Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Everything about this hotel is fabulous, location is great for beach and Skala centre, our room was modern & spacious with a lovely view of the sea, food in their taverna was excellent & plentiful and the service all round were second to none. Nothing was too much trouble & we felt totally relaxed. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well managed. Lovely well sized clean pool. We had a fabulous time & would highly recommended. Should have a 4* rating rather than a 3* Thank you all at Paspalis for making our holiday special.

Stayed here with my wife for 11 night's at the end of September into early October. We arrived early at 1pm but we were checked in by Costas and shown to our room. We were in room 57 which is is a superior sea view. The room was large, spacious, plenty storage space and a lovely balcony. Breakfast was served from 8-10 in the front taverna overlooking the sea, beautiful. There was Greek yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, honey, toast and for cooked offered scrambled eggs, bacon and beans. More than enough to suit everyone. Everything was perfect but the stand out thing about this hotel is the staff. In no particular order as all were fantastic, shout out to Lisa, Ellis, Anna, Yannis, Alex and all the cleaning staff. The location is great with the beach over the road and a ten minutes walk into town. We highly recommend this hotel if you are going to Skala. We will return.

Room Tip: Cats roam freely in the restaurant picking up anything you drop! We didn’t find this a problem.

This review is for Villa Mare, a private villa associated with the Paspalis Hotel. There is so much to love about the Paspalis Villas. Of course, the panoramic views of the Ionian Sea and coastline are stunning and at the top of our list. In addition, our 2-bedroom, 2-bath villa (Villa Mare) was equipped with all the modern conveniences (e.g., full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, super-efficient and quite air conditioning) that allow for us to completely disconnect when we want privacy. Even the principal room’s shower has a window that opens up to vast views and provides a refreshing Ionian Sea breeze. The private pool is perfectly situated so that even a midnight swim comes with impressive views! We happen to be there during a full moon on a clear night: magical! We secured a private chef (not for everyone, I know) one night and we ate a wonderful, locally-sourced meal on the deck. We opted not to rent a car, because our villa is a short walk to Skala for dining, shopping (groceries and souvenirs), and beach fun. For those who rent a car, each villa has private parking. The owner of the villa was extremely pleasant and available to answer any questions. We also enjoyed a discount on dining at the Paspalis Cafe, which we also highly recommend. The staff felt like family after only a few visits. We will be back: Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful place. We had a week here but would book for 2 next time. The rooms are clean, comfy and quiet, the staff are fabulous. The breakfast was great, everything you could want from Greek yoghurt and fruit to full cooked breakfast. The pool area is always clean and wasn't too busy, the beach is a 2 minute walk and perfect. The food of an evening is exceptional. If you want to walk into town to try different tavernas it is a short walk along the sea front. I would recommend a private transfer so you get to enjoy more time here.

Booked for a week, had a superior room which was really nice. Great beds, bathroom and shower. Plenty of wardrobe space. The staff at the hotel, bar and restaurant are great. Kept really clean, on the beach and handy for the centre. Would stay again if come back to Skala.

We have been visiting Skala for many years and Paspalis is always a favourite of ours. You are made to feel like part of the family and this coupled with the perfect setting will capture your heart. On this particular visit hubby opted for the chicken in a mushroom sauce with rice and I had the chefs salad. I could be slightly biased but I think the salad is the best on the island. My picture captures the romance of our evening with a dining experience next to the pool. Heaven :)

We stayed in this accommodation for a week 11 years ago. Couldn’t fault it Fast forward 11years and a cancelled trip brought us back to Skala on the pretty island of Kefalonia Sadly our choices were very limited so we stayed elsewhere on this trip We very quickly found the accommodation we had booked really quite poor So we came back to the paspallis to spend our days around the pool as a day visitor The property still looks great A few small additions and fresh paint as you would expect Other than that it was like going back in time Such a nice place to be …. Just across the road from the beach …. Not that we needed it The same friendly family run place we remembered Quite and beautifully kept Smiling staff Great food and drink Guess what????? We still cannot find fault in this property or it’s management in any way This hotel and staff have saved our holiday Thank you
