Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Such a wonderful, relaxing place. Very clean and well maintained, the rooms are comfy and spacious with ensuite bathroom. Hearty breakfast supplied and delicious, generous evening meals are well worth the extra charge. the hosts are very attentive and happy to give advise on places to see and things to do. Very happy to recommend La Lune Lake B&B.

Perfect stopover en route from Calais to La Palmyre. Gary and Jo great hosts offering an evening meal with wine for little money. Food was delicious and breakfast included in the room rate. Comfortable nights stay in a very spacious room. Found guest house on trip advisor recommendation when researching where to stop for a half way destination stopover. Would highly recommend.

A very un presupposing look from the main road hides a real gem when once through the gates. The rooms are clean, tidy and very comfortable and the food served, by the English owners, puts most French B&B owners to shame. A two-course meal, to restaurant standard, with as much wine as one could want and a cafetière of coffee was the princely sum of e20 plus there was a fridge full of beer available if one simply wanted to help oneself. The grounds are extensive and dominated by a large lake, complete with Muscovy ducks, there’s an above-ground swimming pool, a tad too cold for me in early June, plus ample outdoor seating both near the house and around the pool. All in all a splendid spot to stay.

Having stayed at La Lune a couple of times over the years as a couple, we decided to return this time with our 2 & 5 year olds. We have just had the best 3 nights! Gary & Jo are so welcoming and friendly - and the meals cooked by Jo are just delicious! We all enjoyed a few hours fishing in the lake, which is such a tranquil place to sit. My 5 year old said it was the best house ever and didn't want to leave. I cannot fault this place in any way, and will definitely be looking to return. Thanks!

We have stayed for over night stops en route to beach holidays over many years and have loved it so decided to stay for 3 nights. Gary and Jo are the best hosts, They welcome you to their home, and treat you like family. It’s a beautiful setting and comfy bedrooms. So much better than a chain hotel. The lake is stunning, the pool is so refreshing and Jo’s cooking is brilliant. The breakfast is great and if you opt for the evening meal it’s such good value, including drinks, Our kids are a bit fussy but nothing is too much trouble at all. We will definitely be coming again. Thank you to Gary and Jo for a fab 3 days 🥰 Le Mans was a lovely city with easy tram links and great shopping and nearby Sille plage was a good day out too.

During a house hunting trip to the Charente area, we booked overnight stays on the outbound and inbound journeys. We are so glad we stayed here. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished. The grounds immaculate with a dog exercising garden which our dog Bonnie loved and Gary and Jo were the perfect hosts. We opted for an evening meal which was lovely and served with wine. These were unusual times for choosing a break but with the Brexit click ticking time to buy and complete on property was running out. But the measures to adhere to the covid rules were very clear to see. Everything was absolutely pristine! Thank you both for an enjoyable stay and hope to see you again very soon. Jacquie and Ashley.

Our third year in a row and our fifth and sixth visits to La Lune. From the moment we arrive we feel at home, Gary and Jo go out of their way to make us feel comfortable and provide anything we need. Our three children love the garden and splashing about in the pool. Jo’s cooking is exceptional and we all leave feeling well fed and rested. Thanks Gary and Jo and see you next year!

We stayed at La Lune on our way South, to break up the journey, and wished we'd been able to stay for a little longer. Gary and Jo are so welcoming and friendly, and the food was home cooked, delicious and plentiful. The free beer and wine was a very welcome bonus! Gary was more than happy to help us do a little fishing in the charming lake, and had the weather been better we definitely would have taken advantage of the outdoor pool. As it was I sat on the veranda (protected from the rain) with a nice glass of red watching the kids and husband fish (or fail to catch any in my husband's case)! The beds were comfortable, and the room was perfect for our family, even offering my tween daughter a little privacy in a little adjoining side room with a single bed. The whole place is geared towards comfort - its really a very tranquil, lovely spot for a stop over, and we will definitely be visiting again.

A returning visit to La Lune, Gary & Jo are excellent hosts. Perfect for us Bikers, with use of the garage. Food is amazing & hospitality second to none. The property is very well kept, the lake peaceful and enjoyable with its fishing. Will make this an annual visit as too good to miss.
