Just spent 2 nights at this wonderful Edwardian Country house, everywhere you look, you are immersed in great quality. The ambience is astounding. The owners are lovely, but the person who really stood out, is Monika, the back bone of the establishment, I cannot fault her kindness and genuine personality. As mentioned with other guests, the food is superb, using all... More

It is always a difficult decision finding and training the right people to join our small team here at the hotel, but thank you for recognizing that we made the right choice with Monika. She is a real asset to the business. Thank you also for recognizing the little touches, such as John's homemade shortbread and Jane's attention to detail... More

A beautiful location, friendly welcoming hosts and fantastic views from our room . A perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant were absolutely faultless with fresh locally sourced ingredients. We will certainly be visiting again. It was the ideal surprise for my wifes 40th birthday

We first visited Dunkery Beacon a few years ago, staying on two nights when their restaurant was closed (they only serve dinners from Wednesday through to Saturday). We didn't make the same mistake this time, making a reservation for the first night of our two-night stay. I'd heard glowing reports of the food....and they were all spot on! The only... More

A real gem, tucked up in a picturesque corner of West Somerset. Great hosts John and Jane have exactly the right balance of welcome friendliness and professionalism. Wonderful location, great for walkers and cyclists, a hotel with a history, very comfortable rooms (all beautifully appointed) and fabulous food and good wine list too. If there were 6 stars, they'd get... More

Stayed here for three nights in a double room on the first floor looking out towards the moors. En- suite with a sunken bath, comfortable bed and modern furnishings and plenty of storage if needed. Very nice location, room very quiet and with stunning view on Dunkery Beacon hill. John and Jane are very kind, warm welcome with the and scones. The John biscuit's are the best we've tried in England. If you are fond of astronomy or walking this is a very unique place: dark skies and plenty of paths.

We're very glad you enjoyed your stay here, particularly the peace and quiet together with the stunning views. A shame it wasn't clear enough at night to get the telescope out when you were staying, although we've had some clear nights since and saw some amazing shooting stars recently during the Perseid meteor shower.
