Lovely family run hotel, the staff were amazing and so helpful, from Billy the owner advising us where to eat, Barbra advising us on trips and Gianni at the bar giving Greek lessons!! The hotel is kept spotless so extra credit to the cleaning staff especially the cleaner who without asking provided us with an infill pillow after we tried to make our 2 pushed together singles into a double! All the rooms have a Sea view with a balcony and come equipped with a kettle and a small not very powerful hair dryer in the bathroom. We booked this through TUI as a self catering holiday, it definitely isn’t as there is nothing other than the kettle to cook on!! The pool is spotless and amazing when the waterfall comes on! We got caught out with the early risers putting towels down then going out for the day but 20m over the road is a steep path down to a secluded bay (not suitable for those with prams or with mobility issues) and it’s lovely to snorkel there. Breakfast is a choice of fresh bread, toast with a choice a jams and cereal with coffee, tea and fresh juice, a cooked breakfast can be ordered if required. The hotel is slightly more expensive than in the town with prices 1 to 2 euros dearer but you pay for convenience! It’s a 1.2km 20min walk into town with a few nice bars and restaurants to pop in on the way for a drink and relax. All in all I would really recommend a stay here as it’s so relaxing, beautiful and welcoming.

Firstly I must say that Billy and Barbara have a beautiful hotel and family in a stunning location.

The Hotel and its grounds are kept spotlessly clean and all the staff and groundsman were very polite and helpful

The Breakfast was spot on with a selection of breads and cereals which was more than enough to set you up for the day.

The lunch menu was as good as any restaurant in skala with fresh produce cooked to a good standard and the portions are very generous.

The pool are is very big and clean with loads of space for all guests with ample amount of sun loungers for everyone. The basket ball hoop is a big hit for all ages !

The bar scene at night is very tasteful and Yannis will entertain you all nigh and is a big hit with all the guests !!Yammas respect !!!! Yannis.

Location is perfect it took us 25 minutes to walk to town or on occasion we had a taxi which cost €5.

Ths cove across the road is a must and is very beautiful the water is crystal clear you can also hire kayaks and paddle boards !
There is also a mini zoo Donkeys , goats , sheep , geese , tortoises
Myself and the family had an amazing 2 weeks and will definitely return!

12 k on the kayak Yammas and respect to all involved at this perfect little hotel

We stayed in Pelagos Bay Hotel for two weeks, it was our first time to Kefalonia and we were made to feel so welcome. We arrived later in the evening and were met by Billy the owner who kindly took our bags to the room while we had a drink in the bar.
The hotel is so clean the two ladies who look after the rooms are complete stars and work like trojans, the lovely man ( Im not sure of his name sorry) who looks after the pool and gardens etc etc etc seems to be there all the time and is very friendly and very helpful;
The bar is well looked after by a day time team , then Yanni in the evening who remembers what you like to drink and always has a smile and a kind word
Billy and Barbara who are the owners are always on hand to give travel advice, about the best beaches the best walks and where to not go on the island. We hired a car and Billy was so helpful with advice on where to go.

Then there is the rescue "farm' Billy is an animal lover and has rescued goats sheep and donkeys, so along with the cockerel and the chickens he has a wonderful menagerie at the top of the hotel, just follow the sound of goat bells, its such a wonderful wake up call to hear the cockerel, the donkeys and the goat bells. My husband has a love of donkeys and visited often. We bought lettuce to feed the tortoises, who knew a tortoise could move so fast at the sound of a lettuce leaf!!
We ate lunch a few times in the bar and it is well cooked and well priced, especially the strawberry milk shakes!
Thank you Billy & Barbara, Yanni, Nicky, Yanni and Sophia for an amazing 2 weeks in the sun, we loved the hotel and loved the island, Thanks for the great hospitality and one day we will hopefully meet again,

Rooms were really basic. €20 a week for a basic safe for your for your valuables in your room. €50 euros for basic air con for 7 days. Cleaning staff ignore do not disturb signs…. If you’re not out of your room for 10am the cleaners begin to bang on the door. On one occasion I put the do not disturb sign on the door due to wanting a lay in. The cleaner started to bang on the door, I told them I’m in the room, this was ignored. The cleaner then walked around onto our balcony and came into the room through the sliding doors while I was naked… when the cleaner saw I was naked she apologised and still came into the room to continue a task leaving me feeling embarrassed and vulnerable.
It’s been well documented on many other reviews that the breakfast is awful, bread and cheap cereals. Wouldn’t hurt the bank much to put out a bit of cheese, vegetables and yoghurt. Rather than charging €6 for yoghurt. drinks and food more expensive then anywhere else in Skala and for smaller portions. 2 lidl or knock off brands equivalent Icecreams were £12. At the corner shop 10 minutes down the road… £4.
The over friendliness of the owners or the bar staff becomes extremely tiresome, their conversations and effort completely stop, not even a “hello” when they realise you aren’t spending all your money on their £6 ice creams and over priced food a drinks every night. They had constant talk that they like to make “friends” and it’s clear those who were spending all their money at the bar got many benefits, we had to check out of our room at exactly 10am. Our bus didn’t come until 5pm… certain other guests that were spending all there money got to have use of a room to shower and rest in until 5pm when we noticed them handing over their keys. We did ask on check in if we could have a late check out and we were told all their rooms would be really full as they were really busy. No new arrivals came from us checking out at 10am for us leaving at 5pm. For all those people that have written that they have been multiple times… really? Do you really enjoy over spending on things cheaper for a walk into town. Staff made it very clear to avoid us when they realised we were going out eating every night.
Staff overheard that there was “no WiFi in public areas as people should talk to each other” some people have home responsibilities. This shows lack of investment in 2022.

Positives-
Staff member Nikki she was really great. She was equal and fair to all guests. No favouritism or cliques.

Pool was good.

Not far of a walk into town for decent priced meals.

Pelagos Bay Hotel was literally the best hotel ever. The owners and their family are so incredibly friendly and helpful; offering advice on where to go and what to do and always willing to go the extra mile. We travelled as two friends with teenage children and there was so much for them to do… the basketball hoop in the pool was a huge hit. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the air con worked a treat. We ate lunch at the hotel every day- the Greek Salad was incredible!
The location of the hotel was perfect - about a 25 min walk into Skala where there are plenty of lovely restaurants; and a 5 minute walk to a gorgeous patisserie which sells cakes galore and beautiful ice cream. But the real gem is the cove that is directly opposite the hotel; it really is a piece of paradise, crystal clear and loads of fish.
Barbara, Billy and team, thank you so much for a lovely week; we hope to be back next year!!
From Rosanna, Isaac, Sarah, Millie and Harrison xx

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff , who cant do enough to welcome you. The pool area is lovely with lots of sunbeds to go round , so no need to reserve ( 8Euro per beach towel per week hire ).
A 20min walk from main centre of Skala restaurants/tavernas or a 6 Euro taxi ride .
The prices at Pegalo's are far more expensive than town 6 Euro for a beer
( town 3-4Euros), 2.2 Euro's for water ( supermarket .5 Euro's ) .
Breakfast is very basic(bread/toast/jams) 2 cereals available. Tea/ coffee, and fruit juice. You can pay extra for other breakfast items.
We had lunch a couple of times ,plenty of choice, and good food.
The rooms are clean and have plenty of storage space, nice patio area ( all with sea views ), the rooms have a kettle and cups ( bring your own tea/coffee), and a small fridge.
Be aware that you pay extra for safe, air con, and beach towel rental. Air con can only be used whilst in the room, and it takes a while to cool down.

Billy, Barbara, Yanni, Bleppy, Rita and their families make this hotel a very special place. It’s down to Earth and comfortable with a spotless pool, lovely pool area and spotless rooms. It’s not The Ritz but then who comes to Kephalonia for that? What Pelagos lacks in bling it makes up for in comfort and kindness.
Billy and Barbara care about their guests and having spent 2 weeks in their hotel we enjoyed getting to know them and their rescue animals, all beautifully cared for, behind the hotel.
It’s an easy going place, ideal for families like us with children who love a pool day. Also ideal for people looking for peace, it’s a 20 min walk from Scala and is a small and intimate hotel.
Pelagos Bay itself is opposite the hotel and has crystal clear snorkling water and is stunning. The hotel overlooks the bay, has a vista of the sea, and is a brilliant base to explore kephalonia from by car, as we did.
Bar food was tasty and home made, Billy’s mum Yaya is an excellent cook. Yanni is a welcoming and warm bar man.
How many hotel owners go the extra mile to make their guests feel comfortable? My Mum came with us and our 9 and 12 year old, she has mobility problems. Billy and Barbara provided ice packs and offered practical help.
We were waved off by Billy and Barbara this morning and we all shed a tear after a special holiday, but we’ll be back next year.

Beautiful place with sea views. Very clean apartment and friendly staff. Bed comfy enough and lots of space and storage. Nice balcony also. A 20min walk from main centre of Skala so quiet but lovely restaurants/tavernas for a half way cocktail. The prices at pegalos are more expensive than in the town so we tended not to drink there. Breakfast is very basic(bread/toast/jams) 2 cereals available. Tea/ coffee. You can pay extra for other breakfast items but again cheaper in the main town. We had one lunch and food was lovely. Be aware that you pay extra for safe and air con. Air con can only be used when in the room with door shut so if you like to come home to a cool room this isn’t possible here. Also the bathroom never got cool. Room only got cool by the morning but there was a heat wave so air con prob couldn’t deal with it. Wouldn’t stay again as I like a room that I can keep cool and also more available items available for continental breakfast such as fruit and yoghurt. We had a nice time though and pool is lovely. All depends on what is important to you.

We came to pelagos bay in may 2022 after many cancellations due to covid the previous years. We were on a friends and family holiday and this was the perfect place, the spacious pool area, comfy sun-loungers and beautiful views from all our balconies.

The Bay down below was a highlight and absolutely gorgeous!

The only tiny tiny downside for me was the beds, (despite very much appreciating our towel art that the staff made for us on certain days) ❤️they’re definitely not the comfiest, and air conditioning and safe use comes at an extra cost. This wasn’t a problem for us as we used neither especially in the beginning of may however towards the end of our two weeks I think the air con was ready to be used!

However this definitely wouldn’t deter me from returning, everything else was amazing, lunch and breakfast round the pool was lovely. Again the owners and staff were beyond lovely and all the animals were so lush, the whole atmosphere outside was so nice and we couldn’t have asked for a better place for all 10 of us to stay.

Thankyou all for a lovely holiday!

We found Pelagos some 20 years agony accident when walking into Skala Village and stopped for lunch and to visit the beautiful bay just opposite. We booked to return there the following year, The rooms are spotless, as is the pool and public areas. The staff brilliant. We missed our annual 2020 visit and returned last September. The family were welcoming as usual.
