I loved it here, the lodge is right on the beach and provides a level of security after dark. It's furnished well and the lady who was staffing at the time of my visit was amazing. She noticed an infection on my leg and dragged me to a local Irish run clinic were they fixed me up, she provided us... More

Stayed here three nights in July. I believe it has the best garden / sitting area of the affordable places in Cape Maclear. Room are ok but very dark. Front doors are see-through(!). Service in hotel and restaurant is appalling. I will not be coming back.

We only planned to stay at this hostel one night. The rooms weren't bad for the value, we had a dorm to ourselves. It wasn't the cleanest room. The staff was usless. At one point the only staff member was sleeping near the beach. Things need to be fixed up there for sure. The chairs have wires sticking out of... More

It looks nice enough but when we were there they had no drinks in stock and the food was very bad. There was also no running water the whole day or night. Perhaps worst of all the staff kept hassling us to buy things from them that had nothing to do with the lodge, which is very annoying, especially when... More

We camped here in September 2012 and very much enjoyed it. The camping spot cannot be beat: a tree-shaded area right on the beach with a gorgeous view of the lake and the sunset. Reasonably priced and includes access to a clean bathroom and shower. However, we stopped by in January 2013 when thinking about staying here again and chose... More

This place has got the best backpackers vibe from all the places in CapeMaclear. All the othe r places are just a bit more up the market. The place itself is great with all the trees and all, beds are good, prices reasonable. Food is alright, but not great. The bottle-beachbar is exactly what this place wants to be; basic,... More

Travelled with students and spent the weekend. Met several other students staying at the lodge and had a great time! Highlights included the sunset "booze cruise" and daytime snorkelling excursion. Great value and lots of fun! Breakfast was good but I would eat dinner at the Gecko Lounge down the beach even though service was slow.

Stayed here for 5 nights, very comfy beds, and excellent value. Around 5$ a night excellent compared to all else around! But you will want to eat and drink elsewhere - a short 2 molins walk and you'll have great choice. Recently set up and not quite sure what's going on with management. arguments amongst owners were for all to... More

“This is a back packers lodge and can be noisy. Bar music until very late can be heard from all rooms. Our attitude was if you can't beat them join them and a good time was had by all!”
