We stayed at these apartments as an alternative to Crete, that was because Crete was removed from the safe to go list. Mainland Greece was still ok to go without quarantine on return, the apartments were just what we wanted nice and clean, we were on the ground floor and it had a terrace at the back which was quite big and private, the entrance door at the front was just yards from the swimming pool. The position of the apartments were quite handy just a ten minute stroll to the beach where all the restaurants are and if you go the other way from the apartments you come to a main road where you have a choice of two supermarkets, these have everything you need. I would recommend these apartments and hopefully we will return.

I stayed in one of the studio apartments located on the second floor and the room is lovely and spacious and has everything you need for a holiday. Big wardrobe and kitchen (which has a two ring hob and a little oven, fridge, kettle, toaster and a coffee maker) as well as enough cutlery. The beds were comfortable enough and the room had air conditioning. In the bathroom they also provided little bottles of shower gel and shampoo, as well as dental kits which was a nice touch. Highlight of this hotel has to be the pool area. The pool area has sunbeds and umbrellas and there is also an on site bar as well. Short walk into the main village of stoupa if you go one way or even closer to Kalogria.

Stoupa is a beautiful little resort. The Aphrodite is a nicely situated and well appointed small apart hotel. It is situated about 500m from the seafront and 100m from a not very busy main road, so it is pretty quiet, but not overly far from the beautiful bay, where there are a good number of decent restaurants and bars, which are all very relaxed, there are not any rowdy bars or nightclubs there at all. The Aphrodite is also very relaxed. There are great views of the mountains and surrounding countryside from there and it immediately overlooks an olive grove. With only ten apartments, the hotel is never crowded, often there are only one or two people in or near the pool.
The Aphrodite is beautifully clean, the staff change the bed linen and towels
and give the apartments a thorough once over every two days.
Best of all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and make you feel really at home, I would really have loved to stay much longer than a fortnight. (Stayed from 22/06/14 - 06/07/14)

Here on my Little Private Greek Terrace with a coffee, watching the rippling pool, all there is to hear is birdsong. We are situated within an olive grove. In three strides I could be in the dark blue pool, which is kept scrupulously clean. There are sun beds around it and nobody here has been creeping out at dawn to reserve them or any of that nonsense. The other guests are a mixture of nationalities and for the most part quiet and respectful of one another's space. (We are intentionally outside of school holiday time.) It has been totally relaxing and peaceful.

Our room is big, with a kitchen area and bathroom with shower. Shower gel is provided and there is always lots of piping hot water.

There is wifi and a reception area with sofas, games and books to borrow.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for turning out a meal. We've managed chicken baked with giant lemons and Kalamata olives, lamb chops with beans in tomato sauce as well as plenty of meze, consumed with retsina and stars on the terrace. There are two supermarkets each within a five minute walk as well as a bakery. The beaches and restaurants of Stoupa and Kalogria are also within a ten minute stroll, down paths that wind past gardens and more olive trees. They are very dark at night time but feel perfectly safe.

Kalogria and Stoupa both have lovely beaches and clear, turquoise if chilly water. You can wander down to either and have a coffee on one of the sunbeds, with no hire charge at this time of year. We have rented bikes and cycled the coastal path to Agios Nikolaos, stopping off at the diving platforms for a swim. We have taken a taxi up to Kardymili to see the old, deserted village. We have been on walks, a boat trip and had lovely lunches and dinners out at the many tavernas. All are good value and have great food.

But I have to admit we have mainly been lying around this pool reading copious books and dipping in and out.

We have a bar which serves hot and cold drinks (the cold chocolate is delicious) as well as snacks. Happy Hour provides a G&T for €3.50, to be sipped nibbling on a bowl of crisps at one of the tables that catches the last rays of the sun.

Or you can have a sundowner on your terrace or balcony, some of which face the back and the mountains, some the pool. Our room in number 5 and is on the corner so has a view of both. The upper floors can see the sea.

The service, mainly by a young lady called Demetra, is excellent. She is always here to make a drink, answer a question, keep an eye on the pool, order a taxi, clean the room, change the beds and towels or have a chat with a lone traveller if they want it. She keeps a subtle eye on everyone and makes sure that you are either out, or at the pool when she comes to do the rooms. There is no question of a loud, obtrusive knock on the door if you're having a lie in.

In the afternoons she comes around the pool with iced water and a little plate of cake.
One night she came over with some candles as she saw we were struggling with our own. My husband asked her father where his barber was, as he has let himself go and needs a haircut. Five minutes later Demetra came to tell us she'd made an appointment for him. That's 5* service and what elevates this experience from perfectly pleasant to exceptional.

We have friends with a house here and they are always on the look out for places to recommend to visitors. They too, were very impressed. The price is reasonable so we feel like we are experiencing incredibly good value for what we paid. Therefore the Aphrodite is recommended with complete confidence because of the standard of accommodation, the beautiful swimming pool (often like having your own private one) and the efficient and friendly service from Demetra and her family.

Loved this hotel, set in a olive grove very small and personal 10 rooms and a beautiful blue tiled pool. We stopped in room No1 which was on the ground floor it was huge and spotless, tastefully decorated plenty of storage/drawers for your clothes the Aircon was €7 per night and was needed the safe is free. It's a 10 min walk into town both beaches are also 10 mins walk away. We found the beaches to be over crowded so stayed around the tranquil pool the only noise we ever heard was the turning of a page. The pool area is quite small but enough room for all guests but most days there was a max of 8 there. A small snack bar which sold drinks and snacks was available.

10 min walk is the local supermarket Katrinas is great store it as lots of artisan local produce in the middle and all your other needs are catered for but we found eating out was cheaper then the supermarket. We only bought fruit and water from here. There is also a brilliant bakery just 200 yards from Katrinas on the same side of the road the pastrys and baklava are wonderful always fresh and very good price we went daily for breakfast.

One tip is to only buy 2 bottles of water then refill them with free spring water daily there is a tap at the end of the lane towards the main road turn left and it's over the road.

We would return to this hotel at the drop of a hat, Stoupa is proper Greece you will not disappointed if you book this place, wish I was still there now.

We were more than impressed with this excellent, modern, clean apartment number 5 on the ground floor of Aphrodite Hotel. Dimitra, the Hotel Manager could not have been more efficient and welcoming,

We have been to many self catering apartments in Greek Islands but this has been the best so far. It was quiet, only 4/5 mins from seafront with excellent restaurants/bars/shops..............try the Restaurant Yesterday & Today......wonderful sunset views, service & best of all food! The pool at Aphrodite was clean and perfectly situated outside our room with plenty of sunbeds. The modern Ekaterina Supermarket minuets down the road sold everything you could possible want.

Also excellent for bike rides with good bike hire.

I had only one complaint that Thomas Cook did not inform us when our flight pick up & time would be they expected us to go on line, email etc but I have to point out that the signal in this hotel for wi fi was poor and I had no signal at all for my mobile . We had to go to the office in the town to find out our times home!! The rep never once came to the Hotel, luckily the Hotel Manger looked after us!

Oh my goodness how I LOVED this holiday!! My partner and I returned from Stoupa in July and have already booked up to go again in September - it's a paradise.
This year was our first stay in Hotel Aphrodite, but it certainly won't be our last!! What a place, nestled in the olive groves behind the main road which houses both supermarkets (no noise though), this little gem is wonderful in so many ways, here's my list:-
1) Size - it only has 10 rooms!! Which was fantastic because the pool was never crowded, and noise levels were never high, and serenity ruled all round!!
2) Pool - no need to pack a bag to walk from your room to the pool for a relaxing dip - simply pop out of your front door directly onto the poolside paving!! It was almost like staying in your own private villa. And a perfect sized pool at that, lovely temperature, clean, and superbly located - the views are unbelievable of the surrounding mountains.
3) Rooms - Great size! well laid out with plenty of space and all utilities incorporated - kitchen area (Loads of equipment), dressing table, dining table, flatscreen tv, air con, wardrobes, bedside tables, lamps etc... The bathroom was very modern too, with a great little automatic hairdryer attached to the wall.
4) Pool Bar - Fancy a cocktail? Kelly and Dimitria are on hand to feed and water you at the gorgeous little bar area right next to the pool, you could order a cocktail whilst in the water and have it on your sunbed table by the time you've lifted yourself out of the water! Along with little nibbles too, peanuts and crisps.
5) Kelly and Dimitria - I should have mentioned these lovely ladies first - Aphrodite wouldn't have the same magic if it wasn't for the charm and care of Kelly (British) and Dimitria (Greek). What a team, nothing was too much trouble, they were relaxed, friendly, chatty, smiley, just perfect!! Thank you for making our holiday so special.

We had a lovely week at Hotel Aphrodite during July 2015.

From the moment we arrived at the Hotel to be greeted so warmly and personably by Dimitria and Kelly we knew we had made the right choice.

The rooms were kept spotlessly clean and attended to every day, if even just to empty the bins, the bedding was lovely and white, as were the towels which were soft and fluffy.

The rooms were of a very generous size, we stayed in a 1 bedroomed apartment on the ground floor (room 3). As you enter through the front door you come straight in to the main room, there was a large sofa bed, a twin bed, flat screen tv and air conditioning and a large dining table and chairs. Great facilities in the kitchen, fridge, mini oven, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and lots of crockery and utensils.

The bathroom was of a reasonable size, with a shower curtain and tray for the shower, plenty of hot water with good pressure, unit to keep essentials in and a hairdryer.

The bedroom had a large double bed, bed-side drawers, large wardrobe contained plenty of hanging space, deep drawers and a safe and a dressing table with stool and large mirror, plenty of plug sockets. There was also an air conditioning unit in the bedroom and we were provided (chargeable) two remote controls so that we could control the temperature separately in the lounge and bedroom.

Off the bedroom was a terrace with table and chairs and an airer with pegs provided. This had a view of the small garden on the back, we enjoyed sitting out here for lunch some days.

The pool area is lovely and clean and the views are stunning, it was very quiet and a perfect place to relax, often we were the only people there until people returned from their day at the beach. There is a nice bar area which serves cold, hot drinks and snacks, and we had breakfast a few days, everything we ate was delicious and very reasonably priced.

We thought we had struck gold with the property but the icing on the cake for us was the warmth and service from Kelly and Dimitria. Hand on heart Kelly is one of the loveliest, most genuine people we have ever met, nothing was too much trouble and she always had time for a chat without being intrusive and genuinely cared that you were well looked after. Kelly works so hard and never stops, she really is an asset to this place! Dimitiria is a lovely lady who also cares greatly about her guests, often bringing round fresh fruit and cold water to keep us dehydrated and she bakes great cakes!

There is a reception area with plenty of seating and a large flat screen tv, and free wifi available in the bedrooms and public areas, this could be temperamental at times, but not a problem.

The apartments are situated within a ten minute steady walk to the town, and 4 minutes to the large Katerina's supermarket, which stocked everything and was reasonably priced. We visited Kalogria beach which also took approximately ten minutes.

To get to town I would suggest you turn right out of the Aphrodite up to the top of the road, turn right, pass Katerina's supermarket and take the first right so you are going down the side of Katerina's, this will then bring you down to the bay. You could also take a left out of Aphrodite which took about the same time but meant passing through small parts that were not well lit.

We had a great time at Hotel Aphrodite and have no issues with highly recommending it to others, should we return to Stoupa we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Well done Dimitria and Kelly and thank you again for looking after us so well.

This small hotel with a pool is only a short walk from the beaches but set in a quiet rural area. We rented an apartment for the week and found Dimitra very helpful. She seemed to run the place single handed!
We were self catering and it is only a 4 minute walk to an excellent supermarket.
Will definitely return.

It was my 1st visit it Stoupa but my boyfriends 5th time. Both first time at the Aphrodite.

The Aphrodite did not let us down. It was so beautiful, the apartments are the perfect size, we stayed in room 1 with our own terrace it was lovely!!

The staff are so nice! The rooms spotless!

The pool is 100% the best thing!! most of the holiday we were alone there, totally peaceful sunbathing looking out onto the beautiful mountains!

10 minutes walk from the beach and resurants etc.

Would 100% recommend the Aphrodite to young and old!!!!

I did not find one in the room we stayed, so my guess would be no. However, please note that this is a family operated business, with controlled room access and a high feeling of safety and I am sure that Dimitra, the nice young lady running the place would definitely find a solution for this.
