My stay was fantastic from the second I walked thro the gates. The staff were helpful and friendly. I had a real bed in my tent. Bathrooms and toilets, clean and adequate. Food was excellent. Transport to the centre available. I stayed during the Taragalte Festival and it was out of this world, so well organised. People from all over the world so happy, the organizers and staff working so hard to keep everyone happy. I loved this camp so much, the ambience, the atmosphere, I felt so safe within this camp nestled in the dunes in the Sahara. Will I go back??? Yes I will.

Vsem vrele doporucuji!!!! Dekujeme ❤️❤️❤️ It was one of the best experience in my life. Everything was more than OK. They picked up us on the bus station, gave us a room for some rest. The food was absolutely amazing. They made for us also vegan option. Camp in the desert is super cozy and the staff is soo kind and helpful!!! It was quite windy and cloudy but we were super satisfied at all. Great service, awesome people, unbelievable atmosphere. We felt like home! THANK YOU!!! ❤️ Sara & Andrea

We were a large group of family and friends and had the most wonderful time at the Bivouac. The location itself among the dunes is beautiful, and the music, food and comfort (including hot water) made it a truly magical experience.

We started in Marrakech for a 4 day desert excursion. Our guide, Abdul was excellent, driving us south through the Atlas mountains stopping at many wonderful picturesque view points, interesting cultural experiences (Arghan oil production, the former Pacha's kasbah, Ait Ben Haddou) and terrific restaurants for lunch. The night of our second day we arrived at the Bivouac on a camel ride during one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. That night we sat around a bonfire watching the stars come out. The following day we drove further into the sahara to the err chigaga dunes, which are massive and from which who see the sahara stretch out endlessly to the horizon. Its an incredible experience and a must see while in Morocco. We returned to the bivouac that night for another great dinner and evening of music we'll never forget. Not only was our guide Abdul excellent but all of the staff at the bivouac were so welcoming and pleasant. Each night they set up a telescope from which we could see Jupiter, Saturn and Venus. * We were there in February so were nervous about the night time temperatures, but each couple stays in their own tent in a large bed with lots of blankets. We had sleeping bags too and wound up being really warm all night.

We stayed at the Bivouac for two days and it was a great expirience! It is not fare from M'Hamid but you feel fare away. We arrived in the late afternoon and went straight out into the large dunes in front of the camp, and here we watched the sun set, the sky turn red and the mountains in the distance turn deep blue. Our host were very helpfull and their staff took good care of us. The camp is very authentic, like visiting a beduin family. And it is made with a great eye for the details. It is simple living, the tents are cosy (and yes, there are toilets :)) We ate nice food at a carpetcovered terrasse with the view to the high dunes, and the camelride was fun. A piece of advice: bring enough cash - there are no ATM south of Zagora.

One really peaceful oasis, M'Hamid. Although the village needs some tweaking to my 'Western' perception of clean, the entire area feels very rural and real. I have spent 10 days at the bivouac, spending my early mornings on the dunes exploring or simply enjoying the natural sounds, During the day I participated in activities. Sometimes at night there is a music performance or campfire. It's an amazing place for stargazing! This place made me become very zen-like, a my-kind-of-town feeling. It seems to be a great place for meditation and yoga (not-my-cup-of-tea) or learn about the authentic nomad culture. The bivouac is a place with honest intentions; they support the local community and work on eco projects - buy a tree - to sustain the village and protects it from desertification. Ask them about it and they are happy to show you how it all works. The employees speak Arabic, some french. Very few are proficient in English, but drawing something or use hand gestures do help. Small tips: Be careful of fine sand (equipment). Ask around what you can do, there is plenty. Help out and feel good (you have become a part of their community). Water is scarce, so use it wisely. Ask for drink water if you want to be provided. This could be excluded in the price (not sure). Try visiting the Taragalte Festival. I missed it, but heard great things about it. Stock snacks and goodies if you can, it is long walk to the village! If you are fed up traveling with a read book, leave it behind at the bivouac and be part of book sharing. Make someone else happy! If you search a place where you want true value for you money, I highly recommend it. I have lots of truly memorable experiences of this place. It's a little secret place that I am willing to share to those who know how to appreciate these unique gems. Enjoy and happy travels!

Highly reccomended. The views of the dunes are stunning. You can climb up the big ones and watch the sun set and look down on the camp, a circle of traditional nomad tents. The mattress on the ground in the tent is plenty comfortable, and you feel like a desert sultan sleeping in the tent surronded by a floor of colorful carpets. The best part was getting to have long coversations with Lahcen, a smiling, gracious young man who led us out to the camp in the late afternoon and answered all our questions. You don't feel like a tourtist in a hotel, but a guest of Lahcen's. He had tea with us on a breezy night sitting out under the stars. He told us about his life and had questions about our lives in the Massachusetts. There's a friendly camp cat, Beecee, who took to us and curled up on my stomach as we layed out under the stars after dinner and chatted with Lahcen. The owner's of the camp should give a Lahcen a big raise because he made the night we stayed here one of the highlights of our Morocco trip. We went out by dromedary. (Don't call it a camel. Ha ha.) I had some reservations about that, thinking it might be too touristy and campy. But it's not at all like those places in Marrakech where they lead you around in a circle on a dromedary with no purpose. The ride out took about an hour and a half and you get a good view of the village you pass through on the way from the high perch astride a dromedary. I highly reccomend Le Petit Prince Bivouac. Thank you, Lahcen, for everything!

I made a trip to the Petit Prince Bivouac last year during their Taragalte festival. I just saw on their website that it will be this year on 9,10 and 11 of November so I thought I just write something about my experience of last year. The festival is a 3 day Nomadic festival celebrating the Moussem, the traditional festival during the old days of the Caravan trade. The 3 days were packed with music, poetry, dancing, and delicous food. During the day we made a trip to the oasis, had lunch with serveral families and learned a lot about the fragile ecosystem in the desert. The next day there was a big surprise waiting for us in the morning. Around 70 camels! ready to take us for a trip into the dunes. I also bought some wonderful textiles made by the woman and flowers made out to recycled bags. The woman presented their work in a big nomadic tent with lots of very bright colors. Last year there were only around a 150 tourist so this made it even more special combined with around a 1200 local guests. All the sounds, colors and smells transported me to a diffent world. A poetic and spiritual experience! I can recommend the bivouac and the festival highly to everyone. The staff is super friendly and very competent to deal with the local environment. They worked non stop to make everybody happy and still had time for a friendly chat and a cup of tea. I know the staff comes specifically from the neighbouring small villages so that the local community is also benefiting from the festival. I think this is very good and important for the region.
