Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First visit to this campsite and I would highly recommend. The staff were lovely and friendly. Showers/toilet block was immaculately clean. Pitches are a bit cramped which seems to be the norm in Europe. On site hire of kayaks, paddle boards. Walking distance to ferrys.

Fantastic camp site!! we just turned up during peak season and the man was very friendly and accommodating. We stayed here for four nights and it was great value for money. The facilities were spotless and the location is great as your are within walking distance to the lake. There is a bar on site and the prices are so reasonable and the staff are very very friendly. We ordered food from the take away menu and it was so delicious and again reasonably priced. We came here as a family of six with a small infant and we will defiantly be returning. For children there is a park and toys out the front and they have a small toy area in the restaurant which was great!! Thank you for a lovely stay!!

Magic lake have been very welcoming. Busy holiday season, there’s quite a lot of campervans/caravans cramped into the site. Helpful staff at the reception/bar with guidance with travel. Clean showers/toilets. Cleaning stations. Rentals nearby and off site. One problem is dongo is not the side of the lake you wanna be. The ferries are a nightmare, limited times to get to other places. But beautiful location anyway

Very nice place. Nice people. Right on the lake with directory access. Spots small and rather close, but that is acceptable Clean facilities and standard bar service Can order food from a place, that is uninteresting though. Restaurant selektion around limited We will be back

One thing my partner and I love to do is paddle board. Unfortunately, on our trip to Lake Como, we were unable to bring our own boards along but we learnt that Magic Lake rented boards out - the only place in Dongo. The quality of the campsite looks fantastic. There's a lot on offer from a bike servicing station, boat rental and a well stocked bar. It had a young and adventurous vibe to it - and a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Como. We rented paddle boards for two hours. The staff were mostly friendly - although one of the employees was a little brusque - but were slow and at times, not entirely sure of what was happening. However, we were really grateful to be able to enjoy time on the SUPs on Lake Como - and for a very reasonable 30€ too!

Ideally situated, well managed. Garden like setting. Modern and clean sanitary installation. Friendly and efficient owners. Bio vegetables and finest Italian ice cream within walking distance. Impressive discipline by Northern Como inhabitants wearing masks etc to limit Corona risks.

My wife and i were travelling through Europe in a motor home we hired to see the F1 in Monza. We are not experienced "Campers" as its only the second time we have hired a motor home. I randomly chose camp sites for our road trip through France, Switzerland and Italy. They were of varying standards, generally clean, some better than others. I had some concerns about going to somewhere called "magic lake" as its name didn't fill me with confidence, suggesting it promised much and probably would deliver less than promised. How wrong can you be. The site is run by a young energetic man named David upon arrival (look for the signs as we ended up next door, which is another campsite but no where near as good) we checked in and then David hopped on his bike and showed us our pitch. Plenty big enough for our 6 berth Motor home (i know there were only two of us but with this size of motor home, you have plenty of space and you can keep the Bed made up throughout the trip. If your used to hotels (which we are) this is the next best thing but on four wheels. As i say we are new to this camping malarkey and despite how i wanted to park the Motor home, David had other ideas, as he wanted to ensure we got maximum sun during the day. So we parked up and hitched up the Electric. The site is relatively small, we went to explore once everything was decanted from the Motor Home. There is a nicely maintained block work path around the site and we headed down towards some open ornate metal gated. Wow, just wow, you step through the gates and there is lake Como in its full glory. There is a well constructed and maintained beach with umbrellas and all sorts on non motorised water sports (all very quiet). The view in front of you is fantastic, the lake bordered by mountains. magic indeed The site has a good cafe and very clean washing and showering facilities All the staff are multi lingual, but if they don't understand they call someone who will at the top of the road leading to the site there is a fabulous small shop (i suppose you would call it a mini-mart but really that would not do it justice, the range of fresh cheese and meats is glorious) a short walk away is a medium size supermarket. The on site bar/cafe does tasty well portioned meals. We cooked most of our own meals (using the royal we, i mean my wife cooked). I am gluten intolerant and it makes it easier, but whilst having a drink at the bar, we mentioned to David that there wasn't much i could have other than salad. off on his bike again, 10 mins later he returns with a wheel of cheese from his grandfathers farm. excellent, very tasty We were only due to be there one night as i was on a tight schedule, but we stayed two nights (our neighbours has come for a week and were in their second week!) wanted to catch the ferry to Bellagio (if you go to this site or anywhere on Como do not leave without visiting Bellagio, it is a fantastic, quaint place with terrific shops) David arranged for us to use a local man Giovanni (i think) who did taxi work (there are no taxi companies as such in Como) he was pleasant and very helpful and when we missed our ferry back had no problem coming back later to pick us up. excellent service and very cheap Fantastic site, very clean, terrific view, what more can you ask for, just make sure there is space for us the next time we come.

Three nights in a motorhome. Generous pitch size in a small relaxed campsite. Excellent shower/WC facilities. Bar with free WiFi, restaurant served by local takeaway, good choice of pizza / pasta / salad etc. Amazing location - you walk 5m from the back gates and you are on the stoney beach of Lake Como. Fantastic views. Swim from the beach, hire kayaks and paddleboards from campsite. You can also do kite surfing. Lots of mountain trails nearby. Boat hire 10 minutes' walk. WARNING: A nearby football club hosted a disco/rave on 10th August until 4am. Worth checking for similar before you plan your stay!

Wow what a fabulous site. Been here before and will definitely be going again. My family and I really love this site. The lake access has had some work done to it and it is even better than before. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better. The staff are all friendly and work really really hard. They even recognised us from 3 years ago. The site is clean well laid out and is very relaxing. Personally, we cannot recommend this site highly enough and cannot wait to return for a third time. A big big thank you to Chiara and her brothers for a fabulous holiday

Was our second time at Magic Lake. Our last visit was three years ago. It was fantastic then and it’s fantastic now. The site is a family run site with its own private “beach “ on the lake. It is so clean, and well kept is just perfect. The toilets and showers are immaculate like the whole of the camp. The staff are all family members and are extremely helpful and very friendly. My wife and I noticed how they work so so hard. They never stop. There is so much good on this site I couldn’t possibly praise it enough. We will be back
