We stayed for three weeks from 17 Oct to 06th November 2009 the rooms were loverly could not wish for better, kept very clean and smart, the setting ,you could wish for no more, and staff always smiling, chearful and helpfull. All inclusive food was limited, better when there was more guests, but at times down to 20 guests and food dipped in...

In summary, if you want a relaxing time by a pool with great food, this is for you, it is high class, amazingly welcoming and a great hotel. If you’d like to break your pool time with the beach, in the sea or need other activities, probably not for you. The downsides: • The big issue is, you cannot swim...

We just returned home from a four-night stay at this wonderful property. It was the perfect start to our Africa vacation– relaxing, beautiful, with wonderful service. Our spacious, well-appointed suite with outside deck had a great ocean view and only steps from the adult pool and beach. Although there were many families at the resort, we rarely saw children, as...

We just got back from a lovely three days at the Fairmont Zanzibar. The staff was always very helpful and friendly, and the buffet style meals were varied and good - typical african fare but with a delicious twist. Lobster tails and grilled shrimp were a highlight one night, as was a private dinner with local spices and flavors. The...

I was browsing the Internet thoroughly before choosing this hotel, and though that by choosing a well known name like Fairmont, I would get better treatment, unfortunately my choice wasn't good, the service was so bad and the waiters spook very poor English, the first night I arrived we went to the restaurant and they gave us very limited menu...

After 9 days on safari, my wife and I came to the Fairmont for some R&R before returning stateside. Maybe it's just the fact that the global economic slowdown has massively decreased the number of guests (there were maybe 12 groups with us while we were there), but I disagree with those who took issue with the service--everyone was both...

Everything was "fair" (mediocre) except the prices!!! Basically overpriced for the experience compared with other hotels we visited in the same area. Fairmont nickel and dimed us. Alcoholic drinks were not included compared with the other hotels and the drink prices were inflated. Fairmont lunch choices were a bit limited and the food was not so great. The room itself...

The place creates mixed feelings. Our room (deluxe seeview) had a good size and a quiet location though close to swimming pool and restaurants. When booking, one should be aware that the rooms differ a lot in size and location; some are quite far from the beach and very small, with obstructed view. The room is finely decorated; no luxury,...
