Lady Elliot Island holds a special place in my heart. After our first visit, I was already planning my return. Last visit was during Winter and this time, during summer, it was just as good but with different experiences. We arrived during the hottest week in January and although quite uncomfortable at times, we were easily distracted by the wildlife...

Amazing island, you really feel you are in the middle of nowhere in the ocean, after a 45 minute flight on a 18 seater plane- excellent landing on the minute airstrip. Accommodation basic but clean and fine. food was excellent considering the isolation of the place, brilliant buffet , and supper warm scones on a wet windy day after swimming...

An island eco-gem. Our trip began from the Gold Coast and took us roughly 100 minutes along the coast to the island which seems to emerge from the sea out of nowhere. We were greeted by our guide who kindly gave us a quick island briefing and led us to the restaurant for a chilled welcome drink. The briefing is...

After desert island camping trips to South Molle, and Whitsunday islands(western side), where the snorkelling wasn't so great, we finally bit the bullet and decided to go resort style on LEI. We're so glad we did. The children were able to tick off every creature from finding Nemo, my husband was able to get in some diving, and we all...

Admittedly we had average weather so that influenced our view. Mantas were super cool but it was super windy and rough seas. The staff were very nice and the location is obviously pretty amazing, it seemed expensive compared to other travel options. In summary glad we went, wouldn't go twice.

Beautiful island to see turtles, rays, manta rays and birds, birds and more birds. The accommodation is basic but comfortable. The food is good and heaps of it. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Great for families. Expect to relax and unwind.

Had a really unique & memorable experience with all the family, however as much as the accomodation was comfortable & the staff were warm & friendly the general the grounds, facilities and pool area are in desperate need of TLC. The overwhelming smell of bird poop is horrendous especially worse in certain areas which we had to avoid. The pool...

Dear Vivienne M, Thank you for taking the time to review Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort on Trip Advisor. We are pleased to hear that you had a nice time with your family on Lady Elliot. This eco lodge style resort prides itself on a sustainable view to showing guests the reef and island. Lady Elliot does this really well. This adds to the experience on an island where guests can be close to nature and learn of the many Great Barrier Reef miracles by simply walking outside your resort room. Swimming, snorkelling and diving all...

We were here 35 years ago and delighted to come back and find it is still a low key resort ( albeit with many extras that weren't available then!) ) with the focus being the reef and its conservation.. Accommodation is basic but adequate and ideal for a short holiday where you want the focus to be discovering the island...

Lady Elliot Island has been my dream since 2011, when I read about this place in Lonely Planet. In May 2016 my dream became true. Or actually it was much better than a dream! We loved every single moment on the island - it's such a beautiful place full of birds, manta rays, great snorkeling and diving! The food was...
