanted to stay somewhere central on the main island. Sebay Mill was perfect, only a 10 minute drive from Kirkwall & a short drive from all the main tourist attractions - Italian chapel, Skara Brae, Maeshowe, Brodgar, Highland Park etc. We stayed in the Ladeside apartment for four nights which was excellent, very clean, modern & well equipped. The owners were very friendly, there to welcome us when we arrived & also came round during our stay to make sure everything was allright. For us, Sebay Mill was the perfect place to stay & we would definately return.

We stayed here for 4 nights in the groundfloor, self catering studio for 2 people (Peedie kiln)

It was stunning 😍 It really has the wow factor when you walk in - There was a lovely welcome pack on arriving of cheese, oat cakes, fudge, sweets and marmalade - even traditional music was on the stereo when we walked in 😍

Everything about the place oozed comfort- the chairs, the bed, the duvets, the pillows, the towels, the dressing gowns, the slippers - made you want to make a nest and never leave 😁

The apartment is extremely well equipped and we catered all meals from the kitchen (also had full size dishwasher and washer / dryer) - there is a TV with a DVD a nd video player and a small stereo unit - there is Wi-Fi but it's not strong or reliable enough to download or depend upon but that suited us 😊

There are plenty of books on Orkney to help plan your stay and lots of local info which we really appreciated and plenty of storage space in the hall for all the mucky shoes and wet weather gear which you might need 😁

It was only about 15 / 20 mins from Kirkwall and all it amenities and ideally situated to explore the whole island which we did 😁

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation and would definitely stay there again if I am lucky enough to visit this beautiful place again 😍😍
