Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Another fantastic stay at Kittisford Barton. We are repeat visitors for many years now. We love the beautiful countryside, the woodland walks with our dogs on the private site and so many other things besides. Great for biking too.

We spent a long weekend at John's farm. It was fantastic. The safari tent has all of the basic things we needed, and it was very comfortable. The setting is lovely - very quiet and peaceful. We had a great time, would definitely recommend it.

We had 4 nights at this wonderful place. Welcomed by John who gave us all the info we needed. Wish we had booked longer as on our 4th day we was just getting into the simple but elegant lifestyle this site offers. Only thing these tents need is a little more high candle lighting for the evenings. There is a period where it’s tough to do alot as it’s getting dark. Will defo be returning in the future, maybe even visiting other lantern and larks sites around the country. Simple rural Elegant living.

First time glamping but with a difference - toilet and shower in the tent and a two burner gas hob and a log burning stove, a firepit and a hot tub - but no electricity. Really made you appreciate what a game changer energy "on tap" was for the Victorians! Panoramic views from a large private grassed area from which we gazed at the myriad stars while we sat contented around the firepit. Couldn't get used to the log burning stove but that is surely part of the experience as was the common experience of people using the supplied wheelbarrows to carry the plentiful logs to their cabins. A three-night break that did the trick!

Just packing up having spent a lovely week here with three kids aged 7, 5 and 1. Setting is ideal as they loved spending hours playing in the large meadow in front of the tent while we sat out relaxing and watching. The site itself has beautifully maintained walks and a sweet woods with bonus swings and slide. The coast is just a 40 minute drive away with loads of day trip destinations. The tent itself is clean and well equipped but it's the outdoor space that made this stand out! Honesty shop was a bonus and even had a spot to charge phones.

We have done a few glamping holidays and this was by far the best so far. The location is blissful and the accommodation perfect. Just enough comfort - access to a fridge in the honesty shop, cool boxes, a shower and flush loo - but no electricity, so no screens for a few days. Our boys loved the freedom to play outside whenever they liked, and we loved the peace.

Fantastic place to totally unwind. Set in a field, birdsong day and night. The tent is perfectly equipped with all you need. The beds are super comfy and cosy, the outlook is wonderful. We really appreciated the hot tub and made the most of it during our stay.

Wonderful week away after a strange year. Great for social distancing whilst also being away as so quiet and peaceful. Location fantastic and the honesty shop was a useful resource especially after a long journey down. John who runs the place was very helpful throughout the full stay.

We had a lovely time staying in the Kingfisher tent. Everything we needed/wanted was on site and kids enjoyed the hot tub and playing cards by candlelight. The honesty shop and having a shelf in the fridge was a good idea. We could chill our milk, butter, bbq food and cider 😜 and stock up on charcoal and marshmallows etc in there and being able to charge our phones there was really helpful. Defo worth a visit to White Post Cafe as the food there was yummy and Minehead beach is great for a sandy beach but you can't take dogs on it between May and October.

Well judged mix of comfort (space, qualiity beds, bedding, seating) and simplicity (no electric in main tent yet automatic lighting for loo at night). Tents generously spaced with lovely big verandah. Footpaths leave from every corner of the site which is a big bonus if you like walking. Perfect for bikes as nothing that near but not very far either.
