We stayed here for 10 nights at the beginning of September. On arrival Andreas welcomed us and quickly checked us in before taking us to our room. Room was very basic and needed some updating. Beds were not the comfiest and were pretty hard. Rooms were cleaned everyday and were spotless. Wi-Fi was hit and miss and would work on occasions. First night we woke up freezing as the air con was on and we realised we couldn’t turn it off as there was no remote. Our safe broke on the second day after paying 10 euros for this and we never got a replacement or the money back for this. Breakfast was very poor and not much choice. The bar and food the hotel offered were all reasonably priced. BBQ night was ok just lacked a bit of atmosphere but the food was lovely. The only downfall was when we paid for the food and drinks and then was told this wasn’t paid for when it was so just make sure that you keep in mind what you have paid for as otherwise they may try to get more money off you. Pool area was lovely with some nice views looking out to the sea. The location of the hotel was up a very steep hill so most nights you needed a taxi to get back up the hill and this was only 6/7 euros.

My husband and I are just returning from 2 weeks to this beautiful island ,our 4th visit in 12 years. We always stay at the Zyphyros as it's very peaceful, friendly, and has an amazing pool with panoramic ocean view to die for. We hadn't visited for 8 years, but it always feels like coming home. Andreas and his team work very hard to make you comfortable. It's spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and rooms are a good size. Breakfast is basic, but for us, perfect, cheese ham, tomatoes (the sweetest I've ever tasted), coffee, juice, yoghurt fruit, etc.. Food is served at the bar till 4 and has a simple but delicious menu. Everything is homemade ( Andreas grows his own potatoes for the chips, which were crispy and light). If you can, get a sea view room, and it's definitely worth it for having a coffee or glass of wine on the terrace ...Kefalonia is a stunning island, I would suggest getting a car as there so many lovely spots to visit, our favourites were Sami (excellent sea food) and Agia efimia and the countryside and mountains are spectacular! Hopefully, we will be back to visit Andreas in the next few years!

Just had a week at the Zephyros and I can see now why so many people return. Traditional, family run hotel which has such a chilled vibe and all the staff went above and beyond for you. Our room was huge and as everywhere was, very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Thank you all, 😊

Peaceful Break here this week. Relaxed hotel with a nice bar and pool area. Owner and staff are really friendly which adds to the welcoming feel of this hotel. Walk to the beach is fine. Walk back gets the heart pumping! 🤣 Room was nice and clean and kept so for the week by regular cleaner visits.

This hotel has some good points and some less good points. There was nothing particuarly bad about our experience but there are several things that would have improved our stay. It does have lovely views and the swimming pool is great. The bar area is nice enough, however it is dissapointng that food is not served after 4pm. This is a little inconvenient due to the location of the hotel. The rooms are clean, however they are indeed basic with a fridge and kettle but no water or tea/coffee provided at all which feels a bit mean when arriving after a long journey. Breakfast is also basic with little variety. I appreciate that it isn't a luxury hotel but just a few small changes would make this place a little more special for guests.

This place is off the beaten track, no worries, 10 min walk into town/village, 5 mins to beach or supermarket ( many more in village) yes its on a hill, you can use the top road, which is a flat walk, or get a taxi ( 5 euro). we have stayed 5 times with no regrets, very clean with a very warm welcome, good food and cold Beer with a decent swimming pool, with a sea view.

If you want a commercial hotel, then this probably would not suit you. However, a holiday where the owner treats you like family. The rooms are basic but very clean. There is a steep hill to walk to the town, where most people do walk down and get a taxi back for around 6 Euros. Talk to the taxi driver, and I am sure they will know Andris, the owner. Anything you want to know, he has a mindful of information. He recommended a boat trip for my daughter, granddaughter, and I. I have been on many boat trips all over Europe and Australia and this far exceeded them all! Everything you eat is home grown, for breakfast so much to offer but if you still want typical egg bacon etc, there are restaurants where buy this. Lunch time try the Greek Salad amazing. If you just want a chill out sample Greek Life, you will not get a better chance than staying here. Definitely will be back

Back to our second home💕we found this hotel in 2012 and have been coming ever since (only covid stopped us). We have been in August, may and this time end of june into july. We have tried other places but they weren't Zephyros... From arriving nothing is too much trouble, over the years we have stayed in different rooms around the hotel and to be truthful every one you can not fault. If you every have any trouble, please tell andreas Yes breakfast is basic, but you can fill up on what is available. Some days the pool area was busy then other days you nearly had that lovely pool to yourselves . This year we met Michael who worked tirelessly during the day and Alex ran the bar and a night who we met last year. All staff are excellent and nothing us too much trouble The bbq night, wow never disappoints, sooo much food. You don't need entertainment because this night is so good to get to know fellow guests. Over the years we have met so many lovely people, which we now call friends, keep in touch we have met up at Zephyros second homemany times. Such a friendly hotel, I could never go back to a big hotel. The hill doesn't get any easier, but a nice stroll down to town, where we have a cocktail, then something to eat then back for a few more cocktails before getting a taxi back to the hotel for 6€ Andreas please never change, you make us so welcome, we laugh about your chickens and goats. We love oreo such a beautiful 🐕 Lots of love to marianne and chara Booked for next year, counting the days down

What a fantastic holiday, again. We have been to the hotel several times before, and are never disappointed. Andreas was there to meet us, despite our delayed flight arriving in the early hours of the morning. We were treated like one of the family by Andreas and his staff, Michael and Alex. The views are amazing with plenty of sun beds both in the shade of trees and under umbrellas around the pool, The pool is peaceful and relaxing, and the food served at the bar is delicious and great value. The BBQ night on a Thursday is out of this world, with food a plenty. The rooms are cleaned every day, with the towels and bedding changed frequently. The hotel is situated on the hillside, perfect for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The walk down to the beach and Skala village is not too onerous, and if your legs can't manage the return walk, there is a taxi rank for the ride back at just 6 euros. We just love coming back to this hotel, and have already booked for next year. Thank you Andreas, Marina and all your staff for another amazing holiday.

My first visit to this hotel was nearly 20 years ago when it had just opened, and I have returned countless times with different family members, who like me have fallen in love with everything it has to offer. From the warm welcome you receive from Andreas, his family and staff, the wonderful views from the pool, the quiet location and delightful rooms to the delicious food, excellent cocktails and cold beers, you couldn’t ask for more. Positioned on a hill there is a short walk into town where you will find excellent restaurants and bars and if you want then you can decide to walk back up the hill or grab a local taxi which is always my preference. Like myself the hotel has numerous people that return time after time to enjoy everything this wonderful hotel has to offer. Looking forward to my next visit.
