Sadly we went to book the hotel, as the management Marteen and Yvon have moved on to new premises, and the landlord has decided not to continue as a hotel for 2016 ski season. Had some great times and hopefully once they are settled we will get to hear about their new venture

Good hotel with space and some pretty personal touches. Great location for the lift, overlooks the church bells of the town its really lovely. Friendly staff and owner, flexible accommodating our vegetarian requirements. We will definitely go back again and I do recommend it.

We have stayed several times over the last 5 years and would gladly return. The hotel is located in the middle of Morgins, just across from the church. It is a few steps from the chairlift which runs up to 1,800 meters from where there are spectacular views and a fabulous network of hiking and biking trails in the summer....

Stayed here for the second time in 3 years, and still as friendly and accessible as ever. The rooms are good, the food is great and the service was friendly, with nothing too much trouble. The place to stay if you are here for skiing as you can access both ski areas very easily, and with a good fall of...

I have just come back from a 5 night stay at La Reine des Alpes with my boyfriend and his brother. The hotel's current owners have only been there for 7 months and although no previous experience of hotel ownership they were absolutely wonderful. Yvonne made a real effort to make us feel as welcome as possible. On the first...

We spent three nights at the hotel for a ski break. The room was clean tidy and had everything you would require. Breakfast was great with the usual cereals, bread, croissants, fruit, meat and ham offered in Switzerland, buffet style so you could fill up for a day on the slopes. The staff were extremely welcoming and warm. We ate...

My husband & I together with his parents drove to Switzerland from England so we were looking foward to the hotel after the travelling. The hotel it'self is well located with great views and the rooms were spacious and well equipped. This is why our initial welcoming to the hotel and later experiences were such a shame. The man that...

We chose this hotel after reading all the positive reviews on trip adviser and we were pleased with our choice. We had a twin room with an extra bed put in to make a triple. Even with the extra bed there was plenty of room and plenty storge space. The room was very clean and we had a balcony. All...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Pension de Morgins was established in 1880 by the Defago family and taken over by George and Juliette Monay in 1955. In 2012, it was acquired by the current owners, Heleen and Jan de Graaf. Jan has been a Morgins resident since attending Alpin College in 1972 and later choosing to be domiciled in Morgins. Until spring 2015, the establishment was run by tenants. Last summer and autumn, extensive renovations were carried out and the concept was changed entirely. The first thing to change was the name. From 2001 to spring 2015, the hotel was known as La Reine des Alpes. Its new name is “Chez Jan | La Pension de Morgins”. The formula has been changed to luxury Bed & Breakfast. The entire ground floor has been remodelled into an inviting sitting room with high and low seating. A large fireplace has been built in, and the entire building has been refurbished in chalet style by Jacques Multone (and company). The rooms have been upgraded with new curtains, linen, furniture, fresh tea and Nespresso machines. A significant change is that the grounds are now open to hotel guests only. We want guests to feel at HOME at Chez Jan. In the mornings, Kirsten serves a very comprehensive breakfast. She also bakes tarts, which are served as a sweet treat during the day. In the afternoons and evenings, your host Sam prepares drinks for guests and serves light snacks. We are also busy with plans for a wellness centre, which we hope to complete in 2016 – 2017. Everything is geared towards catering to our guests’ needs! ... more   less
