Good three star hotel! Hotel is clean, staff is doing theirs job, beside the cook taking care of pool bar who is doing much more and is real heart of this place! There is good Wi-Fi in whole hotel, each room has a balcony, part of them with good sea view. Rooms are small but comfortable, bathrooms are even smaller but still acceptable. Rooms are cleaned daily. Pool is clean. Breakfasts are quite poor. During the day you can eat in pool bar which is better than it looks and serves similar food and quality as local tavernas in the same prices (only pizza seems to be defrosted)
Location is perfect! 200 meters to beach, shop and bus stop is across the street, there’s a lot of tavernas nearby.
We have chosen three star hotel and we were happy what we get what is not so obvious after year and a half of COVID.

We stayed for 2 weeks in June/July with our small baby. The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating, the rooms and the whole hotel were spotless - yes the rooms are basic but when they are spotless it is not too much of a problem!
The air con worked well and was free so a huge bonus. Breakfast was great, enough choice and a nice area to eat in.
We didn’t sit by the pool so can’t comment on this other than it looked well kept and clean.
The location of the hotel is really great - on the main road with lots of tavernas, bars and supermarkets within a 2 minute walk. The beach is also less than 5 minutes walk. Andreas beach is excellent value for lovely sun beds and cabanas/daybeds (€10/15) for two and parasol.
Would really recommend this hotel for a couple looking for a decent no frills hotel in a good location.

we visited Tigaki back in 2005, loved the place then, but we wanted to see other greek islands too, we have holidayed on most of them now over the years, we decided we would start revisiting our favorites, we decided on the Tropical sol, it looked a lovely typical greek charm hotel,
we are so glad we did, we arrived just before midnight after a short flight delay, we were greeted by a very nice but shy reception girl, very polite & explained everything we needed to know on arrival, we were shown to our room, the greek girl insisted on carrying some of our luggage so i let her have the lightest piece, lol
i had previously emailed the hotel & asked for a room overlooking the fields towards the sea, we dropped off to sleep immediately after a long day travelling & the comfy beds helped.
we woke early next morning, opened the curtains to just what id asked for, sea view overlooking the fields, with a few cows in too, lol
we finished unpacking, there's ample wardrobe space & hangers etc, lovely spotless clean bathroom, with all the modcons,
we walked down for breakfast, everything you could want, (remember your in greece so if the bacon or the beans are not to your liking, its not a bad quality thing, its just not what your used to), there's everything eggs all ways, thin greek bacon, beans (not heinz) lol, little sausages, loads of cold meats, cheeses, yogurt, fresh & dried fruits, you can make your own toasties, iced water, juices,(not fresh orange juice mind), coffee & tea & loads of warm danishes, & loads more.
everything is so so clean too, the pool area, outside eating area, & around the pool bar area,
OMG, did i mention Terri, amazing best ever barman & cook/chef, he was so so genuine, typically lovely warm hearted greek, he made our stay that bit of perfect to be fair, (thanks Terri). the fresh food he prepares throughout the day is amazing, huge portions & cooked so well, ( Terri is there from around 09:45 in the mornings, chopping his salads, prepping his boiled eggs etc etc, everything is so fresh. he really takes pride in everything he does, & he's a natural entertainer,
i think you can tell we had such an Amazing time, down the beach in the morning & back to the pool for time with terry around the pool in the early afternoons, we met some lovely people too, we ate at some amazing restaurants, really great quality & really good value for money at all types of budgets, we hired a quad ( something we will 100% do again )
anyway thanks to Maria & her family for our lovely visit to their hotel, ( u thing her brother is the actual owner) but Maria is the host, lovely lady & her daughters,
A big big thankyou to our Terri, he made our Holiday that much more perfect, thanks Terri, pete & deb,
we will 1000% be back to the tropical Sol Hotel, just what we want from a greek holiday, nothing is too much, trouble, you just have to ask Maria,

I can definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

+Air-conditioning worked very well even in July
+The rooms were very clean and cleaned on a daily basis
+The pool was clean and sunbeds were always available throughout the day.
+The staff was very friendly and made it feel as though we were at home
+The hotel was close to the shops, restaurants and the beach
+We stayed in a room with a roadside balcony and window. However, the windows and shutter blocked all noises from the street. Not that there was a lot of noise from the street overall.
+Breakfast included

We were very satisfied with our visit and would visit this hotel again. The only con we could think of was that there was barely any soundproofing from noises in the hallway. This wasn't a problem for us at all, since all guests were quiet during the night hours. We slept very well at this hotel.

Lovely clean hotel , staff are very friendly and accommodating, the food in the bar is super and value for money . The breakfast had enough choice to suite all family members , eggs , croissants , jams spreads fresh fruit and yogurt , cereal , breads and a toasty maker which we loved . Hot and cold drinks . The pool was nice plenty loungers . The rooms were a little small but the shower was fab and had enough room and water pressure good which can be a problem in Greece . Air conditioning was amazing . Would highly recommend the location is central to all restaurants, shops and beach .

Thank you Maria and staff for a super 2 week stay. We are regular visitors to Tigaki and have stayed at a few different locations, but this is the best

All staff are cheerful and helpful, the cleaning staff did an amazing job.

Tropical Sol has typically been mainly a German/Swiss holiday hotel, hence the breakfasts are of a continental style with plenty of variety

The beautiful beach is a 5/10 minute amble (you’re on holiday so what’s the rush?)

Drinks at the bar are really good, and not too pricey either. Nico is a good barman with plenty of conversation and laughs

All the necessary shops and restaurants are on your doorstep, and bars too...

Elderly need to be aware that there is no lift, so there are stairs to climb, but air conditioning and wi-fi is free and good!

Yes, we want to go back!

We had a great time at the Tropical Sol hotel in Kos. We travelled with three children (aged 8, 13 and 15).

The good:

1) Rooms were basic but clean
2) Rooms cleaned daily excluding Sundays, to a good standard
3) Rooms air conditioned. Not the strongest air con in the world but adequate during heatwave.
4) Great pool, with toddler pool and jacuzzi
5) No sunbed wars. Sunbeds available all day, nobody leaving towels out early or for hours when they weren’t there.
6) Good breakfast including toast, fruits, ham, cheese, rolls, pastries, scrambled egg, little sausages. Not masses but absolutely fine for us.
7) Perfect location. Directly opposite supermarket. On main strip of Tingaki, few mins walk to beach. Lots of tavernas and little shops on doorstep.
8) Good, reasonably priced, pool bar menu. Including omelettes, burgers, salads, pizza, pasta, coffees, soft and alcoholic drinks, gyros, toasties etc.
9) Friendly management and staff
10) Fridge in room

The less good:

1) we had two rooms (133 & 134), a double and a triple. The triple had 3 single beds in the room which did make it feel really cramped. The one with only 2 beds felt so spacious in comparison. Not a reason not to go, but just be aware that if you have 3 to a room then it is quite a crush. The bathrooms in the rooms are also super small.

All in all we had a really great time and would recommend. There is a free bus from Tingaki to the water park at 10.50am daily returning at 4.45pm (check board at water park as this may change). There are also regular buses to/from Kos town which is worth a visit.

Just come back from a lovely stay at the tropical sol. Lovely staff , especially the cleaning lady. One thing that irked me was the hogging of sun beds. There was an older couple that sprawled across array of the beds a made a nice little circle out of the beds an chairs, then there were a family/ friends of four that put towels on beds early in the morning and left, then the same family of three that every day put towels out before breakfast so they could make sure that no matter what they had the same spot near the shower. What a way to spend a holiday very sad and it spoils it for other guests.

This hotel is a little Gem. It made our hoiday. Situated very central in the Tigaki resort. The room were spotless and cleaned Monday to Saturday providing clean bedding and towels daily. Staff were friendly some more welcoming than others but we put this down to language barriers. Down at poolside they have a fabulous snack bar which we can't praise enough. (Complinents to the chef Terri). The pool was well maintained and no hogging of early bird sun beds, always plenty available. Maria the Owner/manager is a credit to the Greek hoteliers , she couldn't do enough for us. Air conditioning was free. There was a fridge in the room and a safe which was 30 euro for our stay. We will be back next year. We'll done Maria and team.

I’ve just finished a weeks stay here and I have absolutely nothing bad to say at all about Tropical Sol! I’ve been to Corfu and Crete before and I have to say, this has been my favourite hotel. Rooms are modern and well equipped and cleaned to a high standard daily. Breakfast has lots of options, hot and cold. The staff are wonderfully friendly, especially Terry in the pool bar and Niko in the main evening bar. Whilst it’s a fairly big hotel, it’s not overcrowded or noisey and you get a real mix of cultures and people to talk to. Lots of families and couples and a few solo travellers too! The shutters in front of the balcony door keep out external noise and heat brilliantly and the aircon is free and powerful! Room tax is €1.50 per night.

The hotel is also in a fantastic location on the strip (supermarket opposite, lots of tavernas a minute away and the beach just 5 minutes away), but again isn’t a noisey crazy party place. Lots of sunbeds by the pool and fantastic food from the snack bar. I’ve had a wonderful time meeting people and relaxing and I’d love to come back!
