A truly fantastic hotel. We stayed in July 2023 as family of 4 with two young sons aged 4 and 2. The staff in every department are extremely friendly and helpful, a special mention to the girls in the kids club, the lady that comes to do the messy play an the staff in the restaurant beside the beach and also the pool bar. The standard of the food was excellent with plenty of variety. Rooms are spacious and kept spotlessly clean. If i had to look for one fault in the entire stay, it would be the quality of the car seats in the van we booked through the hotel for the airport transfer. Looking forward to returning next summer!

Hotel's Favourite
Recently returned from Astir Odysseus (20th September 2022). Had a fabulous 2 week break there. The hotel is nicely spread around beautiful gardens so nothing feels cramped or tight for space. Room - we had the perfect room (523) which was a swim up room. It was the best swim up pool we have ever had as it was extremely long and set in rock effect surroundings. I would highly recommend paying that extra to have a swim up. Tip - request a swim up in 500’s room number range as the sun is facing the terrace till about 4 pm. Those on the other side (400’s) don’t get the sun till late on. Pools - apart from the swim up there are 2 large pools, both with plenty of available sun beds all day long. The hotel will not allow placement of towels so you don’t have to get up early to guarantee a sun bed. Beach - the hotel is right on the beach. It is a pebble beach which doesn’t suit us so we stayed around the pools. Also, during the 2 weeks, it was windy every day, sometimes very windy so the sea was too rough. Food/drink - we were on an all inclusive package. The food in the buffet restaurant has plenty of choice but mostly only just warm enough. I did mention this to customer relations, who suggested I tell the staff, but I couldn’t see what they could do as all the food is kept in serving tureens. However, for 2 weeks we managed. The hotel also has 2 other restaurants. Guests on AI can use one of them (Argo) once a week included in the package. The other has an extra charge and this is the only quibble I had. We are used to AI means AI - no extra charges. I think they should at least have offered a % discount at this restaurant. Guests on HB got a 40% discount if they dined at Argo. I would have thought the same should apply to AI guests using the second restaurant. The 2 meals we had at the Argo were lovely and made a nice change from the buffet. As far as drinks are concerned, the AI does have a limit but to be honest there are so many which are included you don’t need anything else, and the drinks included are branded, not just the local Greek variety. If you wanted any of the “finer” drinks then there is a small extra but pay, but lots of cocktails, spirits, wine, sparkling wine all included. There is also a stocked mini bar in the room, restocked every day with beer and soft drinks. Location - there’s nothing much else in the area, no restaurants you can walk to but there is a local bus which costs 2 Euros to get to Kos town and only takes about 15 minutes. In Kos town there are lots of tavernas, bars etc which again make a nice change from the hotel. We did this 3 times and enjoyed it. I can recommend a taverna called The Three Spoons, which is off the sea front and up a side street. Good food and lovely service. Trips - the hotel can book trips for you, which are cheaper than if you book though TUI. We did the 3 islands boat trip, which was good. Full day, early lunch (which I have to say was disappointing), swim stop, then the final stop to an island with about an hour before the trip home. We’ll worth the 40 Euros pp (apart from lunch). Overall, we had a brilliant holiday. Astir Odysseus is a bit more expensive than the usual Kos hotels but well worth it. We plan to revisit sometime in the future. If you take the plunge…enjoy! Oh, just one last thing. We booked the whole package through TUI and paid just over £900 extra for the AI for 2 people. The hotel offers an AI upgrade for HB guests for 37 Euros per day, per person, and although I didn’t work out the maths, it seems that doing it that way could be a little cheaper.

After much research of hotels on Kos we chose Astir based on reviews and it’s sea view room category. Having booked months in advance we requested an upper floor sea view room. Upon arrival we were given a lower floor room. Sadly the room is misleading being categorized sea view as shown in the photo I will post. Our view was chaises, umbrellas and the pool with “glimpses” of the sea!! A very unfortunate and disappointing room given our first time to Kos and all the pre-planning and early booking. The room itself was very nice - no complaints, bed was comfortable, A/C worked well. Wi Fi needs upgrading as it was a poor signal and times none at all. Quality of towels needs improving - some were old, worn and thin! We booked half board but only had 1 of 7 dinners at the resort. The resort is very family oriented and lots of unruly children as an FYI. Breakfast was o.k. Parking is easy and convenient. If we return to Kos we would book elsewhere.

Dear flymeaway2, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We appreciate your kind comments regarding room ,bed and A/C. However, we would like to mention that our hotel is family friendly. Therefore, there are families with small children at certain times of the season .Kindly note that room allocation is always subject to availability. What we are sad about though, is that despite we are always visible and most approachable, you went back disappointed instead of giving us the opportunity to explain or assist you while you were still here on your holidays with us. We hope to have the chance to welcome you again in the near future and reverse this first impression. Best regards, Astir Odysseus Kos Resort & Spa

I have travelled extensively over the years always staying at 5 star hotels. I can honestly say hand on heart Astir Odysseus is by far the best in so many ways. The very professional courteous staff from the lowest to the top ranking have ALWAYS been so accommodating and nothing is ever a problem for them. From the moment we arrive until we reluctantly have to leave we have always been treated like VIPs and made to feel very very welcomed loved special appreciated and like family even after 6 visits. I would never stay anywhere else in Kos. I could name so many of the staff but this would be a very long review. Trust me Astir is a very special place for me and my family. Thank you again for everything you do for us, see you all next year. I ❤ you all. Bambos & Louise 🙏

Just waking up to our last morning at the beautiful Astir. What a lovely week we’ve had. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, tidy and feels very superior considering children are allowed. We took our 2yr old boy for his first overseas holiday and he had the best time. All the staff were very accommodating, polite and helpful and work extremely hard. We appreciated all their efforts and good humour! The mini club is brilliant-so much for the children to do and lots of free play. I was apprehensive about the fresh water pools but was pleasantly surprised! Very refreshing and we all enjoyed them. The added advantage was having the beach on site (although rocky so take beach shoes) there is some sand but it’s perfect for little tots as it’s not massive and easy to keep watch over children. If you want to have more of a sandy beach-I highly recommend a trip to tingaki beach only a couple of miles down the road. Hotel will book a taxi for you and cost around €13 each way. From there we hired a sunbed for the day €12 and spent the whole day playing in the sand and sea. We did venture into kos town which was so beautiful also. The winding streets and market etc… were perfect for finding presents for home and keepsake memories for us. Thank you Astir and thank you Kos! We will miss you. Claire/Rich/Noah Dibbins

I will start with the fact that I highly recommend the hotel. We were in it in the first half of October 2023. We chose the All Inclusive option and we don't regret it. This option is worth the price. We have 3 restaurants in the hotel. Each of them is really good. All dishes are tasty and fresh. The choice of dishes should be satisfied with everyone. They have great wine. Meat, fish, fruit. The second thing is the hotel service. Here, the hotel manager did a great job or just all people are great. The service is simply great. Very nice and helpful. Particularly noteworthy is Mr (most likely boss) from SPA and Mr from the Argo restaurant. Their smile, approach to guests, kindness is a model for other hotels. The hotel is large, clean, pleasant with beautiful pools. Most guests are Germany. A little British. Poles - we were probably the only ones. Most guests are families with children. We got a room near the main building. We asked close to the sea but did not succeed. Maybe our room was cheaper from the TUI offer and that's why we got the closer to the main restaurant - this is not a problem, hotel policy, we have no claims although the music from evening concerts made it difficult to fall asleep and some walking to sleep early;). Adding - the hotel is very nice. The service is smiling and wonderful. We recommend

This October was our third visit to Astir Odysseus, three years in a row. Each year it keeps getting better, and I’m so happy with how the hotel listens to customers and continues to work to exceed expectations. This year we decided to splash out on an Executive Suite with Private Pool, upgrading directly with the hotel. From arrival, Andres on Reception gave us a warm welcome, recognising us from previous years and we were taken to our room. The room was spacious, with a free bottle of wine and the outdoor area was fantastic with a sun deck, large pool and sitting area. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a little bit more privacy and peace and quiet. We are a family of three, my wife and I and our six year old daughter, Isabella. In previous years the staff have been great, but not really stand out. This year, I cannot speak highly enough of every single staff member in the hotel. It feels like the service has gone next level, and I genuinely cannot find fault. The first person who stood out for us is the Supervisor at Argo (I still don’t know his name), but every single year he recognises us, gives us the VIP treatment and makes our daughter feel exceptionally welcome. He deserves recognition for always going above and beyond for customers. Secondly, entertainment wise we have never really got involved with the mini club, or daytime entertainment and only really went to watch shows on the evening. What stood out to us this year, more than anything, is the care and attention from the entertainment team. They really encouraged our daughter to get involved during the mini disco and showed care and attention. They went out of their way every day to make us feel like valued guests, from playing bingo in the daytime to watching the shows on the evening. The Air Optic show last night was fantastic, and a really special shoutout to Kiara and Noemi - I don’t think the hotel fully appreciates that you have two exceptionally talented members of staff and that they made everyday a joy for us. The show wouldn’t have been what it was last night without them, and it’s really important to stress that. Our daughter was made to feel so included and welcome by them, and they deserve a bonus or recognition of some sort for making our holiday so thoroughly enjoyable. We did feel a bit secluded at times through no fault of the hotel, it felt very busy and like we were the only Brits in the hotel. A tip to anyone looking for a quiet break would be to look at German school holidays before booking! Thanks again for a fantastic stay, the food, people, drinks, weather and everything else was great. We hope to return next year and experience the fantastic hospitality that the Astir provides guests. Kalimera, and Yamas!

Great hotel. We were travelling with our 4yo son. We enjoyed the grounds of the hotel that offer a mini club in a green shady part of the hotel, activity zone and playground. The pool by the sea was beautiful. The sea is very windy but we knew about that. The biggest advantage is the quality of the food at the main restaurant. Very big variety and very tasty. Congratulations to executive chef Konstantinos. Greetings Agata

Lovely hotel, lovely staff, we had a swim up room which was one of the best rooms we have ever had. Food was good, we enjoyed the lunch in the restaurant by the beach, lots of lovely kebabs. The only negative thing was breakfast in the main restaurant was often quite cold or luke warm, I tried the baked beans one day and they were cold as was the bacon and scrambled eggs. Also there was not too many cocktails to choose from, we normally enjoy a Mojito which is fairly basic and it was not on the menu. Other than that it was perfect.
