In the three years since I last visited Villa Mimosa, I realized why we had fallen in love with the place originally: it is a paradise for nature lovers, and, indeed botanists. The location is remarkable: a short drive to either the Greek Temples or the magnificent beaches and nature park at Marinella di Selinunte, and last but not least...

I have been lucky enough to visit Jackie and Villa Mimosa over the last fifteen years, but have never done so in the winter. The delightful rustic charm of the villa and its surrounding gardens and olive groves was as enchanting as ever and we were cosy and had lots of sunshine too! The oranges were heavy on the trees...

the title reflects the character of the place....like an ancient secret garden! Beautiful setting on this working olive farm. the breakfast table outdoors was surrounded by jasmine and citrus in full bloom in May. The hostess, Jackie, brought fresh pastries and Castelvetrano brown bread (a protected local delicacy by SlowFood) every morning. She also joined us one evening for a...

Quirky, comfortable rooms with small, well stocked kitchenette. Set in a charming garden amidst olive groves, perfectly positioned for visiting Selinunte and the beaches around Marinella

We recently spent a week here and loved every minute of it. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was also well equipped with all the basics, should we have wanted to cook. The house is in a delightful setting with olive trees and orange trees and it was wonderful to sit in the secret garden...

A lovely base to explore this beautiful region of Sicily; we were able to immerse ourselves in the drammatic history of Selinunte, enjoy local restaurants recommended by Jackie and adjust to the slow pace and the quiet of the region which was still quite warm in late October. Jackie is a lovely host, so many nice touches to enjoy and...

I had the most amazing 2 weeks at Villa Mimosa. Beautiful villa, beautifully decorated rooms with traditional Sicilian decor. Jackie is an amazing host, warm and welcoming you could not ask for more. Breakfast every morning with delicious breads & pastries, all locally sourced. Off the beaten track, but you see the real Sicily, and still not too far from...

Absolutely beautiful gardens, with a lovely veranda to sit and enjoy the scenery on warm sicilian evenings. The apartment was quaint with everthing you need, there was fresh fruit in the bowl and we had fresh pastries every morning which was a lovely treat :-) Selinunte is short car drive (approx 5-10mins) which has a stunning beach in a nature...

We had the warmest welcome from Jackie on arriving at Villa Mimosa on a gorgeous sunny day. Our suite, Demeter (twin bedded) was filled with the biggest bouquet of flowers and a huge bowl of fresh fruit - the fridge and cupboards were well stocked with the basics and by our beds beautiful posies which I assume were cuttings that...
