Arrived really early for check in as we were going to a wedding. Absolutely no problem, showed us to our room, gave us the key and said they would take our bags up later when the room was cleaned.

Got back about 10pm nice welcome, very friendly feel to the bar and service great.

Room was comfy and the bathroom looked new, with an excellent shower. Fan in our room was welcome as weather still very muggy.

Went down for breakfast, lovely cheerful welcome and an excellent breakfast. Offered extra toast, no way was full.

Would I come here again without a showdown of a doubt.

Very nice clean room with good shower in bathroom. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
Would definitely stay here again.

Wellington is a nice friendly market town and makes a ideal base for visiting this part of Somerset and Devon.

There is nothing to recommend about this hotel. New owners were completely out of their depth and couldn’t even cook eggs. Over priced supierier double room should have been £188 but we were charged £238 which is the price of their family room which we didn’t request.
Price included breakfast. On the first day the breakfast was a joke. I ordered full English with scrambled eggs it took 90 minutes to arrive long after others recieved their breakfast. The fried eggs were obviously deep fried in a good depth of fat. They were burnt to a crisp around the edges. My wife’s fried egg arrived 60 minutes before by scrambled. The bacon was burnt on the underside and the toast overcooked.
As a breakfast it was virtually inedible. The new owners were complaining that the kitchen was too small to cook breakfast. Our room was left unserved all day and when we returned no bed made no towels changed no new milk or coffee so not possible to make a coffee on the next morning.
It was also not possible to have breakfast on the second day because the owners put a sign up saying no breakfast.
This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and no apology from the owners for the lack of hospitality, over charging of room and no offer of a discount for the lack of breakfast.
This was a disgrace. These new owners need to take some responsibility and offer me a refund given the over priced room and lack of breakfast on the second day and burnt breakfast on the first day.
I paid £238 in stead of £188 and a refund of 50% would be appropriate given the dreadful service.

Started reasonably well as the place has just had a total revamp so was as it should have been clean and well presented, having ordered a chicken dish which was served on a plank off-cut from the refurbishment it was fair to say presentable the first thing that was noticeable was the stuffing felt like a lot of gog in your mouth not what was expected ate what was palatable only to leave feeling queasy?
Got home and threw up and felt terrible for the next 24hrs Only eat here if you have a cast iron stomach !!

thought that they should know about the events of that day and looked for their T/phone number on the net Yell.com Number was unobtainable Surprise Surprise !!

enjoyed 2 nights here with very friendly staff and a great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant that served good food and a hearty breakfast. Very clean quaint rooms with everything you need and considering its a pub downstairs was nice and quiet.

We have just stayed the night at this pub, what a smashing place, friendly staff, a great recently refurbished room that was spotless. It is a shame they do not have a car park and you need to park in the council park on the other side of Road, but it was not really a problem.

At dinner I elected for the stuffed pepper, chips and salad, this was quite nice although I would have liked the rice infill to have had a bit more flavour and it was a bit dry,but generally it was ok. My wife a meat eater had the gammon steak which she said was excellent.

In the morning we were offered a varied menu, we elected for the full English breakfast mine with no meat, in previous reviews I've shouted, I've screamed, please give me as much food as my meat eating wife, breakfast arrived, I had two eggs, one tinned tomato that was cold in the middle, one flat mushroom, a small spoon of beans, the sort you get in services that have been under the lamps for too long, and toast. My wife's full English was just that, pretty much the same as mine with the addition of two large rashers of bacon and a sausage, so as usual I pay the same for a lot less. The consequence of this is I have to try a stave off hunger with more toast.

Nearly 100% of the time the food arrives and the veggie food is placed in front of my wife, is this the clue, do they assume ladies eat less?

Good morning Is car park available in the hotel or around there? Thank you Roberto Malaguti

There is on street parking but limited to 30 minutes during the week. However there is a public car park opposite the hotel which is very reasonable.
