We had a really enjoyable stay Russ & Elaine were superb hosts. They both took their to tell us about the local sights. Russ very kindly collected us from the station. Haus Anastasia is a nice clean well located place to explore Bad Ischl. It's connected to Bad Iscl by a short very scenic walk.
I would totally recommend Elaine & Russ's place, we never felt at home at their house. We were welcomed warmly, picked up from the train station and shown around the town. We received lots of useful information and tips for restaurants and things to do from the hosts. The room itself is better than a 5-star hotel - further than having everything needed, it is super cozy, quiet, and spacious, not to miss - sparkling clean and tidy! We look forward to our next stay at Anastasia house!
Wow this was home from home. Elaine and Russ were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We had the ground floor apartment with an amazing beautiful bathroom, lounge and bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed. The decor was lovely. To walk to the place was uphill but we soon got used to it and enjoyed the walk. A great coffee machine was in the room that was kept stocked with coffee pods, milk etc. The only item missing was a small fridge to keep drinks and and food cool. Highly recommended and many thanks to Russ and Elaine. Hope your business goes from strength to strength
Haus Anastasia is one of those places that might not look like much initially but turned out to be one of our favourite places for the trip. 1) Location Haus Anastasia is located around a leisurely 15 minutes walk to town. The hosts would gladly tell you which route to take to reach town. The roads can be a little narrow to drive so if you don't mind walking to town, walk. It is a convenient base to nearby places such as Hallstat and many lakes. 2) Apartment No footwear permitted within the apartment but we are perfectly fine with this because it just means that the hosts really value cleanliness, and that's what we got! Aside from the host's own living space, there are three apartments housed within the same compound. Despite that, the apartment we were in was spacious and had everything we needed. For the tall ones, do take note not to bump into the ceiling when walking up the stairs. There was a living room which was equipped with a TV and a shelf outside the apartment full of DVDs. There were also guides on what you could do as well as a thoughtfully curated list of restaurants that the hosts recommended. We in fact bumped into the hosts at a restaurant which was recommended in the list. The kitchen was fully equipped and you had everything you needed to prepare a meal. The beds were a total luxury. It was the first time during our trip that everything about the bed was right- for once, we had proper beds and pillows which were neither too hard nor too soft. We woke up feeling well-rested. 3) Toilet The toilet was warm (something that was not a given in all the places that we have been to) and provided bathing products. 4) Hosts The hosts, Elaine and Russ, were hospitable and were ready to make recommendations if you required any. An enjoyable stay - it offers the comfort of your own home!…
We just wanted to take this opportunity to say 'Thank You' so very much to Elaine & Russ for letting us stay in their wonderful apartment. Their local knowledge and assistance was outstanding, the apartment was beautiful (waking up to the sounds of woodpeckers, views of the mountains & brown deer wandering around the forest area was amazing). Bad Ischl itself is a fabulous SpaTown, a perfect location for exploring the Salzkammergut area (a great base for visiting the region's main lakes), great restaurants, stylish shops and an outstanding cafe (Konditorei Zauner) selling the most fantastic classic Austrian cakes (which we frequented most days). Our holiday was perfect and we will definitely return. Many thanks & kindest regards.
