We've been staying here for three nights as part of a 10-day multi-lake holiday we booked at the Dutch ANWB. We were staying with two kids (14 and 11) in a huge apartment with kitchen that offered a loft with two separate beds with airconditioning, a separate bedroom closed off by double doors and a separate airconditioning unit, all arranged around a square and overlooking a nice restaurant.

Pros:
* Has a full kitchen with cooker, refrigerator and separate freezer
* Simple bathroom with shower and toilet. There's no separate toilet.
* Has a huge balcony with a full lounge set and two separate loungers. Also has a big foldable drying rack.
* You get a welcome drink (juice or Prosecco)
* Extremely friendly personnel
* Pretty clean but needs some maintenance here and there.
* Two very quiet airconditioning units that keep the entire apartment nice and cold
* Free parking outside as well as in an underground garage (although there were limited spaces because of some leakage)
* If you book half board, breakfast is served in the hotel itself and pretty decent. Dinner is provided through an adjacent restaurant which has a great atmosphere.

Cons:
* There's no separate toilet, so with two older kids, that can be challenging.
* Wifi is pretty bad and really needs an improvement.
* The inner doors creak and are difficult to open without waking up everybody.
* The apartment has an old-fashioned key chain. But you can leave them at the reception, so you don't have to carry them around.
* They offer a decent three course meal, but no dessert. You can ask for it but have to pay for it. If you feel for dessert, better go to the ice cream / cocktail bar at the other side of the square. It has more choices and is cheaper.
* The shower had some old sanitation kit that looked like it had mold on it, but it was just discolored.

You definitely need a car if staying here . There is a pebble beach within walking distance. Hotel has nice spa facilities and main areas well maintained , but rooms a bit tatty especially the bathroom and shower was hopeless. Air con refuses to go down and it seems this hotel is following Italian government guidance for public buildings so can be difficult to sleep.
Staff though are lovely and food very good.

We found this hotel to be excellently positioned to use as a base to explore everywhere around the lake- local restaurants very nearby and the hotel arranged an excellent limousine service to get us arouns with minmum inconvenience. Very easy to get into Milan from here.
Full of local history and very pretty town centre/port. One thing to be wary of is that the lake beaches do get very crowded at weekends. Otherwise a great place to take a vacation and we will certainly be visiting again.

First of all, if you haven't been to Lake Garda, you should definetely go there! The views are splendid and they differ a lot depending on the direction you're looking at. Hotel Donna Silvia is a nice hotel, not so far from the beach (5 minutes of walk). Rooms are very big, clean and with a comfortable balcony! The hotel is near a street, but it's quiet and it's easy to relax there. Breakfast was ok, but nothing great, The staff was quite nice. The only problem was the swimming pool, which was tiny- impossible to swim in it! But the Garda's cost is not far away.

We have just got back from a week here, and we had a really nice time.

The hotel is in a quiet part of Lake Garda, perfect for unwinding. We were given a very large room, with a wonderful panoramic window that gave an unbeatable view to wake up to every morning. It was one of the few rooms without a balcony I think, but it was well worth it and we felt very lucky to have it. The room was very hot when we first got in but then we realised quite quickly the AC was controlled from reception, who quickly corrected it for us.

The breakfast every morning is conintental and plentiful, efficiently serviced. The hotel bar is also very reasonable, and there's a nice terrace outside overlooking the plaza. There are several good restaurants very nearby.

The staff are really friendly, helpful and accomodating. We also booked a taxi twice through them that was very reasonably priced, to the extent we ended up getting an airport transfer back to Verona.

As I said at the start, the area is quiet and if you are wanting to see the rest of Lake Garda, or you are staying longer than a week, hiring a car would probably be best as public transport was not very frequent. However, for our purposes, where we wanted a radical change of pace from London, a week here in this town (and at this hotel) was perfect.

One final tip: make sure to ask about the wine/olive oil tasting (if it isn't already included in your price), it was delightfully mad and a wonderful highlight of the holiday!

Booked a weeks stay at this hotel. On arrival we were allocated a room at the back, asked if we could move to a front room with a balcony. This was done for us the next day without any problems. The rooms were comfortable and all areas are very clean, we had no problems with the wifi. Breakfast was a good choice of food and kept topped up at all times. The swimming pool area was pleasant .The staff throughout the hotel were all very friendly and welcoming and answered any questions regarding the local area with good local knowledge. It was a short walk to the lake and about a 10 minute walk to Porto Torchio and a 30/40 minute walk to the town centre. The Friday market was worth a visit. We hired a car and the hotel has free car parking. Overall a very pleasant stay and would recommend it if you wanted a quiet hotel - not sure what it would be like during July/Aug as we visited in June.

We arrived to Hotel Donna Silvia on the 14th of June after a heavy trip from Austria. The hotel is very nice and the people that work there are very kindly and they help us for the 5 days spent there.
The food was fantastic!!! I Knew the Cooker, a nice and funny Italian person. All the services are good. The Hotel is very close to the lake (300mt) so we spent 3 days on the beach and one time we have had the possibility to rent a Boat in the Hotel. Wonderfulllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!
I love the Garda Lake...and next year I'll be here another time and for sure I'll book in Hotel Donna Silvia.

You can't all have a room with a view, but didn't expect a brick wall. Rooms just ok, clean......hotel situated 3.6 km from town so bit isolated. Lake beach short walk 200m. 2 sunbeds and umbrella 16 euro a day, bit much. Went for half board, meal in local restaurant. When they know your in hotel the menu disappears and a scrap of paper came out with two choices starter and two main. There's a club right opposite, can't hear any music but I seem to have got the clubbers in next room so lots of noise all night till 4am....8am my turn to be noise...first impression...not good

Dear Guest, we are very sorry to read your review especially because, you're still here with us. We would like to clarify some points that you have superficially underlined: Our hotel is correctly listed in google maps so it 's amazing how a web person like you, didn't checked out our position and the neighbour before booking. The public beach with umbrellas and sunbeds for a fee that you have chosen, as you already knew, does not belong to our Hotel, so we suggest you to open another negative review somewhere else to those who provided the service or send an email to our government to give them some suggestions, as 50% of the amount are taxes !! Regarding your note about your noisy night neighbour, you forgot to write that the very next day we offered a room change that you probably refused to be coherent with your already-written-review! We also pay a night shift who you should have contacted that night, he's there from 23 to 7 just to help you!!!! About the restaurant: we want to clarify that,as you already know, is independent from our Hotel and we ”work with him to give our Guests the chance to book half board meals with a special low price with a dedicated menu. For those who are not satisfied with that, there's an easy chance to upgrade, with a little extra, to the a-la-carte menu! We always try to improve ourselves to give a better service to our Guests, but, sometimes, it seems that some of them are happy just to complain and even in a "unfair" way. Does it happen you're sided in this category? Our best regards

We have just left this hotel after 4 nights stay and are hugely impressed with the standard of comfort and cleanliness.
The rooms are well kept and the hotel is modern and cared for.

The staff are very receptive and Helga the manager is a delightful lady.

There is plenty to see and do in the near vicinity and the sea is only a short distance walk. We would visit again!

Pictures do not do the hotel justice.
