I booked out of nostalgia having been here with my family about 50 years ago - sadly it doesn't seem to have moved on from those days. My booking confirmation promised a double bed and free wi-fi. My room had neither. Single bed not a big problem except that it was incredibly uncomfortable - mattress no doubt very old and...

Comfortable bed , good sized room, but very shabby, tired place; everything seems to date from late 70s . WC with carpeted floor ! was outside the room and tiny shower cubicle in a recess in the room. Why won't someone invest in this place? Breakfast was either the ubiquitous 'Full English", or "continental" - photo attached of a continental...

The George is part of Crewkerne's heritage and it was great to sit outside in the courtyard watching the world go by. It's just in the process of changing hands and we'd like to thank the current owner for his find at the helm and wish the new owners every success for the future.

Staff seemed friendly however that's about as good as it got. I reserved a double room for single occupancy. I got a single room, the en suite was described as updated, I can only conclude that this was done some time around 1990 judging by the decor and mouldy corners. Now for £50 quid a night I could live with...

Me and the girlfriend came for a bank holiday weekend, lovely village and a lot of character to the building! We had a room with a 4 poster bed with en suite and it's was lovely when you walk in. The bathroom looks like something from a care home and the TV is about 17 inches and struggled to get...

This is an old pub and has character and we were warmly welcomed. I cannot fault the staff. It is right in the main street so great if you want to look around the town. However, there is no parking but there are a couple of large supermarkets behind where cars can be left. The rooms are adequate and clean...

We had a lovely night at The George - the room was comfortable, quiet and spacious, the staff friendly, and the chef very accommodating. It's a quaint, old kind of place, with a lot of history, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great position for shopping, too!

The exterior of the George is beautiful on arrival (parking is Best in car park behind the hotel near Waitrose & Lidle) we were shown to our bedroom which was over the courtyard. A basic room with clean crisp cotton covers & a very comfortable. Breakfast was full English or continental, tasty & nothing was too much trouble. Central location...

I stayed here for one night on business. The room was quaint with a four-poster bed. The bar was sociable, the guinness was excellent, the service friendly. The breakfast in the morning was great and the price for the whole stay was very reasonable. Being a 16th Century Inn, the corridors are up and down and twisty, so maneuvering a...

Let's start with the good. The staff were lovely, but they all seemed tired and like they would rather be somewhere else. The breakfast was really rather good. The service and selection of food were pretty impressive and far better than I was expecting. Now the not so good... I was in a massive rush when I checked in and...
