Just returned from another fabulous stay at the Aeolos Beach Hotel. Chris, Angela, Andreas, Athos & all the staff cannot do enough for you to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The rooms are spacious & spotlessly clean with a balcony or terrace with either a sea view or overlooking the well maintained gardens.
Breakfast has a vast cold selection supported by various hot options which change on a daily basis along with juices, tea & coffee.
The pool area is lovely for relaxing during the day with plenty of sun loungers & umbrellas provided. The pool bar & restaurant provides refreshing drinks & all food, which is served at both lunchtime & evenings, is freshly prepared & delicious with good sized portions that are very reasonably priced.
The hotel is in an elevated position just off the beach road which affords stunning views. The first tavernas are located a 5-minute stroll from the hotel with the main village a further 10 mins.
From our experience all guest whether returning or first-time visitors are extremely friendly which as previously mentioned provides a large family atmosphere without being overpowering.
We like many guests have already booked for next year & are counting down the weeks until we return.

From the minute that Chris took our bags to the end of our holiday we were made to feel like nothing was too much trouble at Aeolos Beach. I cannot find fault with any one thing. Chris and Angela are consummate hosts that would not be out of place running a five star hotel. But although efficient they are also friendly always remembering your name and making small talk if wanted. My wife joked that there is a sign by the pool that says to wash feet before entering, but ALL the floors are so clean in the place that your feet never get dirty.
The breakfasts were good with beautiful Greek yoghurt fruit and toast with a daily selection of hot buffet (the spinach and cheese is my favourite by far)
The dinner selection is simple grill offerings well cooked and after going round all the restaurants in Skala still offering the tastiest Greek salad.
We came at the end of the season so didn't feel the need for the Air con so keeping it as a separate charge and not adding to the price of the holiday really makes sence to me.
Like a lot of the other guests I think we'd come back if we came to Kefalonia again.

We would highly recommend this small and friendly hotel, as we had a wonderful holiday. The hotel is in a lovely location close to the beach with plenty of sun beds and within easy reach of a bakery, supermarket, bars and restaurants. The hotel is set back off the road in a quiet area facing the sea and so it was perfect for a holiday in beautiful Kefalonia. The beach road is flat,
but just be aware that the road up to the village of Skala and the drive up to the hotel is quite a steep incline.

All the staff at Aeolos Beach hotel are friendly and extremely hard working. We felt welcome straight the way and there was a really happy atmosphere in the hotel by staff and guests alike. Chris and Angela the owners always spoke to the guests using their first names and took a real interest in what they were doing during the day and gave advice on restaurants and places to visit.

The pool is large and there were plenty of comfortable sunbeds, so no need to reserve! The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfy super king sized. We had a room on the top floor and this had a balcony facing the sea.

We did not eat at the hotel at night as we always go out to restaurants, however the food looked very nice and all other guests highly recommended the food to us.
The breakfast was very good and there was a choice of hot and cold food.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Aeolos Beach and would return.
Thanks again to all the staff.

Stayed here the final week of season due to the fact that it was a bargain price, had excellent reviews and the hotel we usually stay at, the 9 Muses, was fully booked.
I’d say most of the reviews were spot on. Chris and Angela are a perfect mix of professional and friendly and their son, Athos is a great young man.
Hotel was spotlessly clean, has a great pool area and bar, and seems to have many repeat guests. Easy to see why.
The only reason I’ve rated it 4 and not 5 is that our room on the ground floor didn’t have much of a view and the fact that it is a 15 min stroll into town, albeit a lovely stroll with a few tavernas on the way. Its location is approx 3 min walk past the Regina Dell Aqua, another hotel we’ve stayed at.
I’d highly recommend the Aeolos, especially if you manage to get a room with a view and aren’t as lazy as me.
If the price is right go ahead and book and you need have no concerns whatsoever.
Enjoy !

Aeolos beach hotel is absolutely amazing and has got to be one of the best places that I have ever been to. Chris is a lovely person and nothing is too much trouble for him. He makes guests feel so welcome with many returning over and over again.
This was our 3rd time of staying here the last being 8 years ago and we were so happy that the standards remained so high.
The rooms are well appointed, extremely clean and serviced regularly. The bed was HUGE with a really comfortable mattress and pillows. I slept extremely well during my stay.
The pool and surrounding areas are pristine with ample sunbeds and parasols. It is a lovely pool to swim in and due to the hotels position, the views from the pool area over Skala beach is wonderful.
The bar and restaurant area is very well kept and it was a pleasure to both eat and drink their.
It was my birthday on the day that we arrived so my birthday cards were in our room. One lovely touch was that one of the ladies who serviced the rooms, cut fresh flowers from the garden and left them for me. Such a lovely gesture.
All in all I would definitely recommend Aeolos beach to anyone as a wonderful peaceful place to stay in Kefalonia. Thank you to Chris and his lovely team for making our stay such a happy one.

Having never been to Kefalonia, wasn’t sure where to book so we were guided by the reviews and were not disappointed. As soon as we arrived we were made most welcome by Chris and Angela. The apartments, pool area and bar were so clean and our hosts were always on hand for advice on places to visit, etc. There were plenty of sun beds and the food in the bar was really tasty.
Beach towels can be supplied think they were 3 euros for the week but saved us space in our cases, also air conditioning and safe deposit were at an extra cost if needed at a reasonable charge.
The beach was a short 5/10 minute walk down the hill and the village centre was a lovely 15/20 minute evening walk with the beach and bars on either side. We would definitely recommend and hope to return.
Thank you Angela and Christos for your hospitality.
Love Martin and Anita xx

Just had a fantastic holiday in Skala, highly recommend the resort, very relaxed, laid back, with great food in every restaurant. However, the highlight of the holiday was the quality of the Aeolos hotel and the service and comfort provided there. The rooms are quite spacious for Greece, and the balconies also well sized. The beds feel very new and top quality, and even the sun beds have thick padding on. The rooms have a little fridge, a safe and air conditioning. Towels and sheets changed at least twice a week. The owners are very friendly; and have great attention to detail and everything is always gleaming and polished. The food and drink is top standard. We were there through August into September and not once were all the sun beds and parasols taken, so nobody bothered trying to reserve them with towels. Thank you Chris & Angela & your Aeolos team for a perfect month.

Absolutely wonderful stay at this wonderful hotel. We were on a delayed flight and didn’t actually arrive until after 13.00 but Chris and Angela were waiting to greet us. Our room was large and airy and very comfortable especially the bed. Quietly located at the side of the hotel we could see the sea from the balcony plus beautiful views over the countryside. Breakfast was adequate with a good selection of meats, cheese, cereal, breads etc plus fruit and juices. Cooked breakfast was also included. We ate out most of the evenings but snacks, burgers and sandwiches were available at lunchtime and evenings. Good bar on site too.
The pool was fabulous. Excellent rectangular size and very clean. Lots of loungers so never a problem finding one empty.
The hotel is a little way out of the resort but you could walk it in 20 minutes and there were lots of eateries enroute to choose from. There is a steep climb up to the hotel from the coast road but it’s not a problem if you’re reasonably fit - by the end of the week we could do it in one go without stopping!! Guests also used the relatively cheap taxis to take them in and out of the village.
Really recommend this lovely hotel if you’re after something quiet, laid back with wonderful owners and staff who take real pride in making sure that you have the best stay ever. Nothing was too much trouble and we were sorry to leave.

Chris and Angela welcomed us to the hotel as we arrived. The couple are the best hosts and make sure everyone was happy everyday. What a great business relationship they have doing each of their role.
The hotel is perfect 28 rooms and nice to speak with other couples and families who have been returning to the same hotel every year 14 and 24 years. This was our first time and I would definitely go back.
Recommend turn left at the bottom of the hill to get fabulous ice creams for just 2 euros. Beautiful cakes and what a choice. Hot foods and other goodies sold too.
Go on the boat trip with captain vangalis Poros, Sami and visit the caves finally fiskardo. On our return stop off for a swim on a beautiful small cove beach worth the money.
Many Greek restaurants to try in town the Manor House, scirocco, and the village to name a few.
Thank you kefalonia for wonderful amazing holiday 💗

We've been to Skala before and loved the area so booked Aeolos after reading the reviews. The hotel is what it says on the tin, small and friendly. The owners Christos and Angela are lovely, very friendly but professional along with the rest of their team. They've owned the hotel for many years and a lot of the guests were return visitors. We have been to other hotels like this where it can end up feeling like a 'clique', however it was not the case at Aeolos. The other guests were really friendly and children were very well behaved. The room was basic but nice and the hotel was very clean. The pool area is lovely and we never had a problem with sunbeds, there was no getting up early to put towels on. There was a good choice at breakfast, the fresh fruit, yogurt and honey was my favourite but there was always a hot option. The hotel served food most of the day, it is a basic menu but the food is tasty. One thing to note is that air conditioning and the use of the safe have to be paid as extras, this is common in smaller hotels in Greece. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was 130 Euros for air conditioning and 50 for the safe which can be a bit of a shock for anyone on a tight budget, but well worth it during the recent heatwave. We had come across this before so had expected it. It is a good walk to the centre of Skala, just over a mile, but it's along the beach road and there are bars and restaurants on the way where you can stop and have a drink. Skala itself has a great selection of restaurants in quite a small area, the area is partially closed off to traffic so nice to wander around quite safely, very good for families. The restaurants are so good it's hard to decide where to eat for the last few days. On return, the hotel is set back from the main road, the last 200m is up quite a steep hill so not great for anyone with mobility issues, although taxis aren't too expensive if needed. As the hotel is set back it is very quiet and peaceful. We have had one of our best holidays here and will definitely be return visitors. I would highly recommend a stay at Aeolos. Well done all, Kath and Mike x

It is quite steep in places to a point where some coaches decline to do it. Probably a hundred yards top to bottom but access to most rooms and the bar etc cuts this short or gives the option of steps. Takes just 5 mins to navigate which is tricky in the heat but should not be a deal breaker unless you have serious mobility issues, in which case take a taxi, don’t miss out.
