Usually my partner will only let me book 5 star hotels but I was keen to add in one home stay or rustic stay during our 13 nights in Sri Lanka, and the only 5 * option was booked for 2 of our 4 planned nights here. I chose Habarana due to its proximity to Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla caves, Polonnaruwa... More

The hosts are just amazing! Jay help us with all the tours, buses and made great food. Chris was only there one night but gave us great tips for the rest of our trip. He knows Sri Lanka and has nice spots and friends all over the country. Sleeping in a tree house is an adventure. It's very quiet and... More

You don't visit for the comfort. You visit to meet the host Brian and to get the most authentic experience you could imagine. The tree houses are very simple, but Brian is truely an amazing host who can tell you everything about the area and available activities. The food is amazing and to be honest, it feels more like you... More

Brian was welcoming and helpful to me during my stay. The accomodation is basic- don't expect luxury, but it was clean charming and comfortable. I had a great sleep, hearing only the sounds of the jungle. The good was generous and tasty. Brian was sweet, and felt like he needed to look after me as I was traveling alone though... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and had dinner on both. The food was fantastic, both dinner and breakfast, with Brian going out of his way to make roti and onion dips for breakfast. Brian and his brother in law were a font of knowledge on the locality, wildlife, history etc. The pair of joined cottages were well away from... More

It was our first two nights in Sri Lanka. We booked a room by internet, as we travelled directly from Colombo airport by train during the night.
